It was my first bike I was 13 so I didn’t know any better had no father around!!
I had a 1882 xr 80 it had white plates and 80 on the seat with the honda gold wing on the tank. Best times of my life.
From 1972 I learnt to ride on the Honda SL70 and XR75.
I love this channel and these guys. Brings back such great memories, but that’s not the original paint on the tank. I had an 82 XR80 and the original tank was two toned red and black. The black was on the top of the tank.
Just brought my girls a 81 xr 80 in immaculate condition but I can't bring myself to let them ride it it's to good 😂😂🇭🇲🇭🇲 keep it up Ken god bless U guys and the vintage movement 🇺🇸

I started my son out on a brand new ttr 90 then moved up to a xr 100 had suspension done jetted big gun exhaust different gearing full knobbies. We did a lot of woods riding he had no problem keeping up with me on my cr250r that was setup for the woods. You can not kill these bikes best line up Honda had that's why still making them today.

Thanks for sharing NICE! Growing up for me its was a 1974 XR75 loved it. I slept with it in the garage the first night because my father would not let me bring it into my bedroom. Saving enough money for a DG pipe that I remember installing but my father wouldn't let me ride it in the background for it seemed like eternity. "It's too early wait awhile".
My first and only bike growing up, in 2007 I got it for free from my dads friend 8 years old, still have it to this day, after years of me and my best friend taking turns running from the police & tearing up the neighborhood, still starts up after a carb tune, recently tore it all apart, going for the xr75 mini racer style!
Had one, and an xr 75.. I swear, whoever skipped lunch that day would win the race when we raced them head to head.. 👍
Great video love the Huey Lewis music playing xr 80 was the first bike I ever rode but it was an 81 still cool enough to get me hooked on 2wheels keep up the good work restoring the classics 👍🏼

Great video, that bike is actually 1979 model, as the later ones had the mufler up next rear fender. My first 80cc was a new 1982 model, before switching to 2 strokes
I have a 79 XR 80 and I'm a bit confused with this bike on the video. My front number plate is square & black & the tank said Honda in big letters with no wing and a black stripe. I believe they tucked the exhaust up in the frame in 1980 and had the wing on the tank decal. I would like to see the frame decal.
So u can put a xr100 cylinder to the xr80 ?
I was 12 back then and I was even luckier Ihad an 82 yz80j I learned quickly on that sucker...my friend had one of those xr80s...super stealthy you could ride it and not piss off the neighbors

Mine I was told and I don’t know or remember but was a Yamaha mx 100 I was told a two stroke!!! You tell me ??? I always put oil mix into the tank but maybe that’s why the head blew eventually and after that I always had problems with it!!!
Should have been good premixed..maybe you ran it too lean needs to smoke
