    This is just about what i was imagining doing with a sportster. Hard tail with a springer front, vintage horn and big fenders but keeping the normal controls.
    Really cool build man

      Being a 2000 with alternator on crank a divorce should be practical but as that machine is finished it's sellable as-is. A divorced gearbox requires a much different big twin style frame doing another project would double the pay off. Ironheads go cheap and their tendency to break out the transmission case provided the first divorced trans donors. shortsters.com/ has amputation instructions for those interested. Softail gearboxes with a kicker are affordable and can be had with aftermarket six-speeds. It might be interesting to use a Twin Cam transmission because of how the case mounts.

    That's one of the better Sportsters dressed up as a big twin. Check the xlforum for other faux-50s mods like rounding the fins (there's one very nice job by a biker from Japan who hand filed his). If you want more metal the rubbermounts have large fins to customize.

    There's a company that makes different style rocker boxes for these Evo Sporty engines. You can get Panhead, Shovelhead or Ironhead look alikes, just for that extra bit of old school cool.

      Hi dude, thanks for your input, for sure I preferred it with the front fender off, gives it a very different look, however, we build what the customer wants..not what we or anyone else wants. These are in production with various options, including front & rear fenders, colour , exhaust, bars. If you want us to do a build for you without this front fender give me a call. Cheers

    It's an absolutely beautiful bike.
    You say you don't need more than 883...... I have a 1200 Shovel, a 1340 Shovel and I recently bought a 1600 Shovel. You need more..... ALWAYS 😂😅

    • @gasolineallyspeedshop8626
      @gasolineallyspeedshop8626  28 днів тому

      😆...thank you for the heads-up on the build, normally we would also go for a bigger engine.& more power.....always as you say. I just felt at the 80mph mark with the springer/hardtail/wide tyre situation/wide bars (just under a meter) anything quicker might catch your average rider out, but hey..the next one is a 1200 motor and I will let you know! Keep an eye out for the video incoming. Once again, thank you for your comments, much appreciated

    • @ollelindskog4531

      @@gasolineallyspeedshop8626 You don't have to go fast because you have a big engine, but the torque in the bigger engines are nice to have. On my 1200 I also have rigid frame and springer. I think my bar is a meter as well. This one is much more precise and direct than my 1600 Electra with worn out shocks.
      Be careful out there. There's hundreds of bikes, but only one life.

    Its amazing really, how people still seem to prefer the piles of plastic slapped all over their bikes instead of this kind of thing, and I personally just cannot work out why manufacturers dont go back to this style of machine...

      @@gasolineallyspeedshop8626 Mate, I'm not much of a marketing guru, but one thing I can say for certain is that if you were to turn out your own bobbed versions of the old 30's hardtail knuckleheads with split tanks and 16" tyres on springers to the quality you built this bike you would not be able to to keep up with demand. There will always be a niche market of bikers who hate these silly plastic crotch rockets and want to go back to simpler times.

    • @gasolineallyspeedshop8626
      @gasolineallyspeedshop8626  20 днів тому

      @@KRAMPUS1933 Thank you for that dude, I think your spot on there. certainly there has been a massive amount of interest. Its a route we want to go, with this range, the key is sizing the frame up to the right proportions. I don't know what you think, but when you look at those knuckleheads in their original form they look great....until someone sits on one then they look way to small! Keep a eye out for more versions
