The cool thing about meta is that the great support for their product. They improve their products vastly in future updates and care for their products so much.
I'm glad that quest 2 is still getting love I really don't need a quest 3 .... especially just for a few exclusives... And with over 60 million quest 2's out there....it's not dead yet
I'm sorry but the difference is literally night and day. Sure Quest 2 is a cool introduction to VR, Quest 3 set the standard for wireless headsets I could never go back. The pancake lenses alone are a godsend
I think the number is more along 20 million for the entire Quest lineup from Q1, but I wouldn't be shocked if Q2 already crossed 20 million at this point. Quest 2 has the largest install base of VR users to date and sold headsets. Rivaling Xbox Series S|X in sales I don't think devs and Meta will abandon it any time soon.
Honestly the only issue i have with the ui now is audio adjustment for game and mic settings for recordings, and not being able to pin more than 3 apps when theres space for 2/3 more apps but the store and horizon feed are permanently pined on your home menu bar. the only improvement they could have made with v.67 is a toggle for locking app windows in place so they stay attached to the menu when moved and unlocked will allow the app windows to stay in that space in real time. God i hope they reduce the latency with bluetooth headphones
Yeah, the permanently pinned icons on the taskbar are annoying with limited space and to me a corporate decision. Being able to adjust app/mic audio recording is coming though not sure if it's v68 tho. With Bluetooth, at least, audio latency will always be present no matter what. You can mitigate this as some earbuds Meta co-branded use a 2.4GHz adapter to plug into the USB C port. I have a bunch of wireless earbuds ranging from Airpods Pro, Samsung, JBL, and Bose. Personally, the latency is that bad, and I currently use Apple's wired earbuds with an EQ. It makes them miles better than the base audio solution currently on Quest.
I got my new quest 3 and the controller tracking is so bad, so I can't even beat some leves in beatsaber that I can beat very easily on quest 2. So I pray I learn playing on quest 3 controllers, so I can beat something at least
Same! The thing is from my experience at least you just have to hope that the tracking is consistent enough on Quest 3 so you can get a high placement on songs. Like you, I still place higher on songs with Quest 2 compared to Quest 3. I've released many videos discussing tracking issues on Quest 3 compared to Quest 2. It can be attributed to the loss of tracking rings, 1st gen controllers, tracking cameras, IMUs, etc. Meta apart from addressing the obvious issues at launch with bad tracking having admitted to it has been pretty quiet since.
@@sixtacos I guess It's sacrifice for the tracking rings. In VR you don't mind the rings, but in AR, you can still see it, so they had to remove them. I would like to Meta give us some options to fix the poor tracking - like allowing quest 2 controllers to connect to the quest 3 or make quest pro controllers cheaper.
First of all, with every update I get more happy about my Quest3. It truly is a great VR headset (well I've had several predecessors), but still it can be a bit bulky. I've been looking into XR glasses lately, mainly to use them for watching movies. Have you been looking into that or could you even try some and what are your thoughts?

Just admit it mate, Quest 3 is better than Quest 2, if Meta dev's were able to do the good things that they have done to Quest 2, there is no need for them to make it worse in the Quest 3 and not add those "good" feature into the quest 3, it wouldn't make sense as people won't buy the quest 3 and buy the 2 instead, which isn't their goal as they would have wasted billions of dollars into nothing, and I have both quest 2 and quest 3 and the tracking in quest 3 is so much better as the FPS is better and more smooth and I have played expert + on both I'm getting almost the same score, maybe even sometimes better on the quest 3.
Are you saying that's a good reason to buy a vr? Because with that logic, you might as well just buy whatever you feel like because, regardless of what it is because you already wasted $1000? I'm honestly not sure what you are trying to imply with your statement

Spotify is great as well. I also wanted to showcase some footage using it, but it got corrupted due to transferring so many large files to my PC.
