Tony, I'm devastated to hear your news 😢 you will sure be remembered as one of the most entertaining, bravest, and fun bonsai youtubers out there. Will miss your videos bro, thank you for all your tree tips, experiments, updates and wonderful sense of humour. Hang in there now, and enjoy your time with your loved ones. ❤
Thanks Dave. It's been a blast and I've really enjoyed sharing my passion for this wonderful hobby. Keep up with the slick videos. I always enjoy your white board diagrams and calm serene demeanor 🙂
Thanks Tony for all the videos. As your channel progressed, we got to know you more and more. You will be missed dearly.
Thanks Nigel. The UA-cam bonsai community really is a great place, full of generosity and passion. I know that you will continue oyour journey for us all to keep enjoying mate
I'm still doing what I can off camara with some assistance. I'm not quite ready to hang up the old bonsai scissos yet. big cut coming up!
Don’t know what to say mate, so sad. Thank you tony for being you and sharing your life with us all
Thanks Les. I've always lived my life doing what makes me happy, an these past couple of years have been no exception. Making bonsai videos has been such great fun, and while I'm still feeling able, I'm carrying on doing what makes me happy.
Now that I'm done crying I can post a comment. We love you Tony and you will be in our hearts and minds forever. 🐦💙
Cheers jay, but save those tears mate. I prefer tears of laughter 😂
@@TonysBonsai oh you definitely gave me cheers of laughter mate. Wait until my wife gets home and finds a nice hot kelp and fish emulsion bath waiting for her. 🛁😂
You have made it such a pleasure to be part of this community and you have also been a great motivator for me to keep on trying to improve. You are an inspiration and I cannot say how much I have enjoyed waking up to all of your varied content. The collaboration videos were such fun and the trees from them are going to be 'yours' for ever. I will do my best to stay true to your intentions for the trees I took over from you. I will stay happy and smile whenever I think of you or when I work on your trees - as you definitely wanted. My only real request is that if any of your family need or want me to spend a day helping them with the trees then please, please make sure they email me so i can try and sort something. I will continue to pray for you and enjoy my bonsai thinking of you. All the ebst and a big hug to every member of that wonderful family of yours. You are a star!!!
We are all part of this wonderful community mate, and I have enjoyed many a coffee watching you explain and then perform some really good bonsai work on your trees. Obviously I've also witnessed the odd msacre,🤣
Keep entertaining Xav. I believe that is where you shine just being yourself sharing your trees and time with us all.

Hi Tony,
I've had a couple of trees for 35 years, an oak and a sycamore, but they were just stuck in a pot and called a bonsai, no idea what I was doing, it's only recently that I started looking into bonsai and found your video channel, it's been a revelation, I realise I could have some great trees by now instead of really shit ones!!
The oak refused to do anything this year, probably because it's still in the same pot and after watching your emergency oak repot video, I did the same and mercy me , the buds are breaking, better late than ever, thank you so much for helping save it
I really wanted to come to the Extravaganza but unfortunately couldn't but it looked like a great day.
Thanks for all your help, kindness and enthusiasm with bonsai, being a Bonsai Master helps I guess😊, I'll try to carry on learning and will also try to be as enthusiastic as you, it may be a struggle as I've just turned 60 and can be a miserable bastard according to some who know me!
Really and truly I wanted to say thank you for putting me on the right track and entertaining me, I'll be thinking of when I'm bonsaiing.
Kind regards and God bless.

Really Sad to hear 😞
Unfortunately death does not discriminate 😢
This is the 3rd bonsai channel i watched to the end. First new easy bonsai method, then Bonsai illiagan and now you.
Enough gloom for now so get out there and enjoy as many good meals, laughs with friends and some beers 🍻 cheers for your bonsai contributions you have have made, you will be missed, cheers from Aussie bonsai bloke
See you in bonsai heaven ✨️ ❤️
Cheers Sam. I put down the drink around 20 years ago because I was a bit of a lush, but I always enjoy watching you crack a cold one mate. I love all your re wilding content, and please neck a beer for me on your next upload 🍺
I also followed Jojo from Bonsai Iligan, with whom I shared two mutual friends. Another one that I still fondly remember is The Bonsai Student. He was local to my area, and had about 70 videos on his channel when I got back into bonsai in 2012. Then, after about 10 more, he stopped uploaded new videos. About 2 or 3 years later, his spouse posted on his Facebook page that he had passed. It felt very much like losing an actual friend.
Life is so unfair. No words can express how very sad I am for you and you family and close friends. How brave you are to make this video. I hope that your legacy will continue for many, many years. Your channel will be sadly and greatly missed by thousands. Thank you for your videos, your humour and your advice. I personally have learned a lot from you. Stay strong mate.
Cheers Mick. It's been great fun becoming an international bonsai megastar😂 . Thanks for all the chats buddy
We all Love you Tony. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🌲🌲🌲
Your outlook and positivity in the face of a terminal diagnosis says a lot about who you are.
Thanks Zack. I'm a big fan of enjoying life, and so long as I'm still able, I'm planning on enjoying every moment, and it's working out great so far 🙂
Tony, I will definitely miss your Bonsai videos and the humour they bring. I've got to say the appeal to me is the self depreciating humour, coupled with the odd moment of pure genius comedy and also a snap shot into your life and family - seeing the genuine support for each other is truly heart warming - be it from your dad using his digger to delicately lift some plants from his garden or Rick gently test driving your dads bike around the garden (Alison killed herself watching the knife throwing attempt and the ever increasing survival odds of your dads Oak bonsai!).
The one thing though that sets you apart from the vast majority of people though is your ability to see things I can't! I have admired your photography for a number of years and more recently your bonsai, and whilst you have access to the same stuff I do, your gift to be able to see beyond and capture a picture I would never dream of being able to, or see the potential in a tree that I would disregard is what sets you apart....did you do this when you were plastering????
"Now I know you asked us to plaster this room, but I thought to myself, do you know what I think it would look better with bare brick here............"
I felt very fortunate to have been able to come to your extravaganza, we had a great time and I felt very humbled by your collection of trees - I'll do my best to look after the two trees I bought and I'm going to attempt one of the forests myself!
Thank you Tony for all your wonderful videos, inspiring content, good nature and positivity - if I'm feeling sad about your situation I just need to think of the knife throwing video and your support for your dads tennis tracksuit as it will always make me smile!
Cheers mate Al
Hi Tony, I’m shocked and saddened by the news. As bonsai has been a bright part of your life, you’ve been an even brighter part of UA-cam. I hope it brings you comfort to know that your legacy will live on, through the trees you’re leaving behind and through all your videos. You’re an inspiration in the bonsai world and also in the way you approach this fleeting one. A heartfelt thank you. AR
Most Bonsai channels Instruct, demonstrate, teach the art of bonsai. You, Tony shared the experience, the risk, the fun of learning something with a good friend. You weren't my "teacher", you were my neighbor who met me out back after dinner to take a look at my larch forest, maybe give it a little trim, maybe, a little more, shouldn't repot this time of year but......
Thank You Tony. God Bless you.
Cheers mate. Lo😢 your comment. It would have been a privilege to be your neighbour and chat bonsai and Share a pizza
Thanks so much Tony. I have appreciated your content very much. Cheers from California,USA. Your attitude is an absolute inspiration.
Tony I am so sorry to hear about the medical news! Buy on a positive note, I want to tell you that your channel and style of vlogging was amazing. Ive been watching bonsai videos on youtube for years now and ive never seen a channel storm the web like yours. Your outgoing honest approach to bonsai was exactly what we needed. You're definitely one of my favorites to watch. Take it easy friend, thanks for everything.

I put off watching this sad but humorous personal epitaph from Tony so many times, but since you left us on the 27/28 August, I wanted to hear your wonderful optimistic voice again. Thank you Tony for sharing your incredible photos with us and I will most certainly be printing off one or two myself. The nebari of your many videos will live on as will your recipe for Muck and your incredible ability to find tree specimens and containers at proper 'Lancashire' prices ! Cheers Corin it's been great fun
Tony, your videos entertained, educated and inspired me. My life was made better by your contribution to humanity. Thank you.
Thanks for everything Tony.
It’s been a real pleasure to get to meet and know you as a friend, with your wicked sense of humour. I’m also so very glad that so many people attended on Saturday to say thank you in person. I don’t doubt many more would have loved to be there.
You’ve been an inspiration to so many with your fearless approach and enthusiasm. You have added several new terms to the bonsai lexicon, including the “Tony chop” and “vet tape” 😂
I hope that your vast catalogue of UA-cam videos can continue to inspire, instruct and entertain for years to come. Know that your trees will be cherished and well looked after. You are a star. 🙏❤
Oh no 😢
I'm so sad. I just wanna cry 😢
We love you bud ❤
My thoughts are with you!
You are such a great guy!
Keep strong 💪
I'll miss you Tony 😢
For those of us older Bonsai hobbyists this is a problem we will all have, of what to do with your trees. Many of mine are quite big and are difficult for me with my arthritis in the knees, to move around. My children say they are going to free the bonsai by planting them in the wild! I have offered my family to put a sticker on any trees that they want, I hope they will keep them. The Scots I believe have a national collection looked after by members of exhibition trees that have been donated by retiring growers, this seems like a good idea. Thanks for all your contributions Tony and Bon Voyage.
I am going to print some of your pictures and hang them, they will be on my wall for future videos.
I also have many trees with your mark imprinted on them, one example will be my huge collected Hawthorne that you loved. Every time I look at those trees I am reminded of you mate. Your legacy is much deeper than you think 💚
You’re incredibly brave and strong, thank you for everything you’ve done for this community 🪴
Good man. I'll look forward to seeing which picture you pick

what a great day it was. the trees you gave me are still hanging in there despite the abuse I've been giving them. I've even managed to eliminate the pests they came with 😂
Miss you Tony.
I am now watching this for a second time and wanted you to know I have now created a playlist where anything relating to your work will be saved and hopefully shared. If you are able then I would ask for you to add the plalist link on to the description of this video. I will be adding several of your key videos to this playlist to allow people, in the future, to know the original work carried out. ua-cam.com/play/PL5AzQGomfKw7X1oXnr6tJ1viC9y_QWPLl.html

Cheers mate, life is there to be enjoyed and when you throw in some bonsai and good food, it's easy to do🎄 🍔
@@TonysBonsai Thanks mate, I will try to stick to your recommendation. Im going to have a massive burger for lunch and I will wire the shit out of some tree in the afternoon. Greetings 👍

Looks like the get together was a smashing success from the videos I saw. What a great community.
Your tips and tricks will live on in your videos, thank you for sharing.

Sending lots of healing thoughts, even though we never met in person!
Bless you and your family ❤
Thank you for being you!

My dad passed away a few years ago and he bought me two trees from a garden centre. I can't go to his gravestone as it upsets me too much but his trees live on and he does too in me & their daily care, a living memorial. It's where I go to talk to him and remember. You're a great guy and I am so sorry to hear this news. I just thought you'd like to know how important these bonsai are to me and I totally get why you'd want to do this and pass on your best trees to the ones you love the most. Cheers, fella and take care.
Lost my father 1 year ago. I had also problems with going to cemetery. But I planted a hinoki cypress by his grave. And when it gets to big I will take it home . And have him by my side. ❤

Whenever amputating limbs, immediately apply cut paste.
Every 2 months a good dowsing of liquid seaweed and fish emulsion early in the morning
Once a year hair cut.

Tony, you do not know me, I have watched you for as long as I can remember you being on UA-cam. The charisma and positivity you promote is unmatched within the world of bonsai. You made it realistic with your B&Q style trees and made them into wonderful works of art. This video has hit me like a tonne of bricks and this is my first time commenting but I just wanted you to know how much you have inspired me and I’m sure many others. I wondered what was going on...but I also respect privacy. In fact, I reached out to one of the other online bonsai people to see if they knew what was going on...I've watched your videos for only the last year (maybe 1.5 years), and always enjoyed them immensely...so I was concerned about your health and reason. I must have missed the one where you discussed your cancer. HOWEVER, this is a BEAUTIFUL video and to be honest...I had tears in my eyes. May your final days be peaceful and pain free and know that you've touched many, many people with your videos, knowledge and attitude. As an old Navy veteran...we have a saying, "Fair winds and following seas" friend.
I am sorry to hear your news. I have enjoyed getting to know you a bit through your video's - Thanks for that. You'll be missed.

First time commenter I think, but if this doesn't deserve a response I don't know what would. This corner of the internet has been enriched not only by your videos but by your humor and personality. There aren't many who can point to an international impact and legacy looking back on their life, and yours is definitely deserved. Best wishes for comfort and peace to you and your loved ones, man, and thank you for everything.
I'm so sorry to hear this news. You'll be missed by everyone who loves you, of course, but also by those of us who just know you from your videos. There are thousands of us, and we're all crushed. You didn't just entertain us. You made us feel like we were part of your circle. I'm pouring a very nice shot of expensive Caribbean rum and toasting to you tonight. Thank you for everything. Cheers, mate.
Thanks for the lovely message mate.
Really touching words.
I'm still cracking on for as long as possible, and I'm proving to be pretty stubborn in that regard 🤣
That hit me really hard today ... I can't believe it.
I've got a Ginkgo in development. My goal is to make a large and strong bonsai out of it. And I like to name my trees. I'll call my Ginkgo Tony. So, you are and stay a part of my bonsai journey. Thank you so much Tony.
Bro. Tony, I loved watching your videos. I will miss your content greatly. Peace
Sooo sorry to hear of your cancer return, I've loved watching your Bonsai' journey ! My adult son also has brain cancer ( currently in remission one yr now). and Bonsai' has been his path to regaining motor skill and keeping his mind stimulated.
My Gods peace be with you as you walk these finale miles in life!
Tony I am so sorry to hear your news. You have been such an inspiration over the last two years not only to the bonsai world but your whole positive outlook on life. Watching your wonderful videos has been so entertaining and listening to your witty banter has been such a joy. I have followed you since your early days as a bonsai video maker and I have totally enjoyed every one of your demonstrations. Thank you for bringing so much happiness to us all and thank you for being you.
I wish you well. ❤
