It's really nice to see calves moved smoothly and smartly, without all the jumping around and causing panic and doing things the hard way. Much less stress on everyone, nice job.
Done something similar hanging a panel across a gate at the end of our chute. Calves can walk under and cows go out the chute. Made life a lot easier since we done this!
I just finished my first attempt at my cattle handling pen. It’s like what is known as a “bud box” but with my own details and ideas changed a little. I’m about to start training my small herd of 12 dexters to use it so I can get the 4 calves castrated next week. I have a very similar half get like your rope gate. You make it look easy with them big ol cows, hopefully my little dexters get the hang of things. They’re pretty easy and friendly and follow me everywhere already, but the calves are still kinda skittish…
