I have naturally curly hair. Once when I was little I got a relaxer in my hair. It damaged it really bad. I hated braids. I hated getting my hair done ( very tender headed) . People will complain when they did my hair and said I cry to much. One day I stopped caring for my hair. I had really bad knots they were basically turning into dreadlocks. I couldn’t even calm it out. I just cut the knots out. My hair was fine again. Once again I was staring to getting the knots again. I always wanted that perfect white girl long hair. One day I want to NYC I didn’t know what was going to happen all I knew was I was going to stay with my grandma for 3 days and is as going to to get my hair done and get box braids. I went to the hair place and I asked what they were doing . And they said they were going to unknot my hair and straighten it. They stared to cry because when they were calming out my hair it hurt really bad . They finally was done unknotted my hair. Then they put a. Chemical in my hair I asked what it was and they said it was something “ special” it really was burning my scalp and my hair was itchy. They finally washed it out it felt better, when they did I looked it the mirror and my hair was not curly. I asked again and they kept saying it was “special “ she straightedges my hair and we leave. The next day I get my box braids. After a few weeks I take them out , wash my hair. Then my curly hair was not there. I told my mom and she was started to get mad at my grandma besides she didn’t tell me what they did to my hair. It’s been a year. And my hair hasn’t fully grown back again to be curly. Now I have really want curly hair. I really miss having curly hair. Thanks for reading sorry for wrong spelling.

Liyah Biyah You could have mild moisture overload. I know I had it for a while,so my curls always looked better after I used heat. It got rid of the extra moisture.

My hair used to look like that when I was a kid. Like most girls who have heat damaged hair, it started with my mom. I became addicted to it. I felt I was not pretty if I did not have straight hair when I went out (ridiculous). NOW I am working on getting my hair back to looking like this. Literally half of my hair has pretty curls and the other half is a fried mess 😂 legit half and half. However, I have a question. If I get my hair back to normal, can I still straighten it every now and then as long as I condition and protect my hair?
If you use a good heat protecting spray u should be fine to straighten it every once in a while but be careful that you don't do it to much or you will damage your hair
