My issue with DuelingBook is that people tend not to understand how to behave in a duel I've had several instances where I had Ash in hand, but my opponent wasn't declaring card effects or waiting for a response, so I literally couldn't respond It's the closest thing to being able to play in person, but I feel like playing in person, I'm actually able to respond because I trust my opponent to say what they're activating rather than just staying silent the whole time. Even if they don't wait for a response, I can at least ask them to hold on while I read their cards It's not that they didn't know how to play YGO, the cards I saw being played seemed fairly relevant (it was shortly after Mekk-Knights were revealed, so I don't really remember what my opponent was using. I wasn't really into competitive YGO at the time, apart from running Ash Blossom obviously, so I had no clue what any of their cards did or what I could actually activate Ash Blossom on because I didn't know what was being activated) This happened at least 5 times in the same day. I played on Dueling Network a lot back in the day (obviously I was terrible, I think I ran triple copies of the Egyptian Gods and no tribute fodder so my deck literally couldn't play), but that was the first and last time I ever logged onto DuelingBook
I've been playing Yugioh for 3 years now, but a couple months ago I decided to give Dueling Book a try for the first time, before that I only played online on EDOPro or Omega and my experience was... weird I guess. At first I was asking if it was ok for me to proceed after every action but my opponents, for the most part, either stopped responding at some point, so I didn't know if I could go on or not, or just told me to keep playing without asking for responses, that they would say if they had anything at some point. It's annoying of me to ask every second if I can proceed, but at the same time, if I don't, I might not give my opponent a chance to respond at a proper time. In the end that's probably what bothered me the most about Dueling Book, I wanted to do things right but it's really inconvenient. I don't know what a solution to that would be, maybe having a manual simulator with automated priority and you can just toggle it on or off like in the automated ones.
Playing in person has its advantages. You can measure the character of a person from how the sit, how the wait or ask for responses, how they fidget with their cards, how fast they play... The best is that most of them don't have the balls to pull something scummy like in this video because they know they don't have a screen protecting their greasy faces from getting decked in the face
When I play on dueling book I tend not to give my opponent enough time to respond, but if they want to I just reverse what I did. Too bad for me that they could see my next play, but that's the risk of playing fast right? Also expecting the same from my opponent at such times (give time to respond or be willing to reverse what you did when someone does want to respond)
Yep. That was the reason I quit too in 2012. I'm back playing YGO, but since the game is SO DIFFERENT from what it was I'm stuck playing Duel Links. But yes, those Dueling Networks days, when you logged on hearing the last DM opening? Yep, not missing those interactions...

An "emote chat bar" where the only thing you can send are pre-approved emotes (but you can at least search for them by typing) would be a simple thing to add that wouldn't get too toxic.
Ironically, this vid actually makes me wanna go back on Duelingbook again as I haven't been on it in yrs. Not necessarily for the official game so much, but because I love making custom cards. (Ones that actually have intelligent effort put into them, of course)
Farfa you don't upload nearly enough for a guy who streams for 6 hours everyday on twitch, like i think there's so much lost potential for content here.

1:00 that question is not a legal question you can ask in YGO rules. The rules that states you cannot lie is also the same rule that says you cannot confirm hidden information. 1:23 glad you realized!
I remember using Dueling Book back in middle school when I didn't understand how to properly play the game and got called out by my first opponent lol. Thankfully now with master duel I understand the game a bit better
This is just six sam players. Had a game on master duel where a guy played for an entire 6-7 minutes on turn one, only to surrender after destroying gossip shadow with F.A test run. He surrendered after two cards
I never want to see or hear the random person I play against. Especially when they start a big summon flurry that puts 7 negates and 4 3000 beaters on the board.
I miss the Dueling Network days. It was exactly the same thing, without all the fancy stuff they added. I still remember "Eff" everyone declared their effects back then. Nowadays it's just declared effect, declared effect effect, declared effect... like what is happening. It was so much easier back then. Blah blah CL1, Blah blah CL2, we actually explained our plays, because we have the ability to communicate and duels didn't take 2 hours. We didn't even really use Judges back then either. The only time Judges were called was because we both did not understand how something worked, or because the other guy was trolling and wouldn't admit defeat, or they were AFK. But nowadays, there's judge calls for, hey he set his monster in the S/T zone, then moved it to the main Zone, he's cheating".
im an xbox player on master duel, and i came across another xbox player. I otk'd him using infinitrains while he was using blue eyes. he then proceeded to message me and call me a "fat pathetic loser"
That is why i never play dueling , when i want to test new deck or check fact i use edo and now i play master duel when i want a normal duel with other people
Things like this is why i dont play DB. Between 600 judgecalls on "just read the card" situations and generally not knowing how to play, i decided to stick to automated.
i'm gonna be real i didn't realize until this video that link monsters are either their link rating OR 1, i thought it was any number up to their link rating
tbh, it wasn't till i started playing link evolution on switch that i learned your monsters had to = the link rating. before, i thought it was like rituals where it could be greater than or equal too, the requirement.
Alternative title: Why Master Duel should NOT get a duel chat feature
Duel Links has a extremely limited text box with character exclusive dialogues, but that's all
😅
i would love a chat box :( I just wanna write nice things to the opponent opening ash nib maxx c and callby in 1 hand ;D

An "emote chat bar" where the only thing you can send are pre-approved emotes (but you can at least search for them by typing) would be a simple thing to add that wouldn't get too toxic.
ah yes my favourite card game, duel links
I had this happen in a duelingbook tournament once and the dude got so pissed that he just dropped out of the tourney
Damn, what a loser
that dude clearly needed to become a mod
I’ve only ever played dueling book with personal friends while in voice chat together. I’ve never regretted not playing with strangers on there.
Ironically, this vid actually makes me wanna go back on Duelingbook again as I haven't been on it in yrs. Not necessarily for the official game so much, but because I love making custom cards. (Ones that actually have intelligent effort put into them, of course)
Farfa you don't upload nearly enough for a guy who streams for 6 hours everyday on twitch, like i think there's so much lost potential for content here.
removing chat in md was a smart decision in retropect
I wouldn't be opposed to like, quick emotes or quick remarks that are prescreened but nothing more than that. A full chat in MD would just be toxic city
Nonono
I still rewatch low rated duelists on dueling network.. These moments are gems
Your regional is in Paisley, this was perfect testing for every match except the final round against Jordan.
Had someone rage because we were both running exodia.
But i was running control and he was running nitro draw.
Pissed him off so bad with a morphing jar and penguin soldier. He couldn't get his draws going lol
still wouldn't mind the mates coming with pre-determined quotes like the characters in Duel Links but the absolute maximum it should be,that being said i'm perfectly fine with how Master Duel is rn in regards to this also.
I'm so glad Konami didn't add a chat feature to multiduel. Good ole DB
Ironically enough I was playing on Duelingbook before watching this
This is why the best think to add to master duel is voice lines, not full on chat box
This gave me insight on why I can't link summon on some circumstances thank you for showing me through the clown's action
THIS is why Master Duel NEEDS a duel chat feature.
I don't think You just look at every type of competitive Game has a chat opción ex. lol , overwatch, dota is just cancerous and people just trash talk for every autistic reason
@@Pancake699 ... That is exactly why I want a chat feature... I want to share some trash talk with people lmao.
This is like goated 2018 Farfa content. This video was too good :)
I only really play dueling book with friends cuz goat format, other than that I mostly play either ygopro or play the real life tcg. Idk just dueling book feels way too clunky for me tbh
1:00 that question is not a legal question you can ask in YGO rules. The rules that states you cannot lie is also the same rule that says you cannot confirm hidden information. 1:23 glad you realized!
I don’t understand why no one can just have fun for a change instead of causing trouble for no apparent reason whatsoever 🤷♂️
That's the mindset internet anonymity gives some people.
Causing trouble is the only fun that their sad little existences can manage
Link summoning was confusing maybe for the first week when it was new and we had a small card pool but come on, guy.
Yup the reason I don't play dueling book only master duel and EDOpro, I only play the dueling book with friends
1:57 Not only this is authentic yugioh, this is also content
Ever since the youtubers are making these duelingbook highlight videos, it seems that more people are trolling on the side.
Thank you for the authentic dueling experience! I feel alive again after watching your vidoe
Ah, good old DuelingBook. I remember one match my opponent told me to hang myself in my room because I defeated him with a DM deck.
I know how bad a chat would be on MD
But I LOVE when people shit talk me in games dude lmao
i NEVER UNDERSTood how people can play yugioh without automated effects activations. Damn.
I remember using Dueling Book back in middle school when I didn't understand how to properly play the game and got called out by my first opponent lol. Thankfully now with master duel I understand the game a bit better
Duelingbook is kinda funny for stuff like this. Peak content :D
i remeber when this was DULING NETWORK im old man
This is just six sam players. Had a game on master duel where a guy played for an entire 6-7 minutes on turn one, only to surrender after destroying gossip shadow with F.A test run.
He surrendered after two cards
older formats on DB Unlimited unranked are usually nice and respectful :)
What skin for Master Duel is this?
Man and I thought I was bad for playing YGORPO and tabbing out during my opponents turn and not coming back in time
every time i see people asking for chat or taunts in MD i think of this video
I never want to see or hear the random person I play against. Especially when they start a big summon flurry that puts 7 negates and 4 3000 beaters on the board.
People forget YGOpro has always been a thing z_z
Tbf there is always people to play with
I miss the Dueling Network days.
I mean TBF, it preps you for real life because ppl do try pulling shit.
Maybe not as blatantly, but they do
Sending someone a tutorial mid duel because they don't know what they are doing is the kind of trash talking I live for
im an xbox player on master duel, and i came across another xbox player. I otk'd him using infinitrains while he was using blue eyes. he then proceeded to message me and call me a "fat pathetic loser"
I always hated dueling book
Farfa. Don't throw peanuts in the exhibit
That is why i never play dueling , when i want to test new deck or check fact i use edo and now i play master duel when i want a normal duel with other people
The fact that Master Duel means I don't have to talk to people is so nice
Master duel needs voice chat, I want to hear they cursing me
Things like this is why i dont play DB. Between 600 judgecalls on "just read the card" situations and generally not knowing how to play, i decided to stick to automated.
Masterduel does need a mic feature tho I wanna scream nooooooooo when my opponent ashes or nibs
i'm gonna be real i didn't realize until this video that link monsters are either their link rating OR 1, i thought it was any number up to their link rating
Me too
Love this kind of vids, keep up the goodwork man
tbh, it wasn't till i started playing link evolution on switch that i learned your monsters had to = the link rating. before, i thought it was like rituals where it could be greater than or equal too, the requirement.
Alternative title: Why Master Duel should DEFINITELY get a duel chat feature.
Nah yall are snowflakes
I have wished to be able to speak to my opponents in Master Duel before, but I know this is the reason we cant.
Alternative Platform: Ygo Omega. You can MUTE the chat and they have a competitive ladder
Are you telling me that in this game you can play with your own rules, unless your opponent notices it?
I wish master duel had a duel chat feature would be pog
Im waiting for the youtube video of vlad backseating ursarctic
This is proof that we need chat in master duel. Thats great.
Nesh saving the day
just cant wait for master duel to add emotes so people can liberate all of their toxicity
New master duel patch looks amazing
