Project idea… maybe you could lay a fieldstone path between the cottages and the driveway? Maybe could find stones in the creek bed? Might help with the mud.
A truckload of crushed granite is pretty cheap too. She should order it before the spring rains make it a total mudpit. We used crushed granite to make a walkway between our back patio and shed, the grass grew completely thru the rock, but it never gets muddy because the stone is a great barrier to keep the earth from being eroded away when it's sopping wet outside

You always seem far more mature than your 20's to me, probably because I don't know anyone in their 20's who's got land, a van, a truck, 2 cabins and manages to get all of the things done that you do. If you read my comment, I said as a mom this made me think of if she has kids one day it’ll be sweet of her to share these things. Especially if she still has the cabins and leaves them to her kids it’ll be a great testimony to the woman she is and how hard she worked. I also said how awesome it was that she shares it all with us. No need to comment if you’re just going to get defensive about the kids part of it especially when I said it was her choice to do so. 🤷🏼♀️

Our spring in Missouri isn’t too bad this year. Sometimes we skip spring and go straight to summer. It’s been a teaser kinda spring. We get some really awesome days and then back to the cold. Kinda like a roller coaster ride into spring lol.

Great fat lot of help, and so very timely, this ... for the next tile project. When you want to preserve your ornamental edges, cut out the center to reduce the size of a tile.
Hey Hannah love the vids ! You need a 20ft shipping container workshop to store your things and cut wood in. That way you can get your cabins nice and clean ! 😉

I actually agree with this... if it was out in front. But as I recall, she has plenty of space out back of the cabin, where it wouldn't be visible from front... and she could put it among the trees and put a little path thru the trees to get to the shop/storage and it would not look terrible at all.

Our weather in Sydney Australia is also pretty crazy. So much rain, white skies and strangeness. It is Autumn, but it seems to have not yet started in terms of leaf colour or falling.
We are in La Nina'. It is almost like we have tropical wet and dry seasons now. Our spring flowers often get confused, and flower in both Autumn and Spring. It is either humid at 90 percent and raining where we are all flood prone, or it is so dry and humid and hot that we have a season of fires.
Seeing a blue sky, with cool temps is rare. Seeing the sunshine is also rare.
I work as a writer, illustrator, and if it is sunny and blue sky, it is hard to stay in, as it feels like we have to go out to celebrate it.
We don't have many tourists here, and only a few big planes a day, instead of every 5 mins.
When I do go out, I try to do some sketching of Bondi beach, or the Botanical gardens.
I used to be a woodwork teacher, metalwork, design, etc, but was trained to be an art teacher. Never really got to teach art. Then I did some Montessori learning too.
I love how you are able to make these timber things for your cabin. I am not good at hanging artworks either.
My suggestion for the drop saw safety, is to make a little beak with your left hand, close your thumb to your fingers, and hold the timber on the edge with your little v shaped beak, made with the space between your first finger and thumb, this way your thumb is tucked under, so if someone bumps you, all your fingers are like an emu beak! This woodwork teacher, taught high school kids for 14 years, and I have all of my fingers! My boss showed me this and it was the best safety lesson of all time.

Hey... we're in Virginia and had some pretty hard snow just about a week ago, so yep... weather just can't make up its mind. I loved the spring fashions in the snow! I enjoy watching your process when you're building or designing things, or even just cleaning up... it reminds me a lot of how I do things. I really enjoyed the "kick the plywood up so you could shove it down behind the miter saw." That is so me too!
As a Chicagoan, you learn not to expect "spring" til after Memorial Day!

I'm in the process of moving from a two-bedroom apartment into a house. I can't believe how much stuff I have accumulated. I've been packing boxes and taking them to storage off and on for two weeks. I'm finally almost done and then need to hire movers for the furniture. Hannah could have taken care of this in two days while singing and dancing. I'm so envious of her energy and positive attitude. Absolutely love this girl.
@@vph306it's crazy how much stuff you can have in a small apartment. for me it's mostly books and little things (stones, little figurines and other stuff I brought from my travels). Also why do I have like 200 pens and notebooks? I also have several boxes I never touched since I moved in 6 years ago, so I guess they can at least go. It's just difficult to start packing and organising when you don't really have a lot of space to put the boxes. living under the roof makes it just worse. but a good lesson for the next move. don't get too much shit. I already moved four times so I should actually already know that.

Just moved after 33 years of collecting "stuff". Never felt better after selling, tossing, gifting, and donating it all. I don't remember half of what I had, so I guess it really wasn't that important in the first place.
@@AndNowIJustSitInSilence I know, right? I'm like, where did all this stuff come from? I don't remember seeing it come in. My late wife loved Amazon and she would grow attached to things and hold onto them. I know that's part of it. As bad as I hate to, I'm going to have to get rid of some things, but it's things I'll never use and if I don't let them go, they'll just sit in storage. I'm moving in with my sister as it'll help both of us financially, so it's not like I can take much with me, hence, the storage unit. And you're so right, having boxes I haven't even opened in years. I don't even remember what's in them anymore. Apparently, I don't need it whatever it is and now would be the time to let it go. Thanks for the "good luck" wishes.
@@irenepierce167 I can't imagine how much you had after 33 years. I can see how you must feel so much better having gotten rid of some of it. I plan to become a minimalist in the future and have only what I need in the residence. This has proven to be my worst move ever. I have some lower back disc issues and picking up, loading, and unloading all these boxes isn't helping matters any. I'll be done by the end of the week and will be so much happier in my new organized place.

Beats the crap out of driving around in traffic listening to other people blast crap music and all the ills that come with urban and suburban decay. I’d rather deal with a grizzly bear than some of the rotten people these cities have produced. What you got is a gift. Great channel.

I was born and raised in Chicago and while I will always LOVE the midwest, I cannot live there. The winters are just too long. My favorite flowers are daffodils, crocuses, and tulips because they pop up in the midwest JUST when I'm starting to think I'm going to do something rash if winter doesn't go away. Now I live in the pacific northwest, and while it's still nippy and rainy, it's been spring for about a month already. Hope spring shows up for you soon Hannah!

Spring is always a scam here in Indiana. We went from 70's sun to snow a few days later. It got back in the 60's earlier this week and today we had a freeze. For me.. I'm not too bad for a late snow. Here we get fires if the weather gets to dry. Last year we had an unusual heat wave. It was so hot and dry that one town caught fire many people had no homes. So a slow burn (pardon the pun) of more snow into summer seems ok for me.

I don’t know why, but after u built the little time lapse stand and said u had to move the vehicles, all I imagined was u backing right into it with the defender lol. Also, I think it’s adorable and u should add some flowerpots on the top and maybe add a vine like plant to wind around the legs,unless u want it mobile then you can’t really do that. Making gardening functional and pretty u could plant some peas along it too. Snap peas are so tasty and super easy to grow. I am far from a gardener but I’ve always been able to grow peas. Even when I didn’t have land I could grow them on my front porch in a pot and would love to grab them daily when I got home. I think it would be a really cute piece to make into like a little flower feature or garden gnome hideout nature wonderland lol I’m sure your creativity will be much better then mine lol
