Or live as a tenant with total stranger... My landlord was mentally unstable under therapy which I didn't know at the time. One day, she left me out of the flat, in my pyjamas, and went to my room, throwing my things around. All I could hear from the outside her crying without letting me back in.
Mental illness is real!! I was so mad when Patti didn't fight back hard enough at first but it's shocking to deal with someone like that and at the end when she asked her to hold her I cried because I have a nephew with mental illness and they make you both angry and feel bad for them 😢😢
Very true. I remember when this film debuted & it disturbed me in a strange way. Its shocked me the way the law was on the side of the disturbed person & NOT the owner! I hated that she killed the woman's cat....but also hated that she retaliated by killing Romeo the mouse. I know that people can escape your radar, but this young woman acted REALLY bizarrely from almost the beginning, even before she agreed to let her move in. There has to be easier & safer ways to pay the mortgage than rent to strangers. But the ending made me cry....& still does. Because the disturbed young woman was indeed mentally-ill & was dying....kudos to the older woman for having the compassion that the young woman did not.
All these people saying "oh just evict her, she's crazy" America has shit laws that protect the renter even squatters rights. You can be kicked out of yr own house with a restraining order.
@@cathybassett6432. Normal renters, this is a psycho. And, even with leases reviewed by legal counsel and signatures, it is VERY difficult to to evict people.
I must agree. I warned my own neighbors about this: Its insane how many rights people can have if you let them stay with you......& I am not even talking about LEGAL renters! You can experience a problem if you allow the person to get their mail where you live! It actually establishes residency! So if you allow someone to stay with you, MAKE SURE THEY GET A P.O. BOX! Otherwise it could be disastrous.
@@cathybassett6432 It depends on the state & the lease. In my state, it can take a minimum of 90 days to 6 months to evict someone! Its ridiculous. Even if you are not a legal renter, the squatter's rights here are ludicrous. Allowing the person or persons to get their mail delivered in your home ESTABLISHES RESIDENCY! Just say no!
My best friends mother, whom I loved dearly, is a doppelganger to Lindsay Crouse. Do not move strangers into your home, my mother did this after the death of my father with the intention of making a little money to supplement her widows benefits. Crimes were terrible crimes were committed against me, and my mom. People stole everything my father worked for on top of the other crimes. I still suffer to this day over what happened. Better off to get a job anywhere, go to church, community get together, volunteer for something, get a pet, anything, just please don't move strangers into your home.
I had bad experience I can understand this woman well . I had to kick a woman out with 20 people as evidence what she did to me I was helping her out I only said for little while I tell you never trust to let anyone in your home . In reality things like this actually happen. I had good supportive friends better live alone then with a nightmare .
I was getting so angry watching this lol.. I had to remind myself it’s just a movie. But she took way too long to start fighting for herself. Good movie tho.
Seriously one of the best landlord/tenant suspense films ever made! The tenant made my blood boil. Acting from both ladies was superb, and the writers were clever but kept it all believable. The line at the end when she says "I can't catch a break.." was a great finishing touch to the story! 5 stars!
My mother and I are going through this right now with a tenant. He is scary beyond belief and we pray we can get him out and that he will not come back to hurt us. Crazy just like this woman.
My significant other told me if you pull a knife on someone you better start using it or they'll grab it from you, which is exactly what happened in the opening scene! That's solid advice!
I've never heard of any of these actors but they were all so professional. Great editing, camera and sound. Was this made for Cable or network TV? Well done, good script and acting.
Lol 😂😂😂 For some reason, I've had an addiction to old made-for-tv movies the past few days. Normally, I don't even like watching movies anymore. It's weird.

That lady needed to be disallowed to live unsupervised and unmedicated. People like that should not be permitted to live on their own in society! Personal experience with an ex who lived on his own and ultimately, allegedly molested my daughters friend and ended up in jail at which time I divorced him.
I never understood the whole wine/books/candles/ even food in the bathtub. Why would you snack whilst bathing??? I tried reading a book once like they do in these films & all I did was get bubbles splashed on my book. No fun!
@@taracollins5597 It can't last long as well - water and bubbles cool off quickly - so you get a spoiled book, cold and a little drunk... AND not even really clean!

What a great film! The gaslighting and psychological manipulation portrayed was very realistic. I felt so sorry for the lady who owned the house, and could imagine how she was left dealing with her unbalanced lodger. Brilliant acting throughout!
WOW, great movie. Glad that wonderful lady made it out safe. The younger girl needed help and the doctors should have been more on top of things for this young girl. She did this to herself , but should have gone to the doctors like she was suppose too! GR8 ending!
So are we going to ignore that the mother and daughter kissed on the lips in the beginning 😂I mean maybe that's their thing but it was just off putting for some reason.
This movie has the most number of stupid characters - The landlady, the daughter, the husband, the police, the lawyer, the judge, the guy from laboratory. So annoying to watch.
LOL In real life, she's a weirdo who goes around claiming to be psychic, and was twice accused of kidnapping her children away from her ex. So you might be on to something!

Or live as a tenant with total stranger... My landlord was mentally unstable under therapy which I didn't know at the time. One day, she left me out of the flat, in my pyjamas, and went to my room, throwing my things around. All I could hear from the outside her crying without letting me back in.
I dont think that IS a solution.
@@Geewhizzy it certainly IS
Laura will have to be kept in the lock castle with a mask, straitjacket, and a chain for eternity.
And in the attic just like in the 1800’s
I was worried she wasn’t going to figure out the apples at the end whew
This is an excellent movie I enjoyed it!!!
Mental illness is real!! I was so mad when Patti didn't fight back hard enough at first but it's shocking to deal with someone like that and at the end when she asked her to hold her I cried because I have a nephew with mental illness and they make you both angry and feel bad for them 😢😢
Very true
Good scenario The landlady and the tenant are good actresses I like this movie. Thanks.
All these people saying "oh just evict her, she's crazy" America has shit laws that protect the renter even squatters rights. You can be kicked out of yr own house with a restraining order.
Renters have very few rights if they rent legally.
An old English law re squattets rights. It make no sense to me at all.
How can we live in a society where someone rents someones home and get away with crap n psychos everywhere
Oh god. Just past halfway through and was not prepared for that. Excellent movie, excellent acting, they don't make them like they used to.
I was getting so angry watching this lol.. I had to remind myself it’s just a movie. But she took way too long to start fighting for herself. Good movie tho.
If this woman started fighting for herself sooner, what any sane person would do, there wouldn't be a movie.

great movie finally!!!!!! old movies always have good actors!!!
We are glad you enjoyed it!
No wonder so many people are alone and lonely
People renting a room and expecting the tenant to keep away of certain areas without locks. Good luck! Very few people respect such rules.
Seriously one of the best landlord/tenant suspense films ever made! The tenant made my blood boil. Acting from both ladies was superb, and the writers were clever but kept it all believable. The line at the end when she says "I can't catch a break.." was a great finishing touch to the story! 5 stars!
Great review..I absolutely loved the movie❤
My mother and I are going through this right now with a tenant. He is scary beyond belief and we pray we can get him out and that he will not come back to hurt us. Crazy just like this woman.
@Films 4 You
8 out of 10 movies I absolutely love!
Great selection.
Thank you!

My significant other told me if you pull a knife on someone you better start using it or they'll grab it from you, which is exactly what happened in the opening scene! That's solid advice!
I love these movies where the roommate turns out to be a psycho!
Very scary , I wouldn't let anyone to my home. Don't trust.
I've never heard of any of these actors but they were all so professional. Great editing, camera and sound. Was this made for Cable or network TV? Well done, good script and acting.
Actually the blonde woman is in lots of tv shows, had straight hair before.
I'm getting my PHd in Lifetime movies 🎥
Lol 😂🤣 So am I!
Me too
This is so funny, but you most probably could, for real. Which is not funny.
Please reserve a spot for me 😂
Lol 😂😂😂
For some reason, I've had an addiction to old made-for-tv movies the past few days. Normally, I don't even like watching movies anymore. It's weird.
The scariest is not knowing who someone really is.
I remember laying in bed on Lifetime Sunday's watching this movie w/ my mom
It doesn't get any better than that
@@YeaItsMe21Wholeheartedly agree.I miss my Mum .😢
"LYING" in bed; not "LAYING,"
I am extremely against harming innocent creatures in labs or any way shape or form! That scene grieved me along with all the other disturbing parts of this movie
Ugh narcissistic psychopath reminds me of a past mentor who put me through horrid abuse and gaslighting
That lady needed to be disallowed to live unsupervised and unmedicated. People like that should not be permitted to live on their own in society! Personal experience with an ex who lived on his own and ultimately, allegedly molested my daughters friend and ended up in jail at which time I divorced him.
Lifetime began the squatter renter movement. I love this movie.
There are some people who claim to love animals but do x have a ounce of care for people. Strange...
She didn’t care about animals she killed a cat
Another great movie is House of Games. She plays a psychiatrist who comes to the aid of a compulsive gambler. It's a mystery thriller.
I love that movie❤
Bubble bath, candles, glass of wine:
bath time in the movies!
Exactly, lol, who in his right mind would light up 30 candles to clean up the mess afterwords in the bathroom!
I never understood the whole wine/books/candles/ even food in the bathtub. Why would you snack whilst bathing??? I tried reading a book once like they do in these films & all I did was get bubbles splashed on my book. No fun!
@@taracollins5597 It can't last long as well - water and bubbles cool off quickly -
so you get a spoiled book, cold and a little drunk... AND not even really clean!
@@AnnabelleJARankin You're right about the bubbles vanishing & definitely water-cooling! Not to mention most tubs leave half-the-body out of the water lol...what idiot designed standard tubs?!!! Or was everyone 4' 2" feet tall back then?? But actually I learned one does get basically clean, because most bubble-baths are made with soap! :)
@@taracollins5597 Hugs 🤗 from where I live in Malta!
What a great film!
The gaslighting and psychological manipulation portrayed was very realistic. I felt so sorry for the lady who owned the house, and could imagine how she was left dealing with her unbalanced lodger. Brilliant acting throughout!
I watch these movies and wonder why anyone would rent a room or want to be a landlord. It's not worth it.
An outstanding thriller with a great plot and actors
It's a wonderful movie thanks for sharing💙💙💙
Not a good idea too move a stranger into your home.its like inviting door number 3 into your home ,u dont know them and dont know what your getting.
I do not want
a roommate

NEVER EVER EVER BRING A STRANGE IN YOUR HOME. There’s others ways to help.
Such a good movie,it taught me to never to rent a room out no matter how bad you needed money.
WOW, great movie. Glad that wonderful lady made it out safe. The younger girl needed help and the doctors should have been more on top of things for this young girl. She did this to herself , but should have gone to the doctors like she was suppose too! GR8 ending!
2nd time i watching this EXCELLENT 🎥 its a MUST WATCH ❤
Very interesting movie.
Thank you for watching
So are we going to ignore that the mother and daughter kissed on the lips in the beginning 😂I mean maybe that's their thing but it was just off putting for some reason.
Very scary situation 😨
Having person in
my home would make me
uneasy
This movie has the most number of stupid characters - The landlady, the daughter, the husband, the police, the lawyer, the judge, the guy from laboratory. So annoying to watch.
😅
Great one, great story line. Thank you.
This actress used to play psycho roles in every mo😮vie she made , I wonder if she’s really like this
lmaoo i wouldnt be surprised
Probably.
LOL In real life, she's a weirdo who goes around claiming to be psychic, and was twice accused of kidnapping her children away from her ex. So you might be on to something!
The disrespect of ol girl was wild lol.
Two movies i know this girl came in she’s the crazy girl 🤣🤣… The Wrong Girl, in 1999 and this movie 🤣

I never would have been so kind at the end. I would have left the needle in and laughed
I know this is a movie, but the daughter & ex husband were real pieces of work and not supporting her p*ssed me off.
The fact that tenants have more rights than the homeowner makes me feel nauseous.🤢🤮
What's more scary is that there's sickos like this out there IRL.

One thing landlords can do is raise the rent to get someone out.
