the same system that works your windshield washer fluid can be run underneath your van to spray soap on the back tires... which means the best burnouts youve ever seen
unfortunately the TCS and slip dif in the sprinter vans make burnouts impossible. Source: sprinter van owner (unless someone can teach me a work around haha)
7 років тому+1
Leftcoast, The soapy water will work even if the rear dif is a 'locker' and u 'soap' both sides...different issue if all wheel drive....then u would have to spray all 4 tires......the TCS would have nothing to control as all 4 wheels would be slipping.....it would be like driving on an ice rink with a wet surface.....only studded tires would give the TCS anything to work with.
OMG, I've wanted a van like this for forever; but with a PC and screen built into it, as well. And a second, more powerful alternator in the engine to recharge a significantly larger battery bank whenever the car is running.
@@BrentRose And I think you can buy a Goal Zero Yeti 1400 for 1800$ on Amazon or something like that if your 200Ah battery fails, because it's basically a plug & play power station that can be charged very easily with a solar panel without requiring you to have a separate inverter running to charge the thing. It's all in the box.
You got it all wrong. Just wire up 1000 watts of solar power in there. Been done... check out Tina Watts Solar and their Land Yatch. It's even radiant flooring for God's sake :O
How about a wifi extender that amplifies the wifi you can pick up on to maybe a 1/2 mile away, or a cell booster that takes a phone or mifi broadband up 2-3 bars? Also not tech related, you may want to take out the regular toilet and put in a composting toilet. That way you can replace your black tank with a clean water tank and sometimes double the amount of water you have on board.
In my van, I use a 15 dB antenna for WiFi and it works for parking lots pretty well. I can get WiFi from just about every business in a shopping center with it.
comparatively, it would take about 1 yr of bill savings to pay for itself, not bad really and during that time you are off the grid to spend or save that how you want.
I rent a room so I live in a very small environment but all my friends and family were super impressed when my bedroom also turned out to be a very comfortable office and kitchen and living room. The way I did it was making all my space multipurpose and buying multipurpose appliances, my remote controles my set top box and my tv, my microwave is a combination microwave i hang my keys and skateboard under my loft bed and all my cables are taped out of sight. I like my room so much I don't really see myself ever buying a big house even if I had the money. By the way the interior of my room cost me about 700 euro and thats with spending half of that money on one closet. Most of all I love the fact that my room puts little strain on my pay check which gives me mental and financial freedom.
Im not sure how old Brent is. However, what he said at the beginning is a line from an old SNL skit with Chris Farley. The actual line is: "First up, I am 35 years old.I am divorced and I live in a van down by the river" .. Super funny skit. :)
You need to go to Japan and procure a sex robot that folds away when not in use. That would be the finishing touch on this High Tech lifestyle. Also if your van comes with a shower/toilet room, you might want to consider some modifications in that area.
So fresh! I wish I had that serious power! Ill be living in my van starting in June. I have the Auxillary battery setup which charges the aux batter when I am driving, a battery charger which allows me to charge when docked at power, and a Solar Panel to setup when I am camping in the sun. I hope it is enough to keep me afloat! Cheers to the Van life, my friend.
That's what a friend does. When he started his travels i sugested him to get a gym membershit and just plan ahead for his destinations. 30 bucks a month and is a life saver.
Planet fitness is only 10 a month. 20 if you're constantly travelling (1200 locations). A lot of people like these as well, Helio Pressure Shower. Can put hot water in it and it doesn't use electricity.
1) You're my hero. 2) New additions: motorcycle trailer and a used KLR or other Dualsport with luggage for more fun/efficient trips to the store/work/outback.
madestonian the FTC would've required him to disclose that the video was being sponsored. He knows every single item because he purchased every single item. Also, don't you think they would provide affiliate links to the products or SOMETHING if they were advertising it? I like that peopl cautious about what they watch but have a little faith, sometimes. :)

Def: A quick sponge bath by hand, using a wet washcloth or a pre-moistened towelette, to extend the interval between showers or clean up after casual sexual intercourse. so it fits my original statement. Does not specify locations being cleaned
Idea! Install RGB LED Bulbs around the van, and use a smartphone app to change there colors. It would be a lot more convenient than those light cubes, and would be much cooler.
use a arduino uno to program a small chip like a atminy or whatever, and use a led, could have mass production of them for bout $3 ea if they areant already that cheap?
The thing with living on a vehicle is that adding stuff adds weight, and adding weight decreases fuel efficiency. If anything, I would consider adding parking jacks and wheel covers, for whenever you are spending time somewhere, and if you want to think about it on a techy sense, make the van self-jacking.
VeraBDO Almost certainly. Shouldn't be too much of a hassle if you have an A/V background though. If not, you'll probably save yourself a lot of pain by letting a friend or professional do it. :)
Killer van! It needs a wrap. Check out The Stradman's satin purple wrap he did on his Lamborghini. Something along those lines (perhaps a tad more subtle) would be perfect! Can't wait to see what's next.
You're my hero.. As that RV is one nice condition and it's not full of house junk. As I see more people try and bring their homes with them. Which defeats the purpose of down sizing and getting on with living.
It would be interesting to live in a van like that for a few years. Seems like a fun alternative lifestyle, granted you will have a sustainable job that accepts you being on the move a lot.
by far the best audio and visual van video I've seen and I've seen a lot. hey what about flashing mood lighting around the exterior (for parked use only or you may have police trouble).
+Adrian Alfacast I use a Verizon MiFi and I just turn it on when I need it. It hasn't worked absolutely everywhere, but it's been really solid. Definitely recommended.
+Brent Rose I work at Verizon: try getting an antenna for your Mifi and run it to the roof...they cost $10-30 from Verizon. That should make it about 30% more reliable
Hey Brent, Thank you very much for taking the time to show your gear set up for off the grid, much appreciated. I'm definitely going to use some of your ideas. Hope you're having a good time on the road. "Play the tape machine make the toast and tea....watch the police and the tax man miss me I'm mobile"....ooohhoo....The Who
You are correct. I boondock in my suv/second home sometimes and that's viable because it's much less expensive. Good luck stealth camping in that thing he drive around in. lol
Great van! Great video! So I really like those enevu cubes but they are 30 bucks a piece! There's like 5 dollars worth of tech in those things. Subscribed! Keep posting and have fun. People like me count on people like you to live vicariously.
+Roy Evritt Thought about it, those those make it look a little more like an RV, and I'm trying to keep this as incognito as possible for when I'm just parked on city streets. Maybe next summer though...
+agun17 Yeah, that would definitely be more subtle, but I really wanted the extra living space and the better gas mileage of a Sprinter (been getting about 20mpg on average).
A cool thing I have seen is captain chairs up front (which it looks like you already had them) and you put a projector above the cab and a rolls down projector screen for movies. Not my original idea but it’s still sick
you should check out Phillips Hue light strips. you could put them on top of shelves and under seats and use those for concealed light. they also change colors and brightness like the Hue bulbs. all controllable from the included remote or your smart phone. since you appear to be going all out with this thing I figured price wasn't too much of a concern.
+j7a1k1e I've considered that! It was actually my first choice, but then I realized you need to have a Wi-Fi network up and running for them to change colors, etc, and it's not practical for me to keep my MiFi going all the time. Still looking into solutions for that, as I'd love to make it happen.

I've thought this for a while

This took me back to the "pimp my ride" days.
me 2!
Nice one!
How about everyting water-related? Can you comfortably shower/shit/cook?
+Niki Herl ikr
i can take a shower in the river
Well that's all basic stuff in a campervan, he will just have to fill up his storage tank every few days or so, depending on how much he uses.
How about a funnel and filter that collects morning dew & rain from (the solar panels on) the roof top to fill up the fresh water tank?
Runoratsu in America it's illegal to collect the governments water.... I mean rain water..... Same thing
Your van cost more than my Bus AND the 5 years that I spent living in it whilst crossing the planet!

The 200 amp hour lithium battery costs $2,399 USD O_O
Saves you a lot more than $2400 worth of electricity bills though.

Should instead use a flux capacitor.
Dr. Krieger had some pretty sweet vans.
Mike Howard he had the best vans.
I'm so happy he is back we want more Brent Rose !!!
Props to you!! That's super cool. I gave up on the van life, because now I'm going Tiny house :)

damn brent, curious tho, how much did this whole thing cost?
Agree with Will Danner. More Brent Rose! Extremely likeable/knowledgeable fellow talking about some great stuff.
35? Damn! Looks mid 40's....

Great Vid. Well done! No ums , ahhs or "you knows". Also no obligatory drone shots. :) Enjoyed the content.
This is really high tech and really safe good job 😀 👍🏻
Where do you get personal shower space? I'm sure as hell not gonna making shower jelly fish in a public place
Justin Vasko These are Class B Motorhomes. They come equipped with a "wetbath" where the toilet and shower are in one space.
Justin Vasko I just got a gym membership to a popular gym that's all over the US and 24 hours.
$30 a month is definitely worth the water bill.
Topher Stoll what gym? I'm considering going this route too.

Machine guns, rocket launchers, mudding tires and a airplane
all in one!..I like my Astro better but to each his own!
There is only one reason I'm subscribed to this channel and it's because of Brent Rose
Wow, a whole month! No wonder you want yo share your expertise with all that experience. Frankly the whole video sounded more like an infomercial.
Great job on the van; nice integration.
I wanna see more vids of this van it's awesome

haha that dude had to wear P.P.E just to mount that solar panel. thats dumb
I don't even think I've linemen wear shit like that. Here we are laughing and that guy might very well be paralyzed from the waist down :o
lurk city I think it was for not waking on the roof with all his weight
Just to get to it! Not gonna turn the van on its side...
Very cool van man ...
I just picked up a cargo high roof sprinter and planning my mobile office with a shower and bed build ....
Needs more cowbell.
I have very little tech in my Honda Oddesey..mini RV...and I'm happy..
imagine he had to pay for all this shit? all he head to do was make a corny ass video about the freebies.
Hey Brent, Thank you very much for taking the time to show your gear set up for off the grid, much appreciated. I'm definitely going to use some of your ideas. Hope you're having a good time on the road. "Play the tape machine make the toast and tea....watch the police and the tax man miss me I'm mobile"....ooohhoo....The Who
Ls swap it
true that
OMG. WONDERFUL VEHICLE. HAVE FUN TRAVELING
velia garcia WHY ARE YOU YELLING
How do you shower..?
+Mads “Kiber” Kibernich With soap and water, i'm sure.
Would love to see the rest, hope theres another video on its way!
Less tech, more practicality. One of the worse full time RVs i've seen.
Genius! You are Heisenberg of tech :)
Dislike because overpriced and not viable for anyone.
+SVCKMY DICK Neither is an apartment, but a lot of people do have some. 50% of the world couldn't afford a western apartment
what? iron man sucks
SVCKMY DICK Everything is unaffordable to some people, doesn't mean it isn't a good idea.
it isnt a good idea, people dont just live in their car becuase they want to. By the way Arnold Palmers are the best drinks ever.
You are correct. I boondock in my suv/second home sometimes and that's viable because it's much less expensive. Good luck stealth camping in that thing he drive around in. lol
This is pretty sweet, good job!
Assision hu
Cool setup, I like the cube lights and solar panel on top. I couldn't live like you now but maybe when I retire. Later
Great video, thank you...🌞🌞🌞
I can't wait until my kids go to college
Did anyone else feel like they were watching pimp my ride? 😄it's a sick conversion tho!!
Wow!! Amazing video and van.
I love that SNL skit!
Great van! Great video! So I really like those enevu cubes but they are 30 bucks a piece! There's like 5 dollars worth of tech in those things. Subscribed! Keep posting and have fun. People like me count on people like you to live vicariously.
What the hell... I fell asleep and wake up to this playing
+SnakerSurprise lol
That virgin Atlantic joke is so true tho
what a time to be alive
You should definitely install a roll out canopy for camping trips if you want to have a barbecue or sit outside. It would be so cool.
+Roy Evritt Thought about it, those those make it look a little more like an RV, and I'm trying to keep this as incognito as possible for when I'm just parked on city streets. Maybe next summer though...
+Brent Rose Sorry, but it's pretty darn obvious. You need to buy one of those shitty Dodge (dodgy) vans if you want to go incognito.
+agun17 Yeah, that would definitely be more subtle, but I really wanted the extra living space and the better gas mileage of a Sprinter (been getting about 20mpg on average).
Wow those cubes are pretty cool
👍 Absolutely awesome! Thanks for sharing. Wishing you the best. 🤗
Living my dream life right there.
nice van wood love it for summer
This is good for post a apocalyptic scenario
A cool thing I have seen is captain chairs up front (which it looks like you already had them) and you put a projector above the cab and a rolls down projector screen for movies. Not my original idea but it’s still sick
great ideas i actually live in Springfield and will have to check out for solar panels too
This video is basically multiple adverts
you should check out Phillips Hue light strips. you could put them on top of shelves and under seats and use those for concealed light. they also change colors and brightness like the Hue bulbs. all controllable from the included remote or your smart phone. since you appear to be going all out with this thing I figured price wasn't too much of a concern.
+j7a1k1e I've considered that! It was actually my first choice, but then I realized you need to have a Wi-Fi network up and running for them to change colors, etc, and it's not practical for me to keep my MiFi going all the time. Still looking into solutions for that, as I'd love to make it happen.
You could use your MiFi as a router and get a WiFi extender for that. Just unplug the extender when you don't want to use the lights
This sounds like a really great idea
You should install propellers attached with batteries so while you're driving it can use wind resistance to its advantage
RaFi TV hy
Add a MiniGun
Lol
Like the one Nick Fury has in his Chevrolet Tahoe in Avengers Civil War
ROTFLOL... you are a handsome man. I just had to say it.
I shall be using your van as a template for my own. This time next year, I hope to be in my own awesome teched-out van living it up full time in Utah. I hope to run into you.
Cheers!
Tiny houses, now living in Van's. What fun..
