That earth Machine deck and player were fucking fire. The patience and plan I saw Unfold that first game was wonderful

What a run by The Dragon Saint. That deck was a thing of beauty and took what Tear does best, mill a shit ton of cards for insane effects and combos, and turned it against them.

As we all know, challislime is basically a 1-1 copy of Konami YCS's and I think top cut only cements this fact.
Its better - no time rules. Thats why Tear gameplay is so much more fun when you can resolve effects after thinking about it.
if it was like YCS, the Tear player would've lost to the Gustav -2k

Crazy. Who could have foreseen an Ishizu-Tear mirror match in the finals? Completely out of left field. Gripes about the state of the metagame aside, props to the pilots this tourney. Special shoutouts to LeKastrish and The Dragon Saint for putting great showings against Ishizu Tear.
I love that MBT is still using the Chalislime drawn by my friend.
When I saw the Trishula in the decklist I HAD to watch that deck playing out. I always theorized of exactly this interaction with dragons and thunder dragons
I have to say, the sheer back and forth of these players was incredible, and it seems obvious to me that while piloting Ishizu Tear, mt fuji is completely in the zone.
I learned so much of Earth Machine by watching those duels, congrats for being in top cut! Hot take: in the future, much later after ichizu tearlaments gets nerfed in the banlist, people will still play those mirrors to show off their skill.
A bit of a silly include, but is chain strike pretty reasonable at this point as a fun of, with regular tear mirrors reaching chain 6-8

PSA IF TEAR/SHIZU doesn't finally put the nail in the coffin for getting Instant Fusion banned, it'll be around forever, if this next list or two doesn't kill it and set it to forbidden, we'll see it at 3 before it ever goes away unfortunately.
Honestly, idk if it is better to be at 1 then be at 3. I already lose to Tear unless I floodgate them out of the game, so seeing Instant fusion when it's at 1 annoys me so much. Like, I am already gettin râiled my dude, stop drawing busted 1 offs xd.
@@arobnugzo6818 at least at 3 feels less like bullshit, you just reminded me of when desires was at one. My buddy at locals used to consistently open it, as a one of, against me. It made prank kids even harder to play against lol and tear is so much worse to play against than PK ever was nowadays.

Instant Fusion got a reprint in Magnificent Mavens, so it's probably not gonna get hit. Terraforming on the other hand hasn't been reprinted since 2020, and at a time when Field Spells just seem to get more and more powerful, a card that allows you to add ANY field spell from Deck to hand, and which still sees heavy play despite being limited to one is probably a prime candidate for a ban.
The Dragon Saint should have paid Joseph a little bit more to make him call the deck "CBT" the way he says his name
This tournament has absolute affirmed for me that the most frustrating parts of Ishizu Tear are the shufflers and the Bystials. They let the player who's already ahead stay ahead, and milling from both decks would be a lot scarier if you didnt get to shuffle or banish everything from your opponent.
I liked the part that featured MBT nearly mispronouncing Citadel as Shit-adel lol
Konami has to be aware that instant fusion exists, they could have and PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE, made kitkalos level 6 just to make the bullshit opening of IF less of a problem. Unless of course, they wanted tear to be so damn broken because if that's the case they made it 5 intentionally, it could be more busted as a 4 though for dweller/other rank 4 plays lol
level 6 allows beatrice access, so that won't work either.
They should errata it so it is also counted as a non-effect monster, you know, for ready fusion

while he personally might like them, it filters out the viewers and both CSM tops and the videos stretch incredibly long compared to previous formats, which turns it into kind of a spotty thing for content creation
