- Hey guys! Surprise! Here's a life update of the past year in my life! I chat about moving to Nashville, going to college at 26, what I'm majoring in, and how I've been feeling during it all. I am 31 and in my third year of college ☺️ I was unable to go after high school because I had to work full-time to support myself. I am excited to graduate next year!

You were the very first “influencer” (we didn’t call it that back in 2010 lol) that I ever watched and I feel like I’ve grown up on your channel and UA-cam as a whole. It’s been such a big part of my life and is part of the reason I’ve been inspired to start my own blog/online presence just in this past month. I am graduating college in two weeks, and I know how you feel about loving school so much. Definitely savor the moment because it flies by!

I actually think going to college after 25 is better. Most people doesn't want to keep studying just after high school, but they do it because of what is socially acceptable. They spent their parents money or get loans that have to pay until they are 30, that's crazy! So why doesn't people go to find what they like, get some experience and money and then get to college? That's what I'm doing. I'm also 27 and am sooo excited to go back to school ✨
i wish I waited. I wasted a lot of time and money because I was not mentally ready after highschool and I didnt know what I wanted to do. But I felt like I "had" to go. I think I would have gotten more out of college if I waited.
This is so true. The worst thing to do is take a drained high school student and throw them in 4 more years of education. I had to take a year gap and that year gap really energized me. I got 4.0s for a good few semesters before I felt drained again. The only issue with taking only one year off is that doesn't guarantee that you know what to do. I'm almost done with my bachelors degree in psychology, and while psychology is great I don't see myself holding a career related to psychology. I'm thinking of getting a masters degree, but I want a way where I can take some time off before making a choice of what I want.... I'm also feeling conflicted, I'm 24 I just want to have a stable career and I want to experience some form of stability in my life as a whole. Overall, I'm sick and tired of the schooling system. I feel like I've been in school all my life. LOL, sorry for the rant, but I 100% agree.
you are SO right. I just graduated from a major im not passionate about with loans and i wish i wouldve waited and took it more seriously... oh well i guess its spilt milk now hahah

That makes SO much sense! I did a dual graduate degree and I regret choosing that field just because my parents thought it suited me best. If I’d waited until my mid twenties I would’ve made a much better decision. I think this should become a norm now!

I am so happy for you!! When I was younger, I had people your age bully me because I was working hard while they in their mid thirties just expected everything to fall in their laps. I didn't even have half the opportunities they had while growing up. I'm saying this because so many people let themselves go and become entitled, because putting yourself out there is so hard and putting in the work, especially next to a job is even harder. Well done! You will be proud of yourself for the rest of your life!

There’s nothing ever wrong going back to school as an adult. I went to normal college, got a retrial job, changed to a 9-5 job, and now I’m going back to school at 28 towards a dental hygiene program. It’s your life. You move at your own pace.

I once heard an excellent quote from Dr. Phil- "It is absolutely none of your business what others think of you." You do what feels right, as long as it's legal, safe and ethical. What people think of your major doesn't matter - they won't pay your bills for you. Pursue your passion and do not quit. You got this girl!

I went back to college at the age of 27 after dropping out. I majored in elementary education. I was really nervous too and I also took accelerated courses. I loved school so much and thrived in academia. I graduated with honors. I got a teaching position before I even graduated. I was the oldest new teacher out of the nine new teachers at my school. I felt a little out of place but I gave it my all and was selected as the new teacher of the year. I am so happy that you are blooming into the woman you wanted to be and you are enjoying your academic journey. Happy learning!

dude this is crazy but blair, you honestly feel like an old friend/sister that I grew up with and went through life with. im graduating from medical school this week and I believe we're basically the same age. but yeah blair i only know how to do my make-up because of you!! You are the first beauty guru I watched EVER & the reason makeup is so special to me. I’m 22 & just finished college. It really is a special experience to go through-the good, the bad, everything about it helps you grow in some way, shape or form. But sometimes college isn’t for everyone and there’s also no specific timeline anyone has to follow! It warms my heart to see you go through the college experience and I love seeing how genuinely happy you are. It’s really cool to hear you talking about going to school as an older student. I did go to college out of high school but it wasn’t the best experience. 2 years ago at 27 I decided to go back. I am going to a school that’s designed for working adults so I don’t do school full time. But I agree with all your thoughts on it being great. I have a 4.0 and I’ve never in my life had that. I feel like I’m finding my path and it’s been thrilling. Stressful at times but still awesome.

I went to college strait out of high school and I ended up dropping out after a year and a half. Then I went back when I was either 25 or 26 (I'm 39 now so I can't remember lol!) and it was absolutely wonderful. You are obviously way more driven than I was, but when I went back to school in my mid 20's I was more focused and motivated. I had great grades and I did not the first time around because I was obviously not focused on school at all. I think it's wonderful that you have found something that you love and you are enjoying college.
You know why you'll be the best interior designer Blair? Because all of your house tours that you've shown us looked completely different. You don't have one style/one trick that you do over and over again (like most designers)... you will do AMAZING

I use to watch you and Elle a lot back in high school, so this feels nostalgic. I went back to college at 24 after taking a three year hiatus from college. I felt stuck when I went to college right out of high school for three years, and I decided to take a break and explore other options. While I was working as a receptionist, I went through a quarter-life crisis and decided to go back to school. I have moments where I feel insecure that I didn’t have the typical college experience in my early 20’s, but I know going back to school in my mid 20’s was the best decision because I needed to learn how to grow up and realize what I wanted for myself out of life education and career wise. My grades are better and I love majoring in marketing. I wish you the best of luck in interior design ❤️❤️

Hey Blair, I'm going to turn 27 this month and I am just about to finish my 4th semester of college ever. I have to say going to school as an adult feels SO good. Maybe its because it's our soul trying to search for answers and its us paying for it on our own and we appreciate it more. I love school, and before thinking about going to college gave me anxiety. Its so crazy to think that I crave learning and being challenged in a whole new way. So here's to us girl, and all other adult college students. To life changes and self motivation. Funny story, I'm an OG viewer, I am 24 and have watched your videos since I was in middle school! Yesterday my friend texted me that she wanted to name her new kitten "Sawyer"(I nixed that idea), which automatically made me think of you. So I went on your channel to see what you had been up to, and I watched "The REAL Tea" video. Just hearing you talk about depression, relationships, college and your life, I felt a visceral connection. I felt like we were the same, in a way I never had before. I was NOT a good student in high school and my first go at college. Going back as an adult is the best thing I've ever done. Now that I'm 29, I enjoy school way more than when I was younger and can really be successful in a way that I never could have been before. Proud of you!

It's so funny when you talk about the past and certain rooms, I can think back and remember some of those rooms! I feel like we've grown up together (iI'm a year older) and I remember being so proud of your accomplishments because they were so incredible and I feel the same way now, but with your major and everything. It's so amazing seeing you so happy about your major and I can tell it's exactly what you are meant to do! I can't wait to see what you end up doing with your degree and can't wait for future videos! I love higher education to the point that I graduated college with a business degree and decided to do high school college advising for a few years lol the one thing I’ve learned is that education is for everyone, but not everyone’s school path is going to look the same! Whether you go to a four year university, trade school, etc. It’s all education! You are on your own timeline, and it makes my heart so happy that you found your path with higher education

I went to college the fall immediately after high school and did well my first year but not so hot the second or third. I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life, had no motivation to continue on in my major, and eventually decided to drop out during my junior year and work full-time when my mom needed some financial help. Fast forward 8 years of promising I would go back and finish and I just started mortuary school last month. College is so much different when you have your priorities in order, have a genuine interest in the course material, and are using your own resources (either partially or in full) to fund your education. I wouldn't go back and change a thing or choose to do this any other way.

So nice to see you, Blair! I know what you're feeling, I started my second degree at 28 years old and I feel like it's way better than my first one at 18 years old! Being more mature makes you see thinks more clearly. It's never too late once you know who you are and what you want
I've been watching for 10 years! You have certainly been missed this past year. I thought of you often and was hoping you were having such a great time at school! It's so wonderful to see you so happy......your eyes are sparkling! Blair, I will watch anything you upload-you could make a video about paper clips and I'd love it! There are things that still pop into mind that came from you. Hair bumps being tacos, how to make peppermint coffee.....things like that.
New with me? Got my masters of fine arts in film just last week! :D I graduated on Zoom...but that's okay! I still can't believe it. I'm 44....it's never too late to do what you dream of doing! Its been amazing and I've had so many wonderful opportunities meeting so many people in "the industry." I've found out things I never knew about myself. I think it's great going back and being older. You care more about what you are doing and learning. I feel like I got so much more out of it getting 2 bachelors degrees and now a masters. I can see how my attitude towards school changed over time as I plugged my way along. I think everyone should take time before they jump in.
I know I'm pretty much an old lady-but you have inspired me so much over the last 10 years and I am so thankful for you. You are amazing, sweet.....add all the synonyms here. lol
