  • One could argue that the Marvel Universe has been created and recreated time and time again (or returned to a previous less spoiled state). In this particular telling of universal origins we are given a likely God of the Abrahamic religions. Marvel Premiere #13-14

    Im starting to like older comics
    To see the true sides of characters as characters and not as jokes
    Altho its a bit more ridiculous, i mean theyre comics what would thry be if not ridiculous

    I remember a time when i actually gave a damn about the continuity errors about the Marvel Multiverse's creation. At some point I just decided to cherry-pick the elements I liked and ignore the rest (and with the recent events with the First Firmament and the previous six multiverses, such worrying is utterly pointless)

      I like the storyline with the First Firmament because I think/feel that it was an attempt at closing many of those continuity errors. They have been slowly filling in stories that have been left hanging for 50+ years and although I might not like ALL of the new lore there is lots there to be loved ( such as the new Galactus, loving it). I'm excited to see Marvel making some of these bold moves.

      @@Cosmic.Comics did a cosmic entity named nemesis created the marvel multriverse.

      I think a being name Nemesis was present at the creation of the Earth-93060 Universe. Each reality has it's own set of Infinity Stones. I wish I could remember where I read that - and each reality has it's own version of the Infinity Gauntlet - a way to combine and harness the power of the gems. It might not be a Gauntlet in other realities but it has some form of representation (a sword, a candle holder, a staff, etc.). It seems as though Earth-93060 is a reality where the object that harnessed the power of the Infinity Stones was another Stone. The Ego Gem. I was hoping it was going to tie in with the origins of Ego but that never panned out. To back this up it states in Ultraforce / Avengers "The Seventh Gem was the Operating System that linked the others to form a device of Unparalleled Creative Force." The combination of all of them created Nemesis who claims to have existed prior the stones (so why did she break up in the first place?). It goes on the tell us that "The Gems were once somehow part of a creature capable of building universes." but one who was "supposed to find a blank canvas to paint her dream worlds on - not paint over an existing work of creation." Because of this it appears that Nemesis fails because she should have been starting with a new universe, not one that already exist. When she recreates the Marvel Universe I feel like it is very much in the same sense of Genesis/Sise-Neg where everything is restarted again but nothing really changes - the one exception to that being that the Malibu Comic Universe has been stitched into Marvel with their past adventures seldom to never coming up again. As an aside - I think it's great that the character of Nemesis isn't evil or anything - she's literally just trying to complete a series of orders much like a computer program. In closing - every Marvel Universe might have an Ego Gem at the beginning of it, and some definitely do, but we have nothing conclusively telling us that every universe does.

      And technically - yes, she did create the Earth-616 Universe and I want to do episode on this eventually but won't get around to it until after I cover the Infinity Gauntlet, which is way down the list.

    MP #13 is one of the all-time great comic book issues, given the brilliant art by Frank Brunner and writing by Steve Englehart. Brunner left the industry just a few years later. An era that needs to return, if comics are to have any future.

    Since Sise-Neg wanted to write a book, and considering how he ended up and the events along the way, are we meant to infer that book is the bible?

    Is this story canon? I know it was written over forty years ago and you the story holes are massive to say the least. I have never seen this story or this character ever referenced.

    • @Cosmic.Comics
      @Cosmic.Comics  6 років тому +4

      As far as I know it is cannon - I think it is generally glossed over due to the - since nobody ever noticed and nothing changed due to these events - why worry about it. It has the same bad taste Infinity Gauntlet left in my mouth - half the MU dies but in the end we just put everything back in place. I can't remember who wrote this issue off the top of my head but the strange dedication to focusing on Old Testament events was out of character for most Marvel stories but this definitively places Genesis as the God of the Abrahamic religions in the MU. If these events had reached into other portions of the multiverse this would have been the 8th iteration of the multiverse but since Gensis saw Earth-616 as perfect he might have turned them all into mirror copies of 616. It also raises some continuity issues now that the 8th iteration of the MU came about prior to the the birth of Sise-Nig. Sise-Nig is now needed as part of the cannon for the events in the Garden to take place that I covered in my Saga of the Serpent Crown Part 2 (I think that's right). Or maybe not, timetravel is so f*ed. And depending on the author may or may not be addressed appropriately. Pretty crazy story.

      Right the continuity is all out of wack and if he had the power to destroy and remake one universe, then wouldn't he know that its been done before and that there are other universes? The Living Tribunal just set this one out? Eternity allowed himself to be destroyed along with all the other abstract entities? Then the question of where did he get universe making power from? I mean, ok, he could gather the magic to effect the Earth, but the entire universe is a stretch. I'll just chalk it up to early writing

    • @hodaritoure8181
      @hodaritoure8181 6 років тому +1

      Also, thanks for the early stories, I have been reading Marvel since the 70s and the story of Atum and the demiurge was one of my favorites as well as the early Celestial stories before they watered their power down.

      No problem! This channel is a long road for me. I could focus on what is popular at the moment and pull in more subscribers but I want to create something that is seen as a resource for those who want to know more about Cosmic Marvel and it's history. I'm using Quasar as a guide along that path. Mark Gruenwald did a great job touching on nearly every aspect of the Marvel Comics Universe with his 60 issue run. I never though that taking the the time to tie in everything that takes place between Quasar #1 and Quasar #2 would take me more than two years but here I am.... but then again - work this past year has heavily slowed down the # of videos I can produce. That's the difference between working 35 hours a week and working 60 hours a week. Those extra 25 hours allowed me to get a video out per week during the previous year. Vids should become more regular sometime next year. Thanks for watching and commenting!

      Apparently the changes Sise-Neg made while travelling back through time were left in place when he sent the universe forward again as I've found some evidence that that is the reason why Earth-616 is not currently one of the many facets of the multiverse ruled by Shuma-Gorath. His (Sise) changes had to stay in place for things to work out the way they did. An example of when Shuma-Gorath wasn't expelled from the MU is the Cancerverse. Not saying it all makes sense but its adds more credence to the story as cannon and is kind of backed up by the events within the Realm of Kings story arcs.

    It looks like Geneses created the universe without having any difficulty just like that, I would say he could surpass TOAA if he could recreate a universe unchallenged by any of the hierarchy and he did it in five seconds!
