    Major Scale Licks EASY - HARD - WEIRD
    This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to major scale licks to learn. In this video, I want to give you a mix of licks spanning from more basic ideas to ones that are more complex and then others that are just weird but add a little something to your playing that may not have been there before.

    That opening lick was reminiscent of Michael Schenker, but then again, Randy Rhoads was inspired by Michael Schenker. You’re right about your first “Steal These Licks” video. I love that one as well. I still refer back to it for ideas and inspiration. Thanks for this one as well. Great playing, by the way!

    If it's easier and feels more natural to do the 3 5 7 on the E & A string with the ring and pinky in stead of going from middle to pinky, is that OK or would it be more beneficial in the long run to get use to going from index middle pinky?

    • @CameronCooper
      @CameronCooper  17 днів тому

      Of course it's okay, do what you want. If you find it limits you in anyway you can correct it later on. I personally prefer index, middle, little finger because it's a more dexterous combo for me. By nature, the little finger and ring finger want to stay close together I don't really bother with 2 fret stretches with those. It doesn't really achieve anything and feels awkward

    • @richardnoggin697
      @richardnoggin697 17 днів тому

      @@CameronCooper I just watched an old Dimebag video where he was doing pre show warm ups. He was doing pull offs up and down the neck using his index and middle finger stretched and kind of explaining why it was so helpful to practice it. I'm gonna take the time and practice it. 1:01 graphic in right bottom corner has some "minor" error I think. The marker "3" on low E string should be on right not left. Am i right?

    • @CameronCooper
      @CameronCooper  6 місяців тому

      I didn't make the graphic. I'd say the '3' is in the correct place since the low E is on the bottom of the graphic. Makes sense to put the 3 there. I've hardly ever read tab in my life so I wouldn't have noticed if that was the incorrect thing to do. Plus anyone watching this video is smart enough to ignore this mistake because of the visuals of me playing the scale next to it.
