Hi Adam, I just wanted to recommend Puri Santrian - Santrian Club rooms, which are adult-only. We stayed there in late November and were fortunate to get a free upgrade to a ground-floor Santrian Club room and loved every minute. Stepping out to the peaceful, adult-only pool area was lovely, with its stunning water features and canopy of frangipani trees; squirrels ran and jumped through the trees. A magical part of Sanur.
When we are in Sanur we walk daily from Sala (after breakfast) either along Pantai Duyung to the beach walk up to Pantai Sindhu, have lunch somewhere then along to Danau Tamblingan and back to Duyung, or the other way around.. we always walk both ways… we absolutely love it. 😊
Thanks Adam! Your videos are fantastic. We will be in Sanur at the end of January, staying at Peneeda View Hotel in one of their 2 bedroom family rooms close to the beach. Initially very sad as we would have been visiting all the restaurants that closed! However I know we will still be spoilt for choice with the many options that are still all around. I just hope we don’t get completely rained out! Thanks again 😊
Great positive attitude. You’re right that it’s sad about the closed down restaurants, but equally correct that we are spoilt for choice all around Sanur. There really is something for everyone.
I love the Metersari Beach area and if not staying nearby always like a walk along there. It was good to see over the fence as I am not tall enough 😂. Thanks for the very informative walk. I learnt some new things and it was also nice to see the northern end of the path. I haven’t been that far but may venture there next time. I hope you were able to enjoy a few cold beers after your long walk.
Thank you Adam, another awesome video. I feel like I owe you a cold beer after that considerable effort (I have liked and shared for you). Your comments about the Kejora Suites were coincidentally interesting. We also hear constant great things about the place and as a result, are likely to try it later in the year.
great vid once again mate , i actually stayed at the villa shanti on new years eve just gone , was a great vibe on the beach path , lots of fireworks , i mean lots ha ha
I’ll have to check it out! I’ve never heard of it, so it’s nice to have that recommendation. Thanks! I just looked it up on Google maps, but it didn’t come up. Where exactly is it? In the bunch of warungs where jack fish is?
Another great 😊video again Thanks Adam As I do no the area well As you walk from the bottom right around to say, I call the top The big hotel development mentality will happen all the way one day But the original Sanur calm beautiful transformation of sit anywhere enjoy the small businesses will be the sad loss to the new comers with no idea the paradise Lost Thanks again
Yeah that’s what people call progress I suppose. The good thing about Sanur is that it has an absolutely massive expanse of beachfront so you can always choose an area that suits your preferences. People who prefer the warung on the beach experience will probably prefer Pantai Bangsal now…
It's a long walk but worth it. Watching this has me itching to get back to Sanur again. Next time wear your hat and sunscreen!. We walked from Bali Festival Park back to Icon without water. Loooooong walk with not much to see. But worth it to see the black sands switch back to white along the way. Bali Festival Park is another interesting place to look at before it completely collapses or is shut down and bulldozed. It has an interesting history with very rare old photos and videos of it operating 25 years ago. Time and the elements have taken a huge toll on the structures.
@SanurDiaries i did find this video that shows the original roller-coaster. I couldn't see any evidence or remnants of this on the day we visited. Locals believe its haunted and it is truly getting to being in such a state of disrepair that it could be considered dangerous if something does collapse when someone is underneath. Crazy to think it's only 30 years old and almost gone. m.ua-cam.com/video/TqMpAlkkl_U/v-deo.html
Thanks for a very informative video Adam, really enjoyed it, I am with you, I am not a fan of Icon either. We enjoy a walk along most of the beach path most mornings and even in the evenings. It is what makes Sanur so outstanding. Looking forward to the extra path being constructed in the north. Thanks again!
I just looked at blurry satellite images from 1985 and it was very quiet. I can’t imagine what it would have been like in 1973. Enjoy those memories and embrace the nostalgia. It can never be like that again.
Yeah I’ve actually considered doing that, but it can be very awkward carrying a camera into most places… I generally don’t film when there are a bunch of other people around.
First trip to Bali and staying in Sanur for 7 nights. Wife and two adult kids. Hotel recommendations? Hyatt off the table ... Quiet and chill close to great food and vibe. Been watching all your videos to figure it out. Help.
Without knowing what you like and your budget, I can recommend 2 different places. Hotel 1O1 in the centre and Kamboja Homestay in the south. Different budgets and locations but both well regarded.
@SanurDiaries I would love to be at the Hyatt but that is a little too expensive. Ha ha. Thanks. I'll check them out. Otherwise it might be a cheaper one on the beach ... But I guess they are not quiet
I was hoping that the whole stretch of Sanur would be like that area in front of Meru, just a clean empty beach. If u go to Da Nang, or Nha Trang in vietnam even Cha Am in Thailand they are really doing better with their beach front management.
This is a fantastic video.Really informative. I am still confused as to whether to stay at Puri Gopa near Semawang and Duyung or stay at Laghawa Inn central Sanur beach.
You sound like my wife, she couldn't decide, so for our 29 day stay she has booked 5 places in Sanur and 1 on Nusa Lembogan LOL Different price points.
That’s a tough one. It depends on how mobile you are. I generally prefer the southern end, but with the restaurants at Duyung gone, that leaves a bit of a hole in eating options along the beach in the south. If eating along the beach is important to you, I’d probably stay further north around Sindhu. Mainly because Laghawa area (Pantai Karang) is even more devoid of eateries than Duyung. If you don’t care about beach dining, I think the south is still an excellent place.
@SanurDiaries Wow thanks heaps for the insight Adam you are a legend ✨ Might give Karang a miss then .The south looks like it has more rustic charm. Although leisurely strolls to nearby beach restaurants in the afternoon with sunsets and glass of wine in hand could sway me more towards the north 😂 Once again thanks for the tip I'll be shouting you a beer as well cheers 🍻
Great update Thankyou. Google maps says 48mins from Prama to Pantai segara. What walking pace would that be do you think? If one hires a bike for the day are you permitted to take into restaurants/markets? Just wondering if left outside the chances of them getting nicked!
Prama to Segara in 48 minutes isn’t a stroll, but it is doable if you keep a steady walking pace and don’t stop all the time to look at things. Most places will allow you to store your bike safely whether that be within your sight or storing it around the back somewhere. Not sure how often bicycles get nicked but helmets get nicked all the time.
The Prama breakfast is not the best, as like you said Adam , it gets too packed and its like a large cruise ship buffet slop . The pools are great , but the rooms needs a paint and renovation ... I stay there for the location on the beach, for cheaper room rates and the Happy hour drinks with old mate on roller blades poolside serving them up creates a good atmosphere
My wife booked the Prama and read the reviews and cancelled. I guess if you want a nice modern room on the beach it's going to cost closer to $200 a night.
Thanks for the tip Adam..you deserve a bucket of Bintangs..hope this covers it 🍻 Cheers from Tracy Cairns Australia 🍻
Thanks Tracy for the support! Definitely will get me a few Bintangs. 😎
Thanks Adam for your very informative video, looking forward to your next video.
Thanks! I’m working on one right now…
Great walk and chat, you definately earned a beer or two! Thanks Adam
Cheers, thanks for watching!

That sounds amazing! Thanks for the recommendation. Hopefully it’ll help others make a good decision about where to stay.

I love the maps in between the vid. Usually I have to look it up myself when you talk about a place :P
Glad you like them!

Nice one!
Thanks Adam, warung Gödel near Jack fish down southern end is a great warung for dumplings.
I’ll have to check it out! I’ve never heard of it, so it’s nice to have that recommendation. Thanks!
I just looked it up on Google maps, but it didn’t come up. Where exactly is it? In the bunch of warungs where jack fish is?
@ yes you passed it on your long walk
Heading from south pass jackfish and it’s about another 5 or so Warungs along.
Saw it today. Thanks for the tip.
Great update thank-you!!
Glad you liked it!
Good view🎉😊
Great walk review Adam👍🏻

Yeah that area is definitely a bit of a time capsule. I haven’t been there yet, but have seen other videos on it.

I stayed at the Hyatt in 1973 when I was 16, There wasn't much else around that area then.
I just looked at blurry satellite images from 1985 and it was very quiet. I can’t imagine what it would have been like in 1973. Enjoy those memories and embrace the nostalgia. It can never be like that again.
good vlog adam
Thanks Steve.
Wow - I just realized you skip to review Bali Beach Hotel (next to The Meru), I am planning to go there next week and now I am re-consider it 😆
Hehe. Depends on what you like I suppose. Many Indonesians love those hotels!
Would be good to do an Aussie style pub crawl. 1 Bintang at every bar along the way and see how far you get.
Yeah I’ve actually considered doing that, but it can be very awkward carrying a camera into most places… I generally don’t film when there are a bunch of other people around.
@ 😂😂😂 wait till I get over next time and we’ll have a crack at it. Leave the camera at home we don’t want any incriminating evidence 🤪😜😂🍺🍺🍺
That’s because you are thoughtful and classy Adam. You are a great content creator
That was cool ,,😊
Thanks!

Hi! Ive been wintering here for the first time and just found your series - thanks so much for all the info.
Name and location of the cinema?! :)
It’s called Cinema XXI and it’s in the big new mall, which is called the Icon Mall. Nice modern cinema with undubbed movies.
I was hoping that the whole stretch of Sanur would be like that area in front of Meru, just a clean empty beach. If u go to Da Nang, or Nha Trang in vietnam even Cha Am in Thailand they are really doing better with their beach front management.
Yeah, most of the beach in Sanur has something on it ranging from fishing boats to decks. That area around Meru is one of the emptiest.
Gotta check out the paraigata hotel, up the lane next to maya, half the price, more Balinese, more local and friendly and same beach acess
Sounds like a great option - I'll have to check it out!
This is a fantastic video.Really informative.
