Gonna jump on the support Toxrill train, the turn he came down and gave everything slime counters, then grave pact made everyone sac a bunch of stuff, Toxrill should have made a bunch of slugs, which would have saved Nezehal the turn after.

That was a interesting match and shows clearly, that sometimes a cyclonic rift overloaded can be a good thing. :o)

I can’t believe it.. I just recently built my first commander deck with Toxrill & I got a playmat the other day… the same one Kovac is using in this video with his tox… wild 😂

Why did Kovacs never use Urborg? He could have cast either mana rock turn 1 off of the Dark Ritual and didn't cast Toxrill the turn he had 7 mana.

Great game. I did notice Kovacs missed the Toxrill trigger when did the decayed zombie died. That would have given him a slug token before grave pact resolved, allowing him to SAC that instead of toxrill. That would have completely changed how this game went. Other than that fun times.

Shows again that spite attacks and feuds over many turns between 2 opponents always backfire. Kyle could build while J Man and BK were shoving each other for like 5 rounds. And we all know that you can't let a zombie deck build up his engine... Oh and Kovacs was there too 😁 gg

Interesting game. I tend to use more direct removal. I have three of the four decks built. I Run Markov, zombies and spirits. It was fun to watch. Everyone has their own style of play and the decks are very effective which is nice to see in a casual game

Damn, had no idea the card "Cover of Darkness" existed! Will definitely consider it for my GB Lathril deck to make my elves a lot more evasive. Currently I manage to do that with "Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth" and "Elvish Champion".
Yeah it’s pretty great in tribal decks that run black and want to turn creatures sideways! Have fun!
@@mostlycasualcommander Will definitely consider for my Chatterfang deck as well. Pretty much the same idea since both run Urborg.
It’s won me many games with my Edgar deck! Can definitely recommend
cool game setup. Small suggestion, play around with the lighting to reduce glare on the sleeves. Not sure what the 'better' light source is, and I understand if you are not doing this from a studio. Was just thinking they may have something inexpensive that would eliminate the glare. :)
When that first decayed zombie died, it should’ve made a slug because it had a counter on it from toxril
Good call! We missed that unfortunately.
Shame about the Toxrill deck. It usually works out for me, even with the slow start. But thats because my opponents only attack eachother when I'm off to a slow start. Which is weird because they'll withdraw after a few rounds with Toxrill out and they hardly ever use any removal spells on it
Yeah Toxrill is super threatening! Hopefully Kovacs can stick Toxrill and do work with it one day soon. Have a good day!
Pretty good game. Good awareness that you should have let the Rift resolve that's what makes a great magic player. The Captivating Vampire came down too early lol but you're aware of this now. The best thing I've ever done with Captivating Vampire was steal someone's Seedborn Muse and then was able to start taking every creature lol it was a lot of fun but it's never happened again haha.

Kovacs can tap his urborg for a black mana bc it's ability also includes itself as a swamp

Really wouldn't wanna play the spirit deck in this game. Not only is that corrosive guy the perfect counter, but for some reason you decided to go hard on him every single round as well. Doesn't seem fun for him

and yeah the Cyclonic Rift would have certainly changed that game completely

@@mostlycasualcommander couldnt he have cast toxrill at some point? that cyc rift would have actually been helpful. But when u get he chance of stoping a cyc rift its hard not to :) gg and nice power level on the decks
@@ludwigfleischhacker3673 didn’t bother playing toxrill again bc on Kyle’s turn I’d have to sac him and increase his already stupid high commander tax and cmc. I had answers and the cyc rift would have helped me tons
@@ryanalexanderkovacs I’m thinking of building him and would try to reanimate him from the gy at 7 mana without tax he gets too expensive quickly. So a bunch of Reanimation spells could help with that. Try running tortured existence and you are likely tp evade the commander tax

@@joyboy1734 not really, I would consider Toxrill to be far more of a control deck overall. The entire point of the deck is to control creatures on board by its very nature
