Just the fact that Theresa Saldana was willing to play herself in her own biopic, and going through the same situation again, makes this all the more heart-wrenching and authentic.

She was incredibly brave not just here in the movie. She played herself twice. She also revisited this in an episode of Hunter. For some crime victims it is therapeutic to face things head on as Theresa did by playing herself. I was sadden when I heard she had passed on. May she rest in peace.

Wow, I didn’t realize that, but when I googled her, I saw she looked identical! I was amazed they found an actress that looked just like her. Yes very authentic movie for sure. I don’t like the husband and that he claims he’s there for her, but really he’s emotionally distant, just like my husband began doing after just couple of years of marriage. Then lots of infidelities. Marriage sucks...now after I got cancer and stopped earning big bucks, he wants out and take my savings.

Interesting excerpt from IMDB: While the lunatic was struggling with Saldana on her front lawn, a bottled-water deliveryman was driving by. He rushed to Saldana's assistance, subdued the lunatic and summoned medical help for her. When the media reported that the young deliveryman had hoped to pass the exam for deputy sheriff and join the department, the sheriff of Los Angeles County ordered that he be immediately given the written exam and placed in the training academy. He graduated from the academy and became a deputy sheriff.

Earlier this year, I was in Chicago, with my daughter and granddaughters. I lost my balance and fell face first in the middle of the street. To give credit, many people surrounded me to see how they could help. Two gentlemen came up to me and lifted me up. Especially one man that helped me up was very concerned. He kept asking me if I was okay. My lower lip was so swollen it looked like a had a tongue sticking out of my mouth because that's how large it got. I have been left with some permanent damage. One of my twin granddaughters thought it was her fault. I did everything to help her realize it wasn't. I will never be able to thank these strangers that didn't hesitate to help me. Humanity is still good.

What a courageous woman to portray herself so convincingly after this traumatic incident. She's a heroine / female hero. I see a lot of comments focusing on the negative, but try to re-enact what happened which was so horrifying to endure / recuperate from not only takes lots of courage, but it also takes lots of endurance to complete and follow through. Bravo. It was very enlightening to see this. Wonderful film for everyone, not just "victims" of crime. Having seen this made me a better person just a little bit. Adrian Zmed is a veteran actor from TJ Hooker and Teresa Saldana was not a B-film or low-budget-film actress, but appeared with Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci in 1 major film and with Jan Michael Vincent in another one and continued with her acting, not letting her attacker "win" by stifling her career

The screening for blood transfusions for HIV was obsolete at that time. Especially in LA when basically a blood transfusion meant a death sentence. She was constantly being fed blood to keep her alive. And dying from pneumonia from stab wounds is extremely rare. It could of been that. This beautiful lady didn't deserve this. She is a angel.

The things this gorgeous woman went through is were horrific. I think it is the grace of god that Theresa had a bystander save her life. The real Jeff Fenn went on from his job as water cooler delivery man to a LA Sheriff's Department deputy. Theresa Saldana attended his training academy graduation. In 1985, Deputy Fenn received acclaim on the job for using CPR to successfully resuscitate an infant who had been found submerged in a tub. In March, 1996 Deputy Fenn was the victim of a severe beating at the hands of Jonathan Covington at the elementary school where both men had children enrolled. Covington repeatedly kneed the off duty Fenn in the mouth. He received an eight year sentence for mayhem and battery.

12 years was a ridiculous slap on the hand. Had the water guy not intervened she would have died right there in front of the spineless watching. Ridiculous. RIP Theresa and thank you for your courage and movement.

It rasy for you to say spineless when you weren't really there. If you were there, fear may have gripped you too. You never really know how reality will effect you until your living the reality.

@I. Wynn Wynn I feel sad for you. God is real. I have seen him work many times in my life. Satan rules this world and he is who gave that horrible man the idea to try and kill that poor woman. God gives us free will and he knew that sick discusting man was going to do what he did. God put the water guy there and gave him the courage to not turn his back like other people did. God is real and he loves you. You may not believe it but I do. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. I will pray that you are lead by God to your salvation

@@nicolesaylor4027 I'm not against god, or any religion really, as long as the people worshipping aren't complete judgmental basket cases...but it wasn't god that made that man rush over to help...where is god when babies are getting raped, trafficked, where is god with all this insane shit going on right now? Covid (plague), floods, fires, drought, famine, earthquakes, explosions, landslides, mudslides, bombs, war, weird ass tornados in Iowa, killing half their crops that produce for mannnyyy many people,is this the part of the bible that we are all suppose to have faith in??? Because I have heard many people who are 100% on board with the lord, that this is just the end of times. And they're just cool with it, they pray for the baby who was shot, they pray for the baby who drowned, they pray for the mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son etc who had died, but...why? If anyone TRULY worships God and the bible, then they should be totally cool with all of the 'evil' happening, cuz that's just how it goes. It's fucking alllll ridiculous!! Things like this don't happen because of God, shit just happens. No one is protected in an un-ideal situation most of the time. I'm just sad for everything happening around us. But God does not help me personally to deal with these things. Kudos to whoever does feel better with his blessing.

    People are afraid
    and have been for a
long time, I was beaten repeatable in public and private. and set on fire just my right hand and foot. A beating caused me to have vertebrae separations.
I was almost chopped up in squares and put in a hotel bed mattress.
    I lost my children.
I had no family and new nothing about the outside world.
    I had no friends,
no one to stand up for me. no were else to go. when I was police escorted to a battered protection woman's shelter, he found me and they told me go outside and talk to him. They sent me to the man that was going to kill me. He gave me a choice, go with him or we would all die,and he would have easily done so. needless to say, I walked away, never going back to that place. I finally got away. but lost my children to DHS.
    God bless you all
that are in an abusive situation.
    Don't Stay, Run,
I Mean Run, With Your Children And you, your Identifications. nothing else, somewhere they don't know. someone they don't know, don't tell any one.except family.
Theresa Saldana, I Appreciate your Story and braveness.
    thank you.

I feel bad for her former husband. She was definitely the victim, but that disgusting monster not only attempted to murder Theresa but he also stole Freddy's marriage to Theresa. Everything was stolen from that marriage the second the monster approached this innocent woman. He victimized them both.
