Monasticism is not required to give oneself to God. Over fixation on the flesh and sins of the flesh leads to self flagellation and other forms of self punishment but Christ never compelled you to suffer for him. Also do you not usurp him in his suffering for the sins of man by opting to suffer in his place. Paul made it perfectly clear Jesus is pure Forgiveness, embracing him without another agenda is all that is required. Self mortification and all forms of aecitism over complicate the simple and basic redemption of the last supper. To which he said, to take his flesh and blood. Not abandon yours.
Montascism as the Tibetans have now painfully begun to realize always is dependent upon the Lay community. In Tibet their was a time when a Tyranical King destroyed all of the Monastic communities and temples because he hated Buddhism, the faithful had to resort to passing all of what the monasteries contained in secret between fathers and sons. The Lay community alone kept the entire tradition in full and when that dynasty came to an end they restored it.
Now the Tibetan community desperate to feed there monks there monasteries now moved from a Buddhist Culture to a Hindu or a Christian one are now desperate to the point of sending completely undeveloped monks who have not ripened into saints to give sermons and blessings and collect money, they travel around the world to rich western countries but even that is drying up because those lay practioners that where of the sixties did nothing to bolster there own families they following the monks shunned family aspiring to be monks but instead made only a half step and instead did neither. Now people like me believers of the 80s have few peers. I know of maybe ten young people who care. Going to the temple now is like visiting an old folks home. The lay community is dying because the monks had zero consideration for empowering them or emphasizing the importance of their lineage. Instead they told everyone being a monk is highest and to reject sexuality and other passions.
I still say the insane vanity and pride to think you could like Christ be crucified is so bold it makes me wince. Obviously for this monk their was a path but my suspicion is he understood his own teachings in much more nuance and was not so bold as to think he himself should accomplish Christs work.
Beyond that I would warn anyone who thinks to be a monk. That a monastery is an expensive endeavor and it is paid for by alms and it is a life own should not plunge into but to check oneself step by step. To go camp for a week or a month and resolve to do nothing but prayer and see what happens to your mind. Then arrange to stay in a monastery for sometime and uphold the vows without taking them and see what happens to your mind. I have seen far far too many people attempt it only to realize there rejection of the world was just a denial of their own passions which now with nothing left to blame inflame them completely.
Lastly I will repeat what I was getting at. The Lay community young sons and daughters introduced to the faith through parents is where monks come from. Monks do not sprout out of the ground if you wish to see more monks you must see the lay church flourish. And frankly as a Buddhist I see you are in worse shape then us. You may think I am going to hell but my temples are not flying rainbow flags and my brothers are focused on sainthood because our lay community does not believe and knows from experience that having children does not abuse you in some way where you cannot be a saint. Saints are made through, time in prayer, hardship, and the grace of God. As long as one does not sin or fails to confess it then you can do it and should do it. Rather than make the error of convincing people saints are only hermits and none exist in our world. That is not uplifting news. Weather you see it as a possibility I am positive you will find evidence of saints who had wives in your religion. If not… you still must contend that if the churches in the community are not strong and filled with the laughter of children. Then your monastic order is one generation away from death.

Based. All political rebellions and ideologies are destined to fail. Because they don't address the root cause of all earthly evil, the human ego and selfish desires. That's why Christ was NOT a communist NOR a rebel as the materialists claim. He brings a much more important rebellion, the one of the Spirit. The emptying of the ego and filling with Grace. The personal Cross embraced and made into a salvation vehicle. Everyone has a little dictator in them. If that one doesn't "die off", even if we kill all other dictators, there is still us!

I’m a Heathen who grew up evangelical Christian and have been on a Pagan path for nearly ten years. I received a spontaneous desire to attend an orthodox service a few months ago, and found it curious, but it was not until I started to have repeated experiences with Christians who were modeling and speaking about Christ in a way I’d never seen that I realized my heart was softening and healing. I still identify as Pagan, but I have found a church home and am continuing to attend, I’m reading the scriptures and praying to and worshiping Christ, and so far the personal transformation, immense sense of peace, and just the ease with which my life has begun to flow are truly amazing. In my early thirties I can say this is the first time in my life I’ve ever had an experience of peace and joy, and it is electric and alluring. I’m very curious to see how this path unfolds, and I’m grateful to Christ for pulling me out of my misery and darkness. All hail the Christ ❤

Now I am slowly for some odd reason, getting very curious about Orthodoxy as no other branch of Christianity suits me. I see a lot of things from my beliefs and Orthodoxy such as giving up everything on this Earth as it means nothing. Theosis meaning to become a god yourself (not God but a god). Stuff like that.

During the pandemic I came upon the Orthodox Church, only knowing it from Greek festivals in the Bronx, after obsessively studying Rome. I leaned in hard, started fasting and keeping a prayer rule and icons.
In truth I was an imposter and still am. I was and am still terrified to step into a church, on the surface because I dont want people to judge me for my looks which is incredibly vain and stupid, but moreso I guess because Id have to confront myself and all my sins.
I gave up fasting and controlling bodily passions but have started watching Fr. Heers and Spyridon and Trenham and tonight I found this. I could help but weep for half of it, it is beautiful and not in a hollow youtube comment sort of way but something that reached inside and reminds me more than ever we need Christ within us all. All the calamties and suffering are so pointless to endure only to die a second death.

But I honestly don't know who Jesus was, I'm still seeking for biblical Truth, of who Jesus is. Unfortunately, I find myself disappointed at my church's sermons for it often advocates prosperity preachings and living my best life etc. In all honesty, I long for the truth, I don't want a watered down Gospel, I seek the true Christ, the beauty of who God is. This video inspired me, I'm thinking of studying and seeking more unto what Orthodox is, and if it leads me to the Truth, I will go there. Please pray for me that I may be led unto the right path. I am glad you realized that those sermons are not what God wants you to settle with. Prayer for His guidance and discernment is key. I was blessed with a Christian church near where I live. Someone reached out and explained the plan of Salvation. I accepted Jesus that afternoon. It's been 2 years in the walk, I still feel lukewarm, I need to read more. I started taking a bible class where we learn the basics, parables, and prophecy along with its fulfillment. We need to keep thw new covenant and know thw open Word.
      John.1:1-17
[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
[2] The same was in the beginning with God.
[3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
[4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
[5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
[6] There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
[7] The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
[8] He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
[9] That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
[10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
[11] He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
[12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
[13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
[14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
[15] John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
[16] And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
[17] For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

'Ask and you shall receive. Knock and the door shall be opened'. This is from the Bible, as I expect you know, and represents a principle given to us by Yehovah the creator of all things. So, pray earnestly. Study Napoleon Hill and Maxwell Maltz. These focus on that principle set out in the Bible wherein that which you ask for you will receive. How do you ask for something? Focus on it. If you focus on failure, you get failure. If you focus on sadness or a bad experience, you will get that. But what happens if you learn to focus on something new?
Focus on success, all the time, with:
Desire: you must actually genuinely want the success you've chosen. It's no good becoming a scientist when you despise it.
Plan it: what is success going to look like to you? You don't need to plan the pathway to success. Only the ultimate success itself.
Faith: you must repeatedly imagine the thing you want again and again for at least 30 minutes every day. The image must be immersive as though it was actually happening to you. Remember, the brain does not know the difference between reality and imagination. So, when you repeatedly imagine the same thing, the subconscious mind, which is connected to the universe and so to Yehovah, manifests it.
Persistence: You must be prepared to live as though you would use the rest of your life in order to achieve your goal. Of course, you will not end up doing that. It's just that you must act and feel that way.
This can be all require a lot of processing for some people. But these things are the answer. They are the reason some people are billionaires and some are homeless. People are basically the same as one another. But it is their PERCEPTION and BELIEF that separate them from the world. After all, no one ever achieved anything by quitting.
The only defeat you will ever truly face is resignation.

I'm not orthodox and i don't even know why this showed up but i'm glad it did.
i've never felt more disconnected from the world. and not only that but as of late i just haven't even had the urge to indulge in such things. And make no mistake, i don't go to church, i don't even pray often, but i was raised up in church and i know what the word is. and for a long time i strayed away and went out into the world. and i don't regret it. it taught me a lot. but now about to be 31 i just don't see the use in it anymore.
it's so important to mentally fortify yourself and to reject what they're pushing on us. it really does feel like were in the season for bad things to start happening. and i'm glad to have the knowledge of discernment.

If you really wanna find out truth you need real history. Research this and save this information:
-constantin barbu , a lingivstic historian that helped many countries to complete or give answers to their puzzles regarding their old manuscripts.
-He showed the whole world that romania is the only country that has complete manuscripts older than 2500 years.
-He showed on your language ,history and lingvistic history that romania is the oldest country.
-Now ,before orthodox christianity romania was pagan. One of the apostoles of Iisus Hristos ,named Andrei ,came 2023 years ago in romania and since then ,romania became Orthodox.
-In the past there was only one Orthodox Church.
-church of west (renamed catholic after herezi) and Church of east ,Orthodoxy ,were together for 1054 years but ,the church of west went in herezi and they put head of the church as pope ;they consider popes replacers of Hristos on earth. Orthodoxy did not accept that because head of church is Iisus Hristos.
-In 2016 they made ecumenical sinod for all other denominations(sects)along with catholics to unite with Orthodoxy and have head the pope.
-Today Orthodoxy is split in two :
one is ecumenistic.( ecumenism is world religion)
One the real and only true faith ,wich is for 2023 years ,wich still has Iisus Hristos as its head.
      -all sects derived from catholics.
-kuran arrived 600 years after Orthodox Christianity. This mean kuran is fake and is a big error. The real faith( orthodox faith ) gave a written warning in the true Bible( Orthodox Bible ) wich is : even if an angel come with another gospel ,do not believe him.
      What did mohamed do?
Answer : mohamed believed the lie of the fake angel .(demon)
      - torah is a lie and biggest enemy of humanity.
      - the old testament ended when Iisus Hristos came ,thus the designation "holy land" given to israel was ended by Him.
      Tell this to others.

As Guy Debord termed it, "The Spectacle", which is all this world seems to be any more has left me wholly unfulfilled and unimpressed. They assure you that fulfillment lies in your next purchase whether that be a car, a house, fancy clothes made by slaves in foreign countries, etc. Quite frankly, these bold faced lies offend me to the no end. How dare they think me to be so stupid as to fall for their silly little advertising gimmicks.
Thank you for this piece of art. God is calling to me and I strive to be the man who can answer his call. As it was once said: "Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God."

When I no longer allowed my belief to be suspended by what my eyes saw in the Orthodox Church and began to ask questions about the things I did not understand, and when I read the history of the Christian Church and discovered at last that the oldest and truest church was in fact the Holy Orthodox Church before heresy arrested the West a thousand years after the ascension, I humbled myself and repented of my ego and pride and became a catechumen of the Orthodox Church. Four years later, I have never been more free, more humbled, and more aware of the disparity of truth in Western Christianity but also aware of the Gospel of our Lord who has conquered all disease of body and heart in this world, even falsehoods. I am blessed I was raised to follow Christ as a Protestant. It lead me back to the fullness of the faith into Orthodoxy, and for that I am so joyous! Christ has risen! Christ has conquered! ☦️❤️☦️

I came out of addiction and the occult in 2017 after a series of profound and mystical experiences that only Jesus could have provided occured in my life forever altering my perspective of this life and the sacrifice that he made on the cross... one of the experiences while i cursed christians came in the form of a vision through the eyes of Christ during the crucifixion, i felt everything and saw everything...but the most profound part of the whole vision was the love i had in my heart for all the people cursing and mocking me and the understanding of what the impact would be of my own death and resurrection, and the trust in the whole process that came with the knowing was also profound... im an old anarcho gutter punk who converted and as you touched on in the video the jump was rather easy in some ways, i already had disavowed everything tangible in this world and had been seeking that which is not tangible...that thing that can only come from a faith and a knowing, that thing that your eyes must opened in order to see...
There were many experiences that steered me back to a path with Jesus at the helm and they were so profound and so meaningful that even my rational mind could not limit them all to coincidence... it is a knowing. Thank you for your productions and thanks be to God, Lord Jesus, and all the saints and sinners i met along the way that have been part of this story God is writing with my life.
