As a sales representative for MAG1 if you're going to do comparisons, then do comparisons. The Mobile 1 is a full synthetic vs MAG1 conventional is not a legitimate test.
As was stated in the video it was to disprove the rumors that mag 1 conventional oil was better then mobil 1
Mag1 full synthetic should been used in this test Mobil is a good oil but overrated Pennzoil will beat it Everytime
I have nothing but great things to say about Mobil1 full synthetic. At 122,000 miles, my car’s engine suffered a critical failure and had to be swapped. I had been thinking about switching brands and types of oil for a while. When I upgraded from a series II to series III 3800, I decided on Mobil1 full synthetic. This car drives so much better and quieter. Best decision I’ve ever made.
Just subscribed to you channel. I have been using Mobil One Synthetic oil since 1994 in all my cars. In my 1994 Honda Civic VX model , which I purchased new,(very rare model by the way) Is when I began to use Mobil One oil. I changed oil and filter every 7,500 miles. After 150,000 miles I went to adjust my valves for the first time. They appeared to all be in factory spec. I noticed the engine valve train looked brand new, unbelievable. After that I decided immediately to always use Mobil One Synthetic oil.
Have been using Mobil 1 Synthetic since Havoline Synthetic left the market (or this area) in the mid 90's & have never looked back. Great oil, very little burnoff & this was only in an older car (84 Corolla) with over 140,000 miles with zero history of it's prior usage. However what it did in that engine, after 5 changes at 3,000 miles, the oil became cleaner & cleaner with each change. 1st oil change was very dirty, so changed filter halfway through 2nd one. Eventually, the oil was almost as clean as that in my 2001 Toyota Camry with just over 84,000 miles. Amazing & I used no additional 'flush' products beforehand, nor afterwards, as some can clog oil pump filter. Better to allow the oil to do it's job.
Only difference, the 2001 Camry was purchased new by me & after break-in, Mobil 1 5W-30 Synthetic (switched to Advanced when released) has been used every 5,000 miles & babied when driving. Therefore, it uses no oil between changes. The Corolla does use a third to half quart every 5,000 miles, still better than the (conventional) quart it was consuming every 3,000 miles & engine is fairly quiet for being 37 years old, driven very hard & about to hit 380,000 miles (my daily driver). I do use other products such as fuel system cleaners prior to every oil change (RedLine) & one full 20 ounce bottle of Techron Concentrate monthly in single tank (will treat up to 20 gallons), this also contributes to a very smooth ride. Tuned to run Shell V-Power gasoline for extra cleaning power & engine performance.
Who knows, the 84 Corolla picked up for $800 may live to be yet another half million mile of it's type with only 120,000 miles to go!🤣
Many years ago Consumer Reports did oil testing. (Before synthetics). Castrol was number one and number two was Havoline. Since Havoline was more available and a good deal cheaper. I’ve used it ever since. I’m kinda new to this channel but I did not see it as one of the competitors. I own and maintain 13 vehicles. I change a lot of oil.
Thank you for your testing. I have been using mobile one in my cars as long as I can remember. And in my lawn equipment.
I appreciate your kindness it means the world to me.

I've been using Mobil one and filter in my 06 Toyota Tacoma, has 230,000 miles and it doesn't use or leak any oil.runs as good as the day I bought it.but I change it every 7000 miles.
Nor should it for time to come!👍
Above, I stated that in my 2001 Toyota Solara with (still only) just over 84,000 miles, same for me. Only difference, I change every 5,000 miles. if mostly highways driven, I'd go to 7,500 between changes.
Guess I'll have to worry more about rust eating through the chassis, bushings dry rotting & so forth before my engine goes. Rarely pushed above 70 mph & that's when passing someone.
I keep using STP since 1990...the best as my opinion.. Inside the engine very clean and wear protection very good.
K&N synthetic oil is on the way. Check out new oil testing never seen before ua-cam.com/video/8GMw6p6-UTI/v-deo.html
Can’t wait to see which oil wins the tournament and be the best oil of them all. Thanks for the great content!
K&N Engine Oil is ONLY available in modern 0w-20, 5w-20 and 5w-30 viscosities.
@@77GR1982 Thanks for this, I run 5W-30 in my work truck. K&N makes the best air filters on the market, backed by a million mile warranty! Have used their oil filters, but since I use Mobil 1, have been using their oil filters just as long.
I'd like to try their oil to see if it consumes any (versus 1/4 quart for Mobil 1 Advanced) at 7,500 mile changes.
I'm not surprised by the results. Can you do a comparison of Mobil 1 vs. Mag1 Full Synthetic or Mag1 vs. Amsoil?
Mag1 10w30 mineral contra un 10w30 full syntetyc. El que sabe de aceite sabe que el syntetic es mejor q un aceite mineral no pueden comparar asi tiene que ser los dos aceites syntetic
I am introduced to this Mag 1, from the Toyota dealership, when I asked from Rep for options as they wouldn't sell transmission oil in package.
I am into DIY stuff
Thanks for sharing
I think watching so many Scotty K videos lead me here.
You should do a 0W-40 Oil tournament next since most of the sports cars are moving towards that oil type.
Used API SP because oil chemistry changes from sn plus to sp
I used Valvoline for years, but when the dealership put their GM Dexos (Mobil 1) in my Colorado, there was a noticeable difference in the way it ran....quieter an idle and just overall smoother. I never believed the motor oil brand thing , but you can teach an old dog new tricks.
How about doing one with Mobil conventional vs Mag synthetic ?
What do you think about Idemitsu Oil? Good or not? If asked to rate between 0 - 100, what score do you give for the Idemitsu brand oil, thank you
Great question Check out new oil testing never seen before ua-cam.com/video/8GMw6p6-UTI/v-deo.html
I know a lot of people poo poo Mobil 1 as being a lesser quality oil than say Royal Purple, Redline or Amsoil, but Mobil 1 is a very high quality oil with a lot of technology put into it. Plus they made the smart marketing decision to sell it through big box retailers, like Walmart. In my area, Amsoil and Redline just aren't that readily available. Believe me, I've looked.
I run the Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil in my vehicles and I'm very satisfied with the results. Incidentally I also use Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filters on my vehicles because they are a higher quality filter than pretty much anything else on the market.
As far as a good quality conventional oil, Mag 1 is every bit as good as any other oil brand out there. It's marketed at smaller retailers, such as local gas stations, so it's fairly readily available.
Thank you
I live by Mobil1 for my Toyota and Castrol oil for my Honda vehicle and Honda power equipments like lawn mowers, pressure washer, weedwacker, snow blower and generator.
Amsoil. The lab tests are the only tests that matter.
But is the cost worth it? I can get a 6 pack of Mobil 1 Synthetic at Costco (when on promo) for a little more than a single quart of Amsoil. And drive hundreds of thousands of miles. The Amsoil would have to double the mileage of Mobil 1 Synthetic (or Advanced Synthetic) before engine breaks down to be worth it's high cost. Lab tests doesn't consider this factor.
@@charlestilley2576 then send it to the lab and check your results. You will see the difference.
@@stephenhusak6098 You mean to say that instead of getting 300,000-500,000, I'd be getting a 600,000-1,000,000 lifetime instead? By then, the ride would be getting musky in smell & seats (in large part in wear to suspension) unbearable to travel in for long. I'd be happy to let go at 500,000 miles, as at the rate am driving it, won't live to see it fail (outside of an accident). At 20 years old, already considered an antique by the laws of my State.
Car was purchased brand new in 01 & now has just surpassed the 84,000 mark. Several times, had to change the oil prior to the normal 5,000, because it says in owner's manual (& guarantee on oil) either the mileage or 1 year.
Also take the pre-oil change time to run a bottle of Red Line Synthetic Fuel cleaner, mixed with a full tank of gas & consumed (plus an extra 1/2 tank afterwards) prior to changing. With it's high amount of PEA, keeps the entire fuel system clean, maintaining performance & expensive emission components lasts much longer.
Diy beign cionvetional oil I think itt did pretty good I think you should keep it in against orher conventional oils
And see what it finishes over all against the remainibg synthetics just for it's and gigeles
Great video...any thoughts on cam2 oil?
I second this
Good question lets have the NIA community help with this to be honest i don't have experience yet with this lubricant.
I used their full synthetic once. After 6k miles it still looked brand new. Hard to find but it has to be included Nate.
seria bueno ahora que lo hicieras las mismas pruebas pero ambos sinteticos!! saludos
Totalmente de acuerdo porque a pesar de ser misma viscosidad en general un aceite sintético es mucho más líquido y da mejor protección que un aceite mineral
You should test out cam2 motor oil
kendal vs liqui moly vs amsoil which one is beter
I think the best engine oil is ROYAL PURPLE HPS it cleans the engine. That is the best. and use there filter that is the best combo
Mobil one for me 👍 !
I like to see a TEST between K and N motor oil vs Mobile One.
Do Chevron Supreme 10W-30 conventional vs. Toyota Motor Oil 10W-30 Conventional , please!!!!!
Why would anyone use conventional these days unless you were leaking oil all over the place? SuperTech full synthetic is like $2 more than conventional for a 5 qt jug.
Cool
Taking too long man keep em comin.

K&n 0w20 please
I have the oil and im excited
@@77GR1982 that is correct i appreciate you helping the NIA community
If you change oil every 3000 miles like you should, any decent brand will do. Valvoline hm sb 1030 here.
It's a myth that you supposed to change your oil every 3000 miles it goes back when oil was first used in engines and it was bad quality compared to the high quality we have now.
But you are correct if changed every 3000 it should matter
@@Jacobtaylor1811 It's just common sense. But, it's your. car.
@@johnwagner4559 not arguing I promise but why do we have oil That's rated for double if not more miles than 3,000 and why do we have filters that are rated for up to 25,000 miles or more?
@@Jacobtaylor1811 Its a selling gimmick. I worked in dealerships all my adult life. Oil breaks down over time in heat, and the more it does, the less it is able to coat and protect the metal in engines. Trust me.
@@johnwagner4559 so do you think synthetic oils are worth the price increase? In my experience I would say yes unless it leaks then not so much lol
As long as you change it every 3k miles, your oil brand really don't matter all that much. Just don't use quacker.
As long as they are full synthetics I can agree.
yeah it does, some are significantly more expensive
Castrol gtx is all i use
MOBIL 1 IS THE BEST OIL ON THE SHELF. PERIOD
Unless you drive long distance, I don't think a synthetic is going to help you because the oil needs to stay hot for a long time or it will leave a residue in your engine
Who told you that? The car manufacturer dictates what type of oil to use in the engine, it's that simple
If your doing short trips, you most definitely want synthetic over conventional. Especially with alot of cold starts. In fact there are very few applications where conventional is the "better" choice. And it will never be because it protects better.
@@craigquann +1!👍
AMSOIL for me...

Why not test Mag1 full sun vs M1
Lucas oil👍👍👍
Mag1 did good for a conventional oil. The test wasn't fair due to Mag1 being a conventional oil and Mobile1 being synthetic. Mag1 is distributed by warren oil and i is a good oil.
What oil is in your vehicle?
Supertech
Mobil 1 full synthetic
NAPA high mileage conventional... which is actually made by Valvoline.. 12$ for 5 quarts. No issues other than saving money..
Pennzoil ultra platinum
Amsoil
Only use Chevron Havoline Pro DS in my Subaru Forester XT and it perfoms very well.
Check mag 5/30full vs mobil 5/30 full plz

Never heard of mag oil but I’ve been using Amazon basics full synthetic because I hear it beats mobil one. Can you test each other out to see who wins?
amazon basic oil is the same as supertech synthetic from wally world..
Mobil 1 is better actually.
All said and done. Its still a synthetic oil and for an everyday grocery getter with regular changes, you'll be fine. But get the right sale or rebates, and top shelf oils are just as cheap. But if you're usage falls under "severe duty" don't pinch pennies. It will bite you long term
@@77GR1982 Sure is!👍
@@jasonjones3 Yup. And Costcos full synthetic Kirkland.
i tray mag1 and mobail1 the mag1 too mutch petter the evrey oils car
Las pruebas de aceites se deben hacer con dos de las mismas condiciones, no con un convencional yuno sintético, es como la pelea de un tigre con un burro amarrado.

Amsoil vs cerma motor oil.
Royal Purple is the best.
What about Shell oil?
Shell Rotella Gas Truck performs well. I used it for my last change and my engine was quieter than the Mobil 1 Extended Performance im using now. Also it tests better than Mobil 1 on these tests if im not mistaken
@@tylerc7037 I use a heavy duty shell oil for diesel engines. My mechanic recommends it. I love it. Have no issues or complaints. I also use a Bosch filter. Oil and filter change is every 4th friday. The best engine oil ever is the one NOT from Dollar General!
Dollar General sells Castrol, Quaker etc.
As long as the oil has the API stamp; it’s good.
@@TurnTheStoveOnBlaze I was being sarcastic.

As long as it has the ILSAC-GF-5 (or the current 6) stamp on the back, probably won't matter much for normal driving conditions.
If I can catch the sales correctly at Napa I will buy their Synthetic Oil and Platinum Filter for $22. Otherwise, I usually buy a brand name oil such as Quaker State or Castrol Magnatec...which ever is cheaper.
Oil is not all the same, and you don't know what you are talking about.
Get some Klotz in there

Triax hummmmmm
geeze is that mag 1 recycled?
Not a real comparison. You are testing a conventional motor oil against a full synthetic.
Not a mechanical engineer, but common sense says not a fair comparison. Like comparing a calculator to a super computer.
Full synthetic will always beat conventional motor oil.
If Mag 1 makes a full synthetic then re do the test against Mobil 1.
A lot of people apparently requested this test , according to Nate at the beginning of the Video.
Exactly not fair.
For some reason he and some other testers on youtube don't like comparing apples to apples, it like a motorcycle vs tricycle we know which one is going to win.
I state in the video people had asked but i thought there was no competition. My apologies for any confusion.
In the video i explain people asked so i made a exception but i thought it wasn't good for mag1. My Apologies for any misunderstanding.
Apples vs pears. Not fair test.
Wolf head isnt here but its owned by Shell

Amsoil
True, if you're willing to pay for it.
Mobile has more oil in it in the test.
Best oil is Astroglide. Ask me how I know...
Why are you using 10W-30? That hasn't been recommended in a new engine in almost 20 years! Let's see something with 0W20, or even 5W20. Anything used in a modern engine....
Exactly.., he should be testing newer viscosities (up to date) from *0w-16* up to *5w-30.*
He's done those tournaments already. Each tournament is a specific grade, as results vary on which brand does better.
@@craigquann thanks for the understanding and kindness
@@77GR1982 i have did some others but will do them all. But many engines or different applications, climates can change viscosity. I will try to improve.
You need to visit and online viscosity chart. That 20 is only good to 68F and then you will have viscosity breakdown, granted a full synthetic will do better than conventional.
I've seen a lot of oil competition videos and not once a conventional oil has beaten a synthetic lubricant, this one is no exception. Not a fair fight but the result was expected.
mobil 1 is not a true synthetic! where is the Amsoil signature series?
Mobil 1 is 60-70% PAO according to their SDS for their EP 0W-20 synthetic oil.
Thanks for helping the NIA Community i really mean it.
U not feel shame mag1 not synthetic
Why do you title this Best oil made in USA? Then you list Liqui Moly (made in Germany) and Motul (made in France) as part of of the 16 round competition? Why did you include 2 foreign oils competing against oils made in USA? Amsoil is the only 100% Synthetic oil made in the US. Everything else says Fully Synthetic or All Synthetic because US law prohibits these companies from putting 100% on their bottles. They are allowed to write Fully Synthetic because they have mineral petroleum in the package. Amsoil is the best oil made in the US.
Haha mobil why so much thick
Amsoil is the best
AMSOIL forever for me. If worst comes to worst, I will take Mobil1 as a distant second choice. Forget Royal Purple and the others...
why not syn vs syn?? of course a conv is going to lose vs a syn and this was mobil better version syn.. silly to compare imo
why test full syn against conventional? wasting you and our time!!
Not one modern engine that takes 10w30!! Useless video
There are many and i have did other viscositys and will do them all.
Anyone want to be my Boyfriend 😍💋 💝💖♥️❤️
These demos are asinine. Put them in an engine and run them for 100k. I'll put schaeffer 9000 against any oil on the market.
Since at least 2000 (longer for certain imports), if cared for, 100,000 miles are when engines are just getting broken in. Many are posting 250,000-350,000 mileage engines (domestic & imports) & most reporting using little to no oil between changes. A lot of these were pre-2000 model year vehicles.
Many wouldn't buy a vehicle which has a reputation for lasting only 100,000 miles, given the high price of today's new cars & I thought $22,000 was high in 2001 for Toyota Solara SE. Just passed the 84,000 mile mark on Mobil 1 (now Mobil 1 Advanced). I change the oil every 5,000 miles or 1 year, whichever comes first. Hope to be yet another 350,000 mile Toyota owner, was in my mid-30's then & mid-50's now. May never need a new ride again, at least due to engine failure!👍
As a plus, also treat the fuel system Shell Top Tier gas, along with a bottle of RedLine Synthetic Fuel System cleaner before every oil change, has a high amount of PEA in each bottle to clean these components. Neglecting the fuel system will result in lowered performance & expensive, premature emission system component failures.
First off, the tests you are using are not sanctioned by the API/SAE or the (ASTM) AMERICAN STANDARDS TESTING & MEASURMENTS, and can not be replicated to have the same results!
If you want to test oils, use the proper testing methods!
Nobody cares what you have to say.
