Jake is also my favorite Ozzy guitarist. His playing had that swagger that others missed. I love Zakk and Randy too but Jake just had IT with the style and substance. Also the first 2 Badlands albums are masterpieces.
Sharron mader sure of that. She screwed over Lee and Bob Daisly out of all royalities and publishing. They wrote all of the songs, melodies and lyrics during their time in the band. They wrote 100% of bark at the Moon and Bob even made demo vocals for ozzy to follow when he recorded. Ozzy had ZERO creativty input in those first 4 albums. Ozzy is an image and a unquie voice..THATS it. Hes not as creative as people seem to think.
Hi, Cam! I completely agreed with you. Jake E. Lee is an unique guitar player and my favourite one as well. Both Inventive and creative musician of our time. Meanwhile, here in the youtube universe, you're the only one guy who nail the Jake's playing and breakdown every little secret behind Jake's wall of sound. Paraphrasing one of the famous Ozzy's song... Thank GOD for the Cam, Thank GoD for the Cam. Nuke ya Nuke ya !!!!! Cheers from Brazil 🇧🇷!
I keep coming back to this lesson- thanks Cameron! I was so into Randy Rhoads only for the longest time and this opens my mind to Jake E Lee. Now I'm a huge fan. Would love an in depth lesson of "Now You See it Now You Don't" it's got killer riffs.
Thanks a lot! I've got to be careful on playing that stuff because I can't monetise Ozzy themed content generally. Most of that song is simple power chords excluding chorus and solo
I always thought Jake was a no-nonsense player with an aggressive attack, his style is very addictive. You can see it in the way his whole body moves while he plays.
Jake is the best Ozzy guitar player. Bark at the Moon came out when I was starting high school. I was barely over Randy's death, but wow Jake blew my mind. Such an artist.
Hi Cameron ! Hope you're doing well . Thanks for sharing these Licks . Your Playing is like Magic ! I've learned so many things from you in the past few months . Thank You . 🎸 😎 🎸
Jake is my favorite Ozzy guitarist as well, I would say favorite 80's hard rock guitarist but Eddie was around and I think we can all agree he will always be the GOAT! Love your videos man you are a great player and great teacher as well!
Nailed it…Jake came out blazing after taking over from Prince Randy (that’s what Zakk calls him)…you can tell those 2 albums were all Jake…great stuff Cam👍
Nothing comes close to the creativity, style and attitude of the first Badlands album and Voodoo Highway is stellar, But I’ve heard a couple of BL fans say Dusk was a stinker. IMO Dusk is at least as good as Voodoo Highway. Every song is great but Sun Red Sun is the standout for me. Healer, The River, The Fire Lasts Forever… actually every track is friggin awesome! I’ve met and spoken with Greg Chaisson a few times he says Dusk was their most personal. Every song had a story behind it, an event or a person. Walking Attitude was specifically about Greg. Even with a small catalog of only 3 albums, Badlands is my all time favorite band, only behind the mighty Zeppelin.
I gotta say of all the amazing guitar channels I am subscribed to , I constantly come back to your channel. Always sharing badass licks and your playing is just excellent. Keep’em coming please. Thank you
Jake E Lee is undoubtedly the best...... The finest in heavy metal history. It's through his music we were blessed with the 2 mighty albums, Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin. Long live Jake and his music.
Excellent content Cameron, thank you! You superbly capture some of the magic and mystique of Jake's innovative playing in this piece. Always thought Jake was such an intelligent (and often overlooked!) player. Certainly not given the recognition he deserved. Bravo 👏
Jake E Lee is my all time favorite guitarist! I love it when you play his stuff, I always try to catch the vids! Great work on his killer riffs! By the way, LOVE that natural finish Charvel!!!
As as long rock guitar lives. Jake’s name will always pop up. Does not mattar if he is underrated or overrated or whatever. His stamp on all the rock players around the world is evident specially people who play 80s style guitar.
Cam! ❤ that u did this! I finally got the Jake E Lee Charvel MIM and it’s Perfect! I play it thru the newer White version the Yamaha THR30II and it sounds Amazing! And watching u makes it so much easier for me to pick these licks up. I have a decent ear but I’m more of a Visual learner I guess and U are a Godsend and Blessing to me becoming a better player every day! Keep up the great work and hope to jam w you some day! Thank you Cameron!!!!! Well done!!!! So glad you posted and made this video!!!! It sure gave me some ideas of some new guitar licks to learn and incorporate in my style!!!! Jake E. Lee is top favorite guitar player of mine!!!! I like Jake's style because you don't need a whammy bar to play his solos!!!! I'm NOT a Floyd Rose whammy bar abuse guitarist!!!! Too much hassle for me!!!! I prefer guitars without whammy bars!!!🙂😊😀😄😁 You have a great day Cameron!!!🥰👍
Jake was good, but Saint Rhoads was THE guitarist and if you listen to some soundboard recordings on the Diary tour, you hear stuff like Jake did! But Jake was also borrowing heavily from players in Hollywood like Rik Chaddock and Carlos Cavazo when he was in Snow and the guitarist from Smile! All 80s late 70s bands that you would never have know because you are in England and probably not born! But try and look those players up! Also ,the singer from the Bullet Boys Mark was the guitarist in Ratt as was Jake ,and he was the one who jake basically stole a lot of those tricks! Marc or Mark was an amazing guitar player and singer! Check it out,it's on UA-cam somewhere!
I seen Jake E Lee at the Long Beach Sports arena in 86 it was the ultimate sin tour. Was there to see Metallica & was not going to stick around for glamy Ozzy but was glad I did because Jake was amazing. I later saw him in Badlands in some small hole in the wall called the strand in Redondo beach I think & was blown away at his guitar skills.
My favorite Ozzy guitarist is Randy, as you know. But i think Jake is one of the most underrated guitar players ever. He is truly an incredible and original artist. Nice break down!
I prefer Randy, but Jake is a SUPER close second for me. Probably was timing thing, Randy hit the scene about the same time i got my first electric. One thing i know, Ozzy never had a shortage of amazing guitarists to work with.
Never knew the "delay" trick in Never Know Why. I just assumed it was an actual echo effect added during the mix. After seeing it played, it makes more sense now! Great job!
The one awesome Jake technique you didn’t mention was fretting with the THUMB of his left hand for some huge intervals! This was also a part of his solo spot. Aside from him, I’ve only seen classical cellists do that!
Jake is also my favorite Ozzy guitarist. His playing had that swagger that others missed. I love Zakk and Randy too but Jake just had IT with the style and substance. Also the first 2 Badlands albums are masterpieces.
1000 %
Right on. That's the word - `swagger`. Incomparable.
Yeah he's just slick man. Got that style 😎
A great player that never got his fair dues - either financially or in terms of acclaim.
Absolutely true.
We have Sharon to thank for that! 😠

She's f*cking EVIL 😠

And his tone is so much better than Randy’s! 😊
I saw Jake live in 1989 with his band Badlands. It was life changing for me! Amazing talent and he never received the credit he deserved.
Me too. My first real concert, and I feel the same way.
Same here. That first badlands tour was incredible.
First Badlands album was Infuckingcredible!!
I saw him on the Bark tour, but sure sorry I didn’t see Badlands.
Jake was at the height of his powers!🤘🏻
Awesome! Got to see him on Bark at the Moon tour (with my mother, I was 13, God bless her) and with Badlands 6 years later. Both awesome!

Love it! Jake is so underrated. Love your playing.
Jake changed my approach when I heard Badlands. Rumblin Train is one of the finest solos ever written!
For me it was that weird solo on Ball & Chain.
It’s always sounded like the first part was in reverse!🤘🏻
Great job, ultimate sin my favourite album thanks to jakes licks ❤
Cam…these licks a pure gold…gonna keep me busy for hours…thanks for sharing 👍

Ozzie’s number 1 guitarist in my book.
Jake is the best Ozzy guitar player. Bark at the Moon came out when I was starting high school. I was barely over Randy's death, but wow Jake blew my mind. Such an artist.
great video. That never know why trick and the whole song for that matter are so amazing. Jakes in my top 3 for sure, great great player so unique.
More jake please...he is easily top 5 of the 80s guitarists. Been a fan since i was 17 and still love his style now!
Whenever I say Jake is right up there with Randy I get torn to shreds in the comments. I stand by it sorry
Saved. Jake is my favorite of Ozzy's guitarists as well. Thanks for this
YES! Big Jake E Lee fan here as well! Thank you for this BADASS video! \m/
OMG! U killed it! Superb analysis and awesome playing! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

That Charvel is nasty!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds so clean and crisp.
mine to! jake is my favorite guitarplayer since 1984! saw him 1986 live with, he carried the whole show…
I've never been so excited to learn some Jake e lee riffs!
Jake e lee was a my hero growing up. Him and Eddie! Nuno is great, but we have to acknowledge who was doing it before!
Jake is so creative!
Every solo is a well thought out little masterpiece.
Brilliant brilliantly done and taught.
Waiting For Darkness is such a great theme.
Jake is beyond his time.😊
Nailed it…Jake came out blazing after taking over from Prince Randy (that’s what Zakk calls him)…you can tell those 2 albums were all Jake…great stuff Cam👍
Father Randy****
@@MDC249 it's Saint Rhoads :D
@@d_sarantis nowadays he calls him that, but Zakk originally called him, "Father Randy," and "Father Tony."
So blessed to have seen Jake & Tommy Aldridge on the Bark at thr Moon tour. Jake WAS at the top of his game, Tommy too. Great show. 83 I think.
Pretty sure it was ‘84.
I saw that one too, and boy was Jake killing it!🤘🏻
Wish there was a button other than the like button to show how much I love this video and Jake
Thanks for this

Jake never had a boring note, what an awesome guitarist back in the day - he was in my top 5 favorites of all time
I'm on a JEL binge. My fav Ozzy guitarist as well. Just got his Friedman amp. Your lesson is serendipitous!
Amazing work! Always wanted these tricks!! Thank you!!!
I love those Ash Charvels so much I bought the model 1 & 2 used two years after they were released!

I agree...Jake is a KING
Awesome playing as always! I would love to see your take on some John Sykes style licks/riffs!
I've not really learned enough from John Sykes to make a video about it except a few Whitesnake riffs.
Sykes is one of the most underrated guitarists of the 80s. His playing and the way he bends notes on jelly roll give me chills. Blue murder was badass
All fun and games. Thanks for the Shred School. Jake E. Lee took fundamentals, and ran.Cameron, you a Bad Man. \m/
Great video 😊😊😊😊 ❤️
Jake e lee video , wow after a long time ... I was waiting for this for so long
Love your videos....
Jake is my fave ozzy guitarist as well.
That is the best Charvel. I'm a tremolo guy, however, that iteration of MIM Charvel is stellar!!!!
My favorite Ozzy guitarist is Randy, as you know. But i think Jake is one of the most underrated guitar players ever. He is truly an incredible and original artist. Nice break down!
