I heard once that "im down with brown town" has to do with coming off of a heroin high. Someone told me this song was about their previous addictions to the drug
I love the subtle “it’s only seconds away” from at the end from will during the brown town part. It’s a reference to “brown town” the song is next on the song list and the current song is going to be over in a couple seconds. Also brown town is a reference to heroine.
As happy as I am that you're listening through Happiness, I absolutely can't wait for Mothership. You've still got this one and three more before you get there though... Hope you keep going on long enough to hear that masterpiece. 100% their best work.
@@ggr9745 Whilst I don't think this, some people would probably say that's unnecessary lol. I'd say it would be neat to do though since there are differences between the two, and considering he's listened to so much of this sort of music already, he would probbaly pick them up easily.
Great vid like always, also the line "I'm down with browntown" is a reference to heroin if I'm not mistaken. Some of the lyrics on this album are just weird in general but the ones that don't make a lot of sense have some type of meaning underneath it. Also the noise at the end is probably an effect that's meant to resemble feedback from the guitar amp.
Thanks one of my all time DGD faves in the books! Just all around tremendous instrumental and vocal work by the guys on this one. The outro to this song leads perfectly into the next song which is "I'm Down With Brown Town" lol. Would be nice to see DGD more than once a week here but i get it, a variety of songs is nice to have too.
You should definitely check out Woe is Me: & Delinquents music video. Along with the entire “Numbers” album. Still one of the best albums to ever come out in this genre
Ufff!! You're about to dive straight into the funk with the next song! I've had Kurt crash at my place during their off days on tour for his solo stuff and he said while writing and recording this album mushrooms were a big part of it and its mostly a blur to him.
Was just listening to this a bit ago. Love that you doing a deep dive of DGD’s work. There’s so much great music. I hope you do more reactions to Alesana though. I would do either Ambrosia for earlier stuff or Oh, How the Mighty Have Fallen for newer stuff.
that guitar thing at the end is just feedback i think. you hold the guitar up to a loud speaker or amp and the pickups pick up the sound and start getting screechy. it kills at live shows
The consistency of how great each and every one of their songs is always tends to blow minds. But since we are getting DGD once a week why not try listening to DGDs side project Secret Band. It consists of Will Swan, Matt Mingus, Jon Mess along with 2 others whoms names I dont remember at the moment. But it's basically DGD without Tillian. It's all Mess and it's so much heavier! I reccomend the song Upgrades or Lightning!
You should react to Sevendust - Black, or even Denial or Praise. Just found your channel and you got some good content that’s underrated. Hope to see your channel grow!
The thing that I love about this album, is that there isn't a single bad song on it. Everything at the bare minimum is rock solid.
I have never once skipped a single song on this album, i know it forward and backward

I think he meant 2.0 instead of the original when he gets there

I’m down with brown town is foreshadowing the next track. Which is called “I’m down with brown town”

Also why did you do your outro twice 🤣😂
