Bought the same gauge installed tapped into the negative white wire on the coil, tbi 350 gauge works but will randomly spike rpm on gauge when car is at idle.
That's strange.

My one has got 5 wires as well instead of 4.
I have the exact same Rev counter.. How do you set the gauge for 4 cylinder. My gauge came with no intructions
Hey, sorry it took so long to get back to you!
Press and hold the up and down buttons at the same time for more than 2 seconds. This will unlock Setup Mode. Once in this mode, pressing the down button will change the number of cylinders. Match the number on the gauge with the number of cylinders you have. If no buttons are pressed for 5 seconds, it will leave Setup Mode and save your selection.
If you have anymore questions, let me know. These gauges have quite a bit of features.
I have the same tack,but the wiring on it is red,black,orange,green,but I don't have a orange wire it's yellow, so is the yellow the same as the orange?
I would guess that's the case.

Did it not come with instructions on how to set it up? The 2 buttons on the right are used in the process. Im not sure that I still have the instructions myself.
Hey i had this on my car when i bought it and it isn't working anymore and i couldn't find the wires to the fuse box how could i reset it and connect it again.?

I have the same exact meter , my question is I have 1980 c10 but it’s has a ls 5.3 , where would I connect the green wire ?
Are you running the 5.3l stock with EFI and ecu or conversion to carb? The type of management system will decide that.
I got the same gauge only I can not figure out the green wire want to install on my Ford F-150 2012 single cab . Please can get any help. Thank you.
The green wire will go to an engine speed (rpm) source. You can find this a few different ways. In your case, I would either splice into a coil pack wire or a wire that runs to the original tachometer. Use a volt tester pen and tap into the wire's connection with the engine running. If you find a wire for the engine speed, the tester light will flash repeatedly at the pace of the engine speed.

Ay bro I Bought something called called a Toyota Tazz, it's carburettor run and I can't find where the engine speed thing is
See if there's a black wire connected to the distributor. Tap into that and see if you get some readings.
Mine came with no directions how do you set the shift light or does it do automatically any help would be appreciated

I believe you would need to install a Diesel Tachometer Adapter, and wire the tachometer to that

To my knowledge, you'll need a tachometer driver (adapter). I would use the instructions that comes with it.
Where did you get that tach from I like the black out face when it’s off
Ebay... 3.5" tachometer. Has 7 different colors, shift light, warning light, buzzer, and logs data

What kind of signal comes out from the negative side of the coil? is it a pulsating signal? I'm looking for such an rpm signal for my Arduino.

I don't remember which brand it was, but I got it on either Amazon or Ebay.
Question--- I need a tachometer just for timing. Can I plug the tachometer to the " battery " side of my HEI distributor, then unplug it after I'm finished?. Dont really want it inside. Of course I'll also use the " tach" plug on the distributor as well----
I would imagine that'd work. I usually use the coil connectors

No orange wire ,mine is yellow like yours,you never metion they are the same!

Mine is like yours no orange its yellow,I just put the wite and yellow on power when I turn the ignition on. It has a dimmer,on the tac on it any way,
