We appreciate what you do in this comic book space your videos are heart felt and very knowledgeable yes it a lot of people are doing it but I guarantee our small motley crew that follows you are strong and can’t for theses video keep it up we will watch and share thanks again
Omg 😳 another video I just saw it on my timeline just made a salad 🥗 bathed my son kissed the wife now it’s time for my favorite comic book specialist thanks for the video I know it’s going to be amazing
I love when you say written by Stan Lee even though the art was already drawn by Jack Kirby with Notes on the plot on the side, but that is the traditional history and how it is “officially” credited
Yeah, I generally go with the credited writer and don't try to get into the weeds on who "wrote" it. It is always a interesting discussion - and Stan Lee definitely gets more credit than he deserves - But it detracts from jumping into the story and the opening is where the most number of viewers are going to drop off. Sometimes when things are particularly egregious and we know it - I'll follow up with some commentary after the fact. Thanks! Great point! AND: We have moved into a new iteration of the MCU ala the most Secret Wars and the classic Marvel the stories I talk about a technically part of that - the entire cosmology is up to be rewritten and is the reason I stopped my Marvel Hierarchy series Thanks for the comment!
Hey, don't disappear again! Tie material from past episodes together into a retrospective with new narration; do a straight opinion episode without a deep dive (we'd like hearing your take on comics delivered extemporaneously); a postcard not a letter, whatever!
I believe it was Astonishing Thor Vol 1 1 2010 The Stranger not only Created Ego , but Alter Ego a twin of Ego, although in that story Alter Ego ends up being reduced to being a living Moon that orbits Ego@@Cosmic.ComicsMind you a lot of people forget that Hickman's Secret Wars was a soft reboot,(even if Marvel denied it) so a lot of MU history has been changed
@@228Iya Good info. 100% that Secret Wars was a reboot and one the Marvel Universe is still feeling fallout from. It opened the door for them to retcon any/all past events and they have. Loved the follow up via the Ultimates. I've been off the Marvel train of late but will read up on GODS as it drops on Marvel Universe.
@Cosmic.Comics Yeah, I, too, have been off the Marvel train of late... the only thing I really read was Gillen's recent Eternals stuff. Horrible art aside...loved the Uranos sorta retcon, liked the Judgment Day stuff too ,for the most part the Deviants connection to the Mutants..and the introduction of those giant Eternals that kinda looked like Celestials albeit with a more alien look to them, I thought they were Eternal war machines, but the narration says they are Eternals , I have so many questions now, sadly don't think Marvel will answer though...and Ajak is now a Eternal Celestial hybrid?
I hated John Byrne's retcon of Ego's origin in that FF story. Not a bad idea, necessarily (Ego just came into being), but told in too simplistic of terms. But Bryne's entire FF run, especially the first stories, were kid stuff in the worst way: it was so basic and lazy.
I remember reading this story years ago. I always thought Ego was such an interesting character.
Cosmic comics glad your back narrating, your the best hope you do more coverage of marvel comics

We need so much more of this classic Marvel Contant❤
What a treat!
I like to count the references to the works of E.E. Doc Smith in these early Marvel space comics.
Right on! it's been awhile
Thx buddy
Was Buckler's work always a Kirby impression? Or was he just using the style as an homage because it was a Thor title?
Not sure. Great question.

how’s it feel to share the same name as a level in a 6 year old nintendo game
One of the best stories Kirby ever created. Too bad that James Gunn ruined this character. So much potential lost forever.
You speak of Ego, the Celestial. Sigh
Well not forever I hope. Maybe they’ll fire Feige and hire someone with more respect for the Kirby material.
❤️
Ego's origin has been retconed...he was now said to have been created by the cosmic being The Stranger??
what? when did this happen? did the Stranger say this? that dirty liar. can't trust strangers

Agreed, it added nothing while taking away so much
