I like pulling those skirt legs completely out, and replacing them with a senko plastic worm threaded through. Senko becomes the legs. Works very well, and adds that senko scent to the rig.
Great tips! I’d imagine the added hole is going to help with hookups as well since it will allow the hollow body to collapse more quickly under pressure. Folks talk about boiling frogs to soften them, but if the openings that allow air to escape are too small, the frog is still not going to compress as easily as one with a larger vent like your added hole.
Thanks for the tips. I have started my frog fishing chapter here in central Fl. I have landed one vs. missed hookups on too many good bass. Time to modify. What do you think about trailing hooks? I'm not there yet and perhaps with your input and won't go there. Again, thanks a bunch John for the visual teaching.
I have 2 simple tricks for H.b. frogs for you . Tested and proven . 1 - don't add BBs . Use 1 small split shot sinker . The rattle is more low tone and carries farther . 2 - boil your water first then drop your frogs in for 6 to 10 minutes . Then set flat till cooled . This makes the frog softer for better hook ups .
I don't do it with my spro frogs but I really like the booyah pad crashers I put the bbs in there I put one little led split shot and two bbs and I will say there are days where it performs better than just the spro frog but then again it's just like any bait out there there's days one works better than another
@@JohnCrews Seriously though I appreciate the tips. I don't fish the frogs much anymore. I used to fish them in the slop on lakes in Canada. But I should fish them more around wood and overhanging trees. Thanks for the video and tips.

I’ve always trimmed one side just a bit shorter to help it walk easier. Do you keep them both the same length?
I don’t think that matters but keep doing what works
You and Ike must compare thumbnail photo notes with the shush finger over the lips. Lol. Enjoys the channel.
We must have spent too much time together over the years 😂
Do you ever put a little baby powder in the box to keep the tails and frogs from sticking together?
I don’t but maybe I should
You don’t do the velcro on top?? Just curious if that really helps or just a gimmick.
I never have had to. I think it’s a gimmick
Man you have a bunch of frogs. Are they breeding in that box?😁
Possibly 😂

It s not a problem to do hole in butt of frog ? For water inside ? Sorry for my english i m french guy
See it says Faarogz!🤪
Do you ever boil your frogs to make them softer?
I do not but heard it works. I heard heating them in dash of truck does too
Been fishing frogs successfully for a long time… can’t say I’ve ever seen someone cut a butthole in their frog 😂😂 Taking notes!!
Was trimming the legs referenced as a secret tip? :)
Not really 🤪
Not so sure about the "butt hole" tip. I thought everyone knew a frogs ass is water tight! If Dean was a friend he should of told you. 😆
😂
