@@peopleperson7263 the k6s has the claim of the thinnest 6 rounds 357. So the 686+ is wider and to be fair it’s not a real good conceal carry choice unless you’re at the 3 inch or lower
I’ve been thinking about which one of these guns I want to buy and carry… and you guys drop a video about it! You’re low key one of the best smaller Gun Tube channels.
I recently made that choice. In my area, I had to choose the Colt. If the options were even, I would have chosen the Kimber. The Colt won because of the grip and DA/SA was not available in the Kimber. The sight thing was not in the picture because I am a really old guy and a notch and a ramp is all I expect. I might have chosen either but the DA/SA was the deal breaker. All that said, my handgun for the last 63 years is the 1911A1; it absolutely is my goto and I can hit the x-ring at fifty yards most of the time with it I like the Colt and am still exploring how much. In my profession, I was a 1911 guy and if I was going to be in a fight, that would be my choice.
This is my first watch for your channel and I thoroughly enjoyed your video! It was very informative and should help many in regards to these 2 fine revolvers! I will put in my two cents! Both are nice and shoot very well and I have owned both(Kimber in 4inch)! I think the colt looks nice and has a beautiful finish, but the absence of a rear sight and the lackluster front sight was a little tough for accuracy and disappointed me a bit at the high price point! Also, I’m not a huge fan of the cylinder release on the colt. Finally, I sold it, because of two reasons… #1 Colts terrible and unhelpful/unknowledgeable Customer Service! I called and spoke with colt several times about this particular gun and asked many questions about ammunition and particular problems people were having and Colt fully acknowledged the issues and blew them off! They refused to discuss or elaborate, while only offering excuses and Bland personalities! #2… the problems that were reported on this gun were big problems that should not be happening on a new gun and especially a colt at this price!!! Broken hammers, trigger issues and internal parts breaking, mostly with 400 or less rounds fired from what I was hearing!!! The Kimber had stellar reviews and I could not find any reports of any issues with the kimber k6s models at all! The sights are heads and tails better on the Kimber as well(combat or target) along with the cylinder release as well! The Kimber screams of quality and precision! I do feel like the colt might be better for large hands though! Just my thoughts, but to each his own! Colt needs to up there service and game!!! The python rear sight issue was terrible and they did nothing to remedy it, except tell people that Wilson combat sold better sights for the python and gave advice to buy those aftermarket sights, after customers spent $1300-1700 dollars on their python??? Ridiculous and embarrassing service from Colt! Thanks for the review and honesty! I really appreciated your approach and style of video review!
I was all set to buy a Colt King Cobra, that is until I happened across a Kimber K6s DASA. At the end of the day the much better sights on the Kimber won me over the slightly lighter trigger pull on the Colt. Loved the styling and quality workmanship of the Kimber as well.
Good review and shooting guys! I picked the kimber target over the colt in the store because is was so nice looking and sights, even though it was $200 more. I have ordered LOK grips for it though.
Gentlemen, This was a very entertaining video! I wasn’t expecting much from a smaller channel but I loved it. Had a k6s and got rid of it unfortunately during Covid, traded it for a HK p30sk. Was just more practical with not being able to find ammo for revolvers. Looking into getting one back or maybe I will go with the Colt this time. Still not sure! Thanks again! Subscribed now!
I like the Colt all the way! You'll get used to the sight picture and I much prefer the trigger, the grip and classic looks of the Colt, not to mention the Colt is as Western as Marlin and Winchester. You'd need to put a couple hundred rounds (at least) to really give a good review but it was fun anyway!
Bought a new Colt King Cobra. The trigger broke in the fire position with the firing pin forward. If it would have been loaded at the time. It would have been an accidental discharge. I am a huge Colt fan. I sent back to factory. They repaired sent back to me exact same thing happened two weeks later. I could have been killed. Lost complete confidence in the gun. They let me trade it out for a 1911. Thank God for safe fire arm handling practiced. Otherwise I would have been dead.
The K6S DASA is such a neat looking gun. The Colt is nice, but kinda plain. Between these two, I'm choosing the Kimber. Throw a Python in the mix, it might be a different story 🤷♂️
It’s nice to see some younger, responsible gun tubers. I like the looks of the Kimber. It’s on my radar.
“Here’s our ca…our box..our cardboard box…nothing to really talk about” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
A few dudes shooting nearly $2000 worth of revolvers. Chill vibe nice work.
I have the k6s and numerous smith 686+ in various barrel lengths
I know the 686 + has 7 , but is it significantly thicker than kimber?
Heavier. Waaaaayyy heavier
@@pete4633 lol yea. Is it much wider though ?

686+ is thee best combat revolver
Colt revolvers are iconic, but man those kimber's are sweet!😊
Great review guys. I can’t get past the Kimber not wanting to extract the casings. Not something you want to happen when you only have 6.

thanks. we try to give unbiased info I think if you have big hands, The Colt probably would be better. but the Kimber is better for concealed carry.
The Kimber is much lighter

4:50 does this happen a lot? Ive read failure to eject happens a lot because it uses the same ejector rod as the 2inch version.
Had the Kimber and it kept getting out of time.finally sold it and got the King Cobra and never looked back.
Nice

Your channel is great, keep doing content. 👍🏽
Extraction on the Kimber is a deal breaker for me. Shells didn't clear the end of the chambers no amount of cleaning is going to fix that.
Nice to see young people reviewing firearms!

Replace the Kimber grip with a nice Hogue rubber grip. Issue solved. 40 bucks.
Hard choice between those 2 🤔

Good job, young guys!
The Colt has a better name. Let’s keep it a 💯 and all agree on that.
That’s about all the colt really has. The kimber has a better quality control record in my opinion. They are both great revolvers though.
Nice video keep posting more videos 💯

Regarding machining marks: look inside the Colt frame right above the forcing cone… Those look hideous.
still can’t react to hearing “double-single action”. double action guns are different than double action ONLY.

Here is a shorter review. K6S is excellent. New Colts suck. Review complete.
The Kimber sucks.mine kept getting out of time and had issues with the trigger as well
@@deanmiller6177bummer
Just my opinion, the Kimber should’ve been tested against something more formable like a Smith and Wesson😮
😂
You guys need to practice. Terrible shots and please use double action instead of easier single action.
