Quick tip for the Tovolar player. Build him more as a Edric decks, and less as a mid-range. We simply don't have enough bombs yet to do well in the late game, hence why going low CMC creatures is so important. You want to agro asap. People are wrongfuly building Tovolar with this idea of casting only one spell per turn and keeping it night. Here's the thing, you're not keeping it on a Edh table, and you shouldn't care at all. Tovolar makes it so it's eternal night on your turn, which is the one that matters. Cult of the waxing moon, Moonstone shaman do nothing for the strategy of the deck, which is to swing every turn. Try using more 1/2 drops to hit eternal night by turn 4/5, and things to untap your lands, so you can go infinite combats.
You have to take into account he planned to make the deck more flavorful as a werewolf deck, and purposely avoided the "edric problem" of jamming low cost creatures in exchange for flavor and fun.
I feel like almost every UA-cam game I've watched other then the Game Knights one, Tovolar comes out ontop. Which makes me super excited for my own Tovolar deck to get finished
Great game!! Hans Eriksson is really cool and I think Wilhelt will be a very fun commander. As for deck recommendations - I recently made a more budget, fun Ramos 5 color sagas deck. It’s all about getting value from repeating saga effects and it’s a blast to play. Highly recommend it!
Ethan could not have cast the Rishkar´s Expertise at 10:56, since he should have taken the gruul signet back to his hand from the cyclonic rift. Really liked the game though!
Love tovolar just recently made a deck for him! Low cost creatures and multi combat spells and enchantments is def the way to best build his deck! Just got your content recommended by a friend and had to subscribe keep it up!
Hey, just wanted to say UA-cam recommended me your channel and you got a new sub! Great production value and interesting matches, making good use of the time. I love the pace if the videos, keep it up!
A deck idea that iv wanted to do but just havent yet: tevesh and kamahl elfball. Seems like it could make for a really solid deck having card draw and a wincon in the command zone plus elf ball making it really easy to get kamahl out to begin with. Im sure it would never be a tier 1 deck but it could pretty easily be a 7 or 8 power level i feel like. Another reason to do this pair in that build is that based on my quick look at edhrec, that pair seems to be used as a zombie tribal theme, so its always neat to be doing something totally different from everyone else
Make a kenrith and zirda activated abilities deck! It’s low power level but it’s actually fun to play with or at least funny how the deck works and how’s it’s like 67% creatures! Love the videos! And wish I could have mana bases and ramp as successful as y’all’s but I’m still working on it!
Cool game! Gotta keep an eye on Dustin tho, he missed some important interactions that could've made a difference in the end, like not controlling day/night properly or not returning mana rocks to the overloaded cyclonic rift. I'm not saying it was intentional, but if he is a newer player you guys could help him out more.
Good game, nice board. I'm a mardu player and I enjoy so much my kaalia deck, but this game just shows how hard it's to keep her on the table. So I play with kaalia zenith seeker, after two years I do think it's more effective.
Shouldn't the Mourag not of been there to take damage from the Tovolar player since it belonged to Ethan who just got knocked out? Interestingly enough Cameron likely would of won had Tovolar player didn't have his signet from Rift, aswell as Im not sure why he attacked Matt so fiercely after killing the creatures.
@@tremackin understandable, tbh when o use to play with my Scarab God we did the same thing and I remember he accidently left his gilded drake on my board. I had to hold on to it for a week until I saw him again.
I'm biased because I have the decks, but I do think Tinybones and Haldan/Pako are great commanders and decks to build. They can both be built to various levels of strength, but if they're made too strong for the table they can feel oppressive. More so Tinybones since Haldan and Pako are pretty dependent on getting attacks through and what cards they exile. Still though, Tinybones is difficult in that you have to try and not get the ire of players before you're set to finish off the game and Haldan/Pako leaves themselves open due to the naturally low creature count they usually run
I can highly recommand prosper tome bound... I built him mid power level with an exile theme... so play all the cards from exile and ramp with prosper...stuff like etali, praetors grasp, gonti and the likes... also really difficult to deal with since u get to play ur opponents cards too. should be worth looking into ;)
Prosper is extremely good right out of the box… I had a bit of an existential crisis as a long-time Rakdos, Lord of Riots pilot, the first time I saw that deck run. It’s pretty disgusting.
@@itslexactually rakdos gang is getting more support which is great. Yeah prosper can be really disgusting and is just a solid value engine. Can also fit as part of the 99 in a lot of decks… maybe even the lord of riots?🙂
@@sageco_z you would strongly hope that he has other protection spells in the deck like Sejiri Glacier, Malkir Rebirth, Blacksmiths' Skill, Karametra's Blessing or creatures like Mother of Runes or anything like that. If kaalia cant get down quickly and start cheating out big threats early she's useless
@@ecclesiaandune687 and that is why Kaalia is a bad commander. She needs too many bits to work well and draws no cards as compared to most modern commanders.
@@sageco_z This is why I run my Kaalia as Mardu combo and use Kaalia as removal bait lol. The misdirection is confusing enough for most that I'm usually able to pull off something sneaky.

Plus, since I’m lazy, it would save me the effort of building it myself lol
Loving wilhelt, I did the pre release for crimson vow and necroduality is going to be incredible in the wilhelt deck
Great vid. Need more Tovolar footage

Yay!! Good Job Tovolar!!!! 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
That double damage was clutch
How did Ethan just cast like 3 high CMC spells @11:50?
Ethan had Nix bloom Ancient out, which triples the mana you produce.

The tokens stay since they are not owned by the players, but created off the Scarab God's ability.

Why was Cameron making 2/2 decayed zombies as ethan played lands in the midgame ? I missed
Curse of the Restless Dead was cast enchanting Ethan, so whenever Ethan plays a land, Cameron makes a zombie.

My girl Kaalia in the house
Good lord this game had a lot of removal. As a creature based deck builder this hurt to watch 😬
Wilhelt for the win
Came to watch Wilhelt. Dimir for the win
Where is the Tovolar Decklist :(
My bad! It's there now!
BOG ETHAN
Well obviously never let the wolf draw into lands with free attacks /s
The night cycle should've happen at the beginning of Matt's turn not at Dustin's turn
Normally I am team Kaalia, but I am rooting for Wulfgar!
by Wulfgar, i totally meant Hans Erikkson =P
chainer, nightmare adept (casual)
Kaalia!
Wilhelm The rotcleaver
Ethan should of sacked his hand erickson at the end of his turn miss triggered haha
i'm routing for hans to win
The kalia player just dropping kaalia onto the board with no haste, no protection , nothing - TWICE seems absolutely insane to me...
Not like he had any other options. If he hard casts the threat, then removal would have killed that instead.
