      The point is to save you time and money and to give transparent information. Some people think it's not transparent because I am offering discount codes, but the reality is I have discount codes for EVERY company including Selkirk etc. And these really just are the best. Pickleball apes are on my radar now though. Will be testing both of those paddles out very soon :)

      @stspickleball  7 місяців тому

      Great suggestion! I will definitely do an honorable mention list. Although it would be pretty long as there really aren't many paddles doing a bad job these days. In the old days (lol) we had a lot more variance and some actually terrible paddles, but now it's kind of hard to find a paddle that's doing something objectively bad. But! I could easily honorably mention a few other favs next time and will gladly do so! Mainly I say all of this because I don't want all of my reviews to just seem positive. I do critique the small things I dislike about paddles but just overall these days everyone is doing a pretty darn good job.

After several months of practicing and playing with it, I can honestly say it is the best paddle I have ever owned and I have owned the best paddles from almost all of the top companies. I gotta come back to this video and just say, I’ve always loved the Mach 1 forza. I recently picked up the Ruby, the C2, the proline energy s, even the Nova R1. Nothing and I mean nothing comes close to the Mach 1 forza. The pop, spin, and feel off the paddle is just like no other. The Ballr paddle was really solid and placed well when it released but now with the Neonic and the Viva pro gen 2 at around the same price but fully thermoformed it’s fairly low. Also one issue I’ve found over time with the original ballr paddle is the grip is a little clunky. I’d go with the Forza 😎. Or if you want to save some money go with the viva pro gen 2! • @wolf-xf6hf
    @wolf-xf6hf 8 місяців тому +2

    These are all great paddles but I think it missed the mark a bit. All of these paddles are thermos which isn’t bad but it’s not for everyone. I think the vatic prism line both the 16mm and 14mm are better than probably any of these for a new player trying to learn the soft game. The Luxx control air probably also deserves to make the list just for being a good option for the very control oriented players. Not saying that these were bad choices, the double black diamond and Mach forza are both especially good but thermos are just a catch all at this point.

    • @stspickleball
      @stspickleball  8 місяців тому

      I can agree with you here one some of this. It’s tough. The Prism line isn’t gen 2 and I didn’t personally care for them too much, the Neonic is gen 2 and fully thermoformed for the same price. But they are great for people who are new. The Luxx is a great paddle I’ve hit it a few times and I have one on the way (finally) for a dedicated review. For me these were the standouts of the entire year as a whole and paddles that also are not only gen 2 but paddles who have seemingly solved the core crushing / delaminating issue that companies like Legacy are still seeing as a rampant issue. Love the way you shared your information. This is a great way to express an opinion without being confrontational and for that I applaud you! And I hope I have done the same. I switched to the Ruby from the DBD 14mm. I loved the power and my ability to flick/roll of the DBD 14, but it was too poppy on dinks. Love the Ruby, however I can't swing through it fast enough to get the same roll/flick I did with the 14 mm DBD. Due to your review of the Volair Mach 2 I'm thinking it might be a good solution? I don't see the Ruby on your spreadsheet so can't really judge myself. Thank you!

    • @stspickleball
      @stspickleball  23 дні тому +1

      Yeah I took the ruby off the spreadsheet because I played with a friends Ruby and it wasn't nearly as powerful as the original one I had received so I need to update that. 14mm M2F is going to have relative pop if not likely more pop in comparison to the DBD 14mm so if you had a hard time controlling that I would be cautious there. I think if you are looking for more pop than the ruby and want it to be lighter in the hands (assuming the heaviness of the Ruby might be slowing that motion down for you) I would probably recommend the Spartus Apollo honestly. It's less poppy than the M2F 14mm and will be able to flick/roll well for you :)

    @STS PICKLEBALL This is probably a dumb question but I watch a lot of your videos and respect your opinion on the paddles. . . I play with a DBD and also have lead tape added on the sides. My only problem I have is when I'm at the kitchen line and a someone wants to bang it at me from the baseline (or semi-bang it), I like to try to do a softer block-volley to soft-dink it back to them (like a drop shot) back over the net since they are so far back so they won't be able to get up to it. But I consistently seem to hit it 4-6 inches short of the net. I know trolls will say "work on your game to fix it" but I have the same, consistent stroke and it's always in the same place. So I thought if I could find a paddle to try out and see if this same shot gets a little more oomph to get over for that drop, it might be what I need. Thoughts?

    • @stspickleball
      @stspickleball  7 місяців тому +2

      Yeah honestly that’s not dumb at all. That’s just where tech and paddles can kind of shine through. You might want a paddle with a bit more pop. Do you ever have any issues popping up the ball? If not a paddle with a bit more pop to it might be what you need. I will say though hitting it back towards their feet and keeping them back is generally a better play unless you’re getting it just over the net and they can’t make it to the ball in time (which is fun). Keeping them back should definitely be your priority. When you do hit it over the net on those defensive shots if they make it up to the ball you just invited them to the kitchen instead of making their life more difficult and keeping them back as long as possible and firing at their feet. But! If you do both and just want a paddle with a touch more pop to make that shot work better go to www.stspickleball.com and check out my spreadsheet. You can see what paddles I have given a higher pop rating to 😊
