Your core audience grew up with you. It’s nice to see an OG UA-camr grow up and be a functioning member of society. You don’t need to do short form content to appeal to a younger audience. There are few creators that make content for a more grown up/adult audience. I’m sure all the original fans that are so excited to see you upload want to see the updated makeup tutorial and the home decor videos. Be your authentic self, make the content that makes you happy, and the audience will follow.

I started watching you as a kid here and there and remember how you wanted to seize every opportunity that came your way (for your sister and you). It’s always been something that has stuck with me and now I’m 22 (almost 23) and I’m a manager at a company after graduating college late last year with my bachelors in psychology. Although I wanted to go into clinical, somehow I needed up in Compensation and Acquisition (aka payroll & recruiting). You really inspired me and it’s so amazing to see you seize every moment and opportunity that has come your way. WOW. Blair, it is so good to see you after all these years! I seriously was smiling the whole video and actually teared up at the end when you were talking about how much it took for you to get where you are and that you feel like you are "here." Watching this video seriously did feel like reuniting with an old friend! I started watching you back in 2010 when I had just moved to a new school and I had no friends. It was the loneliest period of my life at that point and I would come home from a hard day at school and watch your videos. You seriously felt like a friend to me! That feeling of connection I was able to feel with you was one of the main reasons I started my own UA-cam channel. I wanted to be that for others. So thank you. I decided to step away from UA-cam in 2020 to explore my other passions (specifically music) and now I'm at a point where I'm just allowing myself to stay open to all the possibilities in terms of where my life could go and what I could create! I feel so inspired hearing you talk about the work you've put in at the architecture firm and you lit up when you were talking about teaching. For so long I've felt like I need to pursue a career in the spotlight, but I'm starting to explore the possibility that a softer, quieter life might be what's healthier for my nervous system and what nourishes my soul more deeply. I know all too well the pressures of living in LA, being on camera all the time, and always being focused on the next "big thing." I feel like I have you to thank for my entire career. It was because of you and sister, I saw the power of “influencers” and the influence you had over all of us to sell us the beauty products you use and love. You introduced me to the concept of PR as a marketing medium and in my early days of beauty PR I would often talk about you and Elle in my first internship interviews back in 2011 before the word influencer was even existed. I am now a Senior Account Director over seeing a multitude of global beauty brands at a dedicated beauty PR agency. I think about you two often when I am interviewing juniors and I ask what influencers or talent today inspire them! ❤ So happy to see you happy! X

I absolutely love this update! I remember watching your Christmas vlogs when I was 15 in my bed at home. I'm 29 now, and I still feel like I can relate to you so well. I also uprooted my life a bit, deciding what to major in and eventually finding a job I love (I'm an accountant at a veterinary office now) and buying my first home. I also TAed for a bit! Hearing you talk about motherhood and a partner really resonated with me. I remember when I was younger feeling like I was missing out because I didn't have those things. I still don't but like you, I feel totally content with my life and am just floating by, seeing what comes. It's liberating. This update was so sweet and I love how far you (well, us both!) have come. It isn't just crazy how life flies by so fast?
I feel like many were like me and just watching and admiring and feeling like you were a best friend. We didn't comment enough and let your feed fill up with naysayers so reaching out to let you know that we love you and typing so you know you are cared about! I was watching in 2009 and at the time I was an at home wife since then I have gone back to college and I am currently a pediatric dental assistant and love life so much. It is such a refreshing thing to see an “og” UA-camr like you come back on after becoming one of the first influencers. You took time to get in touch with your other interests and set out on a different life path. You never changed. To me you are still that bubbly teen talking about shopping hauls, room tours etc. except you’ve grown into what I believe to be a well-rounded adult. Honestly, your's and Elle's channels were the best days of the beauty community. I loved when you got to see a real person vlogging their life, along with the beauty. I also loved seeing more accessible fashion, room decor, hair styling, morning routines/evening routines, etc alongside the beauty content, and followable tutorials. I'd honestly love to see that type of content make a comeback. You and Elle are actually the ones who inspired me to become a lifestyle blogger (I need to get back to that, I've been on a hiatus for quite some time). ALSO, I still have Beneath The Glitter! I am 27 now and went back to University last fall when I was 26. It was your video that inspired me, because I felt the same way you did. I am so happy to see you are content now and I hope I will get to that point in 2 years as well! I would LOVE to hear about your college experience as an adult! In my case it's been a little hard to make real friends, because I already have a social life and balancing that but also finding new friends and maintaining those friendships is really hard.

Back then I too was beauty-obsessed, and for the longest time I thought I wanted to work in the beauty industry (as a product designer, or something in marketing). Halfway though college, though, I realized I really loved experimental psychology and research and completely changed my career aspirations-now I'm about to start my PhD! Seeing this video brought back so many memories and it's great to see that you're also really happy on a very different path :)
I was 17 when you started uploading videos and I can’t believe it’s been 15 years! I uprooted myself and left my corporate job of 8 years and enrolled in college 3 years ago to peruse nursing! I too felt like I was waiting for my life to start by being married but I’m living my best life now perusing a different career and alone! I love it!

When I was 26 I went back to school. I applied and was accepted before all the craziness of COVID happened but I am so thankful for it. 2019 was one of the darkest years of my life and with COVID it could have been worst, but school was such a good distraction from everything that I actually got better during the pandemic. I currently work in non-profit and with a school board working with youth mental health. It really is true when people say there is a light at the end of the dark tunnel. I’m in such a good place and have grown so much as a person. I’m glad to see other people who are considered to be “older” students going back to school on a platform such as yours. There is no age limit to learning 💕

I started watching you as a kid here and there and remember how you wanted to seize every opportunity that came your way (for your sister and you). It’s always been something that has stuck with me and now I’m 22 (almost 23) and I’m a manager at a company after graduating college late last year with my bachelors in psychology. Although I wanted to go into clinical, somehow I needed up in Compensation and Acquisition (aka payroll & recruiting). You really inspired me and it’s so amazing to see you seize every moment and opportunity that has come your way. You are the definition of practicing what you preach but also realizing that it’s okay to change your journey. So great to see you. :)

WOW. Blair, it is so good to see you after all these years! I seriously was smiling the whole video and actually teared up at the end when you were talking about how much it took for you to get where you are and that you feel like you are "here." Watching this video seriously did feel like reuniting with an old friend! I started watching you back in 2010 when I had just moved to a new school and I had no friends. It was the loneliest period of my life at that point and I would come home from a hard day at school and watch your videos. You seriously felt like a friend to me! That feeling of connection I was able to feel with you was one of the main reasons I started my own UA-cam channel. I wanted to be that for others. So thank you.
I decided to step away from UA-cam in 2020 to explore my other passions (specifically music) and now I'm at a point where I'm just allowing myself to stay open to all the possibilities in terms of where my life could go and what I could create! I feel so inspired hearing you talk about the work you've put in at the architecture firm and you lit up when you were talking about teaching. For so long I've felt like I need to pursue a career in the spotlight, but I'm starting to explore the possibility that a softer, quieter life might be what's healthier for my nervous system and what nourishes my soul more deeply. I know all too well the pressures of living in LA, being on camera all the time, and always being focused on the next "big thing." I feel like I have you to thank for my entire career. It was because of you and sister, I saw the power of “influencers” and the influence you had over all of us to sell us the beauty products you use and love. You introduced me to the concept of PR as a marketing medium and in my early days of beauty PR I would often talk about you and Elle in my first internship interviews back in 2011 before the word influencer was even existed. I am now a Senior Account Director over seeing a multitude of global beauty brands at a dedicated beauty PR agency. I think about you two often when I am interviewing juniors and I ask what influencers or talent today inspire them! ❤ So happy to see you happy! X

I absolutely love this update! I remember watching your Christmas vlogs when I was 15 in my bed at home. I'm 29 now, and I still feel like I can relate to you so well. I also uprooted my life a bit, deciding what to major in and eventually finding a job I love (I'm an accountant at a veterinary office now) and buying my first home. I also TAed for a bit! Hearing you talk about motherhood and a partner really resonated with me. I remember when I was younger feeling like I was missing out because I didn't have those things. I still don't but like you, I feel totally content with my life and am just floating by, seeing what comes. It's liberating. This update was so sweet and I love how far you (well, us both!) have come. It isn't just crazy how life flies by so fast?
I feel like many were like me and just watching and admiring and feeling like you were a best friend. We didn't comment enough and let your feed fill up with naysayers so reaching out to let you know that we love you and typing so you know you are cared about! I was watching in 2009 and at the time I was an at home wife since then I have gone back to college and I am currently a pediatric dental assistant and love life so much. Fast forward, I'm 26, graduated from college, working as an analyst, married, and saving up for a house. Like you, I went through phases of longer, more involved routines for beauty - and while I can't spend that kind of time these days, I also still feel that pull and desire for beauty.

Honestly, your's and Elle's channels were the best days of the beauty community. I loved when you got to see a real person vlogging their life, along with the beauty. I also loved seeing more accessible fashion, room decor, hair styling, morning routines/evening routines, etc alongside the beauty content, and followable tutorials. I'd honestly love to see that type of content make a comeback.

I am 27 now and went back to University last fall when I was 26. It was your video that inspired me, because I felt the same way you did. I am so happy to see you are content now and I hope I will get to that point in 2 years as well! I would LOVE to hear about your college experience as an adult! In my case it's been a little hard to make real friends, because I already have a social life and balancing that but also finding new friends and maintaining those friendships is really hard.

Aw Blair this made me so happy to see :) You were one of the very first UA-camrs I started watching, which was all the way back in middle school! Back then I too was beauty-obsessed, and for the longest time I thought I wanted to work in the beauty industry (as a product designer, or something in marketing). Halfway though college, though, I realized I really loved experimental psychology and research and completely changed my career aspirations-now I'm about to start my PhD! Seeing this video brought back so many memories and it's great to see that you're also really happy on a very different path :)
I was 17 when you started uploading videos and I can’t believe it’s been 15 years! I uprooted myself and left my corporate job of 8 years and enrolled in college 3 years ago to peruse nursing! I too felt like I was waiting for my life to start by being married but I’m living my best life now perusing a different career and alone! I love it!
I am so glad to see how well you’re doing! You look so happy and content. As someone who is currently in the “waiting for my life to start” phase, I’m really glad to see someone who I’ve always admired making their life happen, with or without those things that we put so much emphasis on “needing”. I have been watching since I was 10 and now I’m almost 24. I finished my bachelors degree in 2 years and 10 months too! I’m currently in school getting my masters degree and working as a special education teacher (:
This is such a cool story! I started watching you in college. I graduated with my BSN in nursing, then went back 4 years later and got my Masters in Nursing Education and I transitioned to full-time teaching in 2020! While both my careers are similar, education is a whole different beast! I love it so much and I’m glad you do too!

I had to do a double take when I saw this pop up cause I was like no way this is new?!!! But wow… I subscribed to you when I was ALSO 15 and I too am 30 now and this was such a nice way for me to look back on my own life and acknowledge the growth and path I’ve been on.. I’m married now, about to move into our first home, in a new state, with our rescue pup.. I have a career I love and ended up with my best friend as my life partner.. when I was 15 I was so convinced I’d be sad forever but I remember how much I loved watching your videos and being able to see how much you’ve grown and in turn look back at my own growth has been nice… you definitely didn’t lose a subscriber here!! This felt like reuniting with a dear friend! From middle school to today, your videos have always brought a smile to my face! I started watching you after moving from MI to FL at age 13, and you helped me to feel like I had a friend during a time full of change. Now, I’m 27 and pursuing my master’s degree while working full-time as an editor. I’d love to adjunct in the future, so it was really cool to hear about your experiences with teaching! I recently packed up my apartment and left a job I was in for 5 years, that wasn't the path for me, and found an environment i love . So, I am so so happy to see you're doing well! You're glowing
When I was 26 I went back to school. I applied and was accepted before all the craziness of COVID happened but I am so thankful for it. 2019 was one of the darkest years of my life and with COVID it could have been worst, but school was such a good distraction from everything that I actually got better during the pandemic. I currently work in non-profit and with a school board working with youth mental health. It really is true when people say there is a light at the end of the dark tunnel. I’m in such a good place and have grown so much as a person. I’m glad to see other people who are considered to be “older” students going back to school on a platform such as yours. There is no age limit to learning 💕

welcome back, queen!!! so exciting to hear about where you are now, started watching your videos in elementary school (!!!) and now I’m in my 20s, so insane. i work in fashion now and know this path for me was largely inspired by those early OG UA-cam “influencer” moments. though my style has changed so much since then (thank god) it brings me so much joy to think back on those early years.
