Smith&Wesson Model 686 vs. Colt King Cobra

Having some fun comparing the Smith & Wesson Model 686 with the Colt King Cobra. This is akin to the age old debate of "Maryanne or Ginger?". Either way, it gets the job done. Both are excellent, multiple use handguns and pleasures to shoot.

Great video. I've owned the S&W 686 and I have a King Cobra that I bought brand new for less than three hundred dollars wholesale back in the late 80's. I wouldn't sell my 4" bright stainless KC for anything. Every time I see one on Gunbroker and I see what they are asking for them and getting for them I get a worm feeling all over. But this is a great comparison of two great and very similar wheel guns. The only thing better would be to see them tested from a pistol vice at various distances, and ammunition.

You should be using a rest and the same ammunition in each gun to do a valid accuracy test.

Looks like you have a thumbing issue. Not severe, but it's definitely noticeable as both of your groups are off to the right.

Looks to me like the Smith is more accurate in single action and the colt is more accurate in double action. They're both ridiculously accurate, punching 4 holes that touch with the smith is amazing. Pick the name/look you like best and have fun haha

The DA trigger on the Python is better than the 686. Its virtually a custom trigger out of box.

Just Great. I have 3 in 6 inch barrel. Colt King Cobra, the Ruger GP100 and the Smith and Wesson 686 plus.
Of these 3, which is my weak link ?

Your swinging target does not help in portraying how accurate the pistols are.

I would have thought when shooting the mag loads, you would shoot a bit higher
What bullet wt did you use for the test. ?
