Wow. What a relief. Finally. No intro graphics. No music. Cut to the chase. Well spoken. Calm demeanor. Pleasant person. Great info. Well covered topic. Two enthusiastic thumbs up 👍👍 . oh, ... and cute studio background.
It's always cool to come on to UA-cam and find what I'm reading about online and get a description of what a product is. So I can keep up on my electronic guru knowledge somewhat. And what services are offered with that tech that I end up buying or I don't end up buying
Was trying to figure out weather or not to get the subscription. The free works for me but would like audio recording as well. Was wondering if you got audio and video recording with the plus?
Hi. I did not understand what is the plus or benefit of nest aware with speakers. Can you help me?
Hi which subscription do I need for outdoor IQ with full features please.
I got Nest everything, I switching to the new plan with 24/7 recording. I’ve been waiting for this change.
i now i have a camera addiction .keep up the good work.
Very good and clear explanation. It helped me with my decision which nest aware option to pick. Thanks.
I'm keeping with the old plan. Thanks for the info.
Are there any non-Nest cameras compatible with Nest Aware? If so, which subscription do you need?
Hey, Steve. I just added 2 cameras but they don't show up in Nest Aware subscription. I gave it a different location name and I'm wondering if I need to delete them and reinstall under the current location name.
Does it include Nest thermostats?
As a current Nest Aware subscriber for just my Hello Doorbell, I think I’ll keep my current plan. But this new option is fantastic for those looking to get multiple Nest cams on Nest Aware.
Much better...I sold my nest cameras because of the old pricing model...still wish they had an outdoor wireless camera
Question for you! Is there another camera other then nest that records 24/7 ?
Great info! When I try to upgrade my current Nest account, which was NOT converted into a Google account, if offers me the option of a "Nest Aware (1st gen) account. Any idea what the difference are, other than the lack of support for "Works with Nest" connections?
Thanks Frank. I did read that you do have to convert to a Google account to get the new plan. Good to know that you still have the old plans with a nest account.
I currently have 8 Eufy camera’s for my house and yard, but there not continuous recording since there battery powered. I am thinking of switching to nest or ring. Which is the best in y’all’s opinion for indoor and outdoor use for continuous recording and best quality? TIA
I don’t think Ring offers continuous recording. You’d be better off with Nest.
I have a question. 3months ago I bought a nest camera but one camera stood working. One thing led to another and I rebooted and factory reset both cameras and changed the home name. Now I'm trying to get my already paid subscription for the year to apply to my same cameras. How to do this?
I have the basic Nest only one camera I want to hook up my mini Google home to it how do I upgrade to the new nest
Does nest have 24/7 professional monitoring?
I’m using Wyze cams. Their night vision is “Starlight” and incredible as is their daytime imaging. The price for their new version 3 indoor/outdoor model is just $19.98. I have an indoor Nest IQ and the image quality is not as good as the Wyze. I paid almost $200 for it so of course, I’m using it. I’m using the $50 plan. Wyze offers free video recording for 14 days but I use their CamPlus which has the Nest Plus features for $14.99 a YEAR.
When is ring going to add 24/7 recording
I bought I nest wasn't aware of the price hike. My family recommended getting it for the 5 dollar month 24/7 recording looks like that change recently and it's disappointing. Give us 3 tiers for 1 camera users:(
im confused. what does the subscription do for the speakers? you said it covers all the cameras, I understand that. but what do you mean by covering the speakers. speakers dont record, or do they record?!!
Great job breaking it down. Another quality video.
Thank you Christopher!
Nice I’m switching to the new plan. I have 4 nest and 4 arlos so this might make me switch to all Nest.
Yea this new plan is very enticing to jump to Nest.
I have 5 cameras and I am switching now ($80 savings) and I can get the multiple camera coverage for 10 days on all cameras for going on two years now. I just had 10-day history on our main two cameras. It's about time Google came out with a new plan. Hopefully prices and services continue to come down because I'm still paying for security as well ... or Google can find a way to bundle security in partnership with a reputable provider and make it one bill.
That awesome that they're offering such competitive pricing. I personally wish that Ring would offer 24/7 Recording rather than "Snap-Shot Capture" like they promised they would back in 2018 I believe it was.
Do you know approximately how long the battery lasts on the nest cam with 24/7 recording?
@facts1752 if the camera isn't wired into a power source 24/7 isn't available
Nest app does not recognize Nest Cam (battery), right?
Just bought the Nest Plus subscription since I have 8 cameras which I purchased because of Google’s announcement for this plan. Had they
not offered this plan there is no way I would have gone with Nest at their old prices. Good move on Google’s part!
why do you need recording on speakers or home hubs? Seems like this is good if you have multiple cameras but don't understand the use case for recording speakers or home hubs. This pricing still seems crazy expensive if you only have a doorbell camera. Ring gives you 60 days of event based recording for 30/yr. vs 30 days at 2x the cost.
Have 4 cameras and so will definitely switch, probably to Aware Plus as I like the 24/7 recording...I wonder if you can switch between Aware and Aware Plus easily. Really enjoy your videos, please do review more Nest products. Stay safe.
Thanks Matthew. Switching between the 2 plans should be pretty easy.
With the 24/7 recording do you get audio recording as well or is it still just video?
I only have doorbell right now but I'm planning to buy indoor cam as well. So I guess I'll switch to $6 nest aware.
Is that mean I'll loose my 24/7 recording for 5 days that I currently have? I'm not sure if I understand it correctly but that so called event video history means that it's recording only movements, zone movements, people, etc. and when nothing is moving or happening those times will not be saved to the cloud? is that right? please somebody help me :)
Yes you are correct. If you want to keep the 24/7 recording you'll need to pay the $12 a month.
I wish that arlo ultra can do something similar with their plan, paying extra $9.99 por camera to add continuous recording is insane.
Can you tell me what can I get for free
I just buy the product and leave it be what can I get when you comes to security?
Is the new pricing scheme per account or per site? I have 2 sites..tks
Per account.
i have a google nest. and i cant seem to set it up on their google home app. no personal settings available. can you help.
I think you still set up personal settings in the Nest App
yes do more on nest please .also i have ring also.keep up the good work.and arlo to.
Wow, you have as much variety as I do. I’ll do my best. Haha
Hi, im from England. I love your videos!!!
I would love to see you review nest products. Also in England we have products from a company called Ezviz. Would there be any chance of you making reviews of their products if they are locally available to you?
Thanks😁
Also any chance of doing more reviews on DIY alarm systems?
I'll check it out!
@@SteveDOES thanks!
Ezviz is just rebranded hikvision gear
Keep the old plan. I need the history 24/7 video
Can anyone explain it to me how does “10 days 24/7 countinously recording “ work . Is It means that your camera will keep a record of what happened in 10 days and by the 11th day it will automatically delete the history that has been recorded and then continue recording and save for the next 10 days.
No, it will always keep your last 10 days. So basically it deletes one day at a time. Hope this makes sense.
I wish Nest would come out with a wireless camera like Ring!
I’m really surprised that they haven’t already.
I need more than 3 hrs. of video recording space. Due to harassing and trespassing neighbors, I cannot delete any of them (to make more room) as they are needed for police reports. How do I get more video time?
I'd still rather have the ability to record to local storage like a NAS device but unfortunately Google blocks this. Then I think the 30 days of notification would make even more sense as you could look through your own video and see if there's anything else happening. Using your bandwidth to send all your video to them and then downloading again to look at it seems a little crazy especially since the nest aware still misses a lot of stuff and still sends you notifications that shadows and daylight changed outside or a car drove by.
What NAS system do you use? I’m thinking about getting one to test with products that support it.
@@SteveDOES I use a Synology DS1813+ with 32 terabytes. You do have to license the IP cameras but it's a one-time fee.
@@Tanquen Very cool! I have the Synology DS112j with 2TB. I built it about 6 years ago and it really needs to be upgraded.
My CCTV is my neighbour. They watch my house 24/7 with 8k resolution and 360° without subscription.
Interesting! Thanks.
You bet!
How to access more than 30 days old footage my life is on line here can someone help please
There must be a non monthly subscription unit ..units available. You would think if you already have Chromecast the Google engineers could complement that existing hardware. Anyone know of any non subscriber companies. Apps must be out there
It would be helpful if you would review the functionality of the original Nest app compared to the Google home app -- the original Nest app provides one screen to view all cameras live; the Google home app does not.
Nest or Blink Cameras ???
I’m fuming. I’ve had two cameras with 5 day CVR since December for £3 a month. I believe they changed the gen 1 nest aware to multiple cameras at some point end of 2019. One broke the other day and Nest very quickly replaced it, Great! However the new camera can’t use the old subscription so I’m now forced to “upgrade” for an extra £2 and I loose the 5 day CVR. But wait it’s ok I can pay £7 more to get it back 🤬
Same here. Just replaced Nest Hello and not able to add to 1st Gen Nest Aware
My old subscription must have run out a few days ago ,with no warning or heads up. Went to nest aware and the only option are the two that you show in video which neither one works for me. Can’t find how to get original subscription of 5 days 24/5 subscription! Can’t find a number to speak to someone to try and resolve this. HORRIBLE service!!! I’m glad I didn’t buy another one!
I just have the Nest hello. I prefer the 5 day continuous recording. I'm going to stick with that.. If they make me switch I will just end up getting the one that my alarm system sells.
I’d stick to that too.
Same here. The continuous is far superior and 5 days is plenty for me.
Till your device breaks and then you can’t add the new one to this subscription.
Same here, stick to my old plan
@@sycope this is what I'm dealing with. Just replaced Nest Hello under warranty and not able to add new one to the existing substitution. Support told me there is no way to add it and that I will need a new Nest Aware subscription. 🤮
I will keep the Wyze at this time and record locally and have the free even based cloud recording
That’s WYZE of you 😅
Don't forget the cost of your Internet speeds as well.
You probably already know the now, but that's the nest aware prices have gone way down
I have 14 cameras. The new Nest Aware subscription model saved me about 75% what I paid previously. Yikes!
I just NEST had better WiFi, I have been using their service for a few years (can't afford another service) but their WiFi constantly drops. I have my camera on a shed, within WiFi range, I have Fiber, never below 300 Mbps, I have repeaters. It still drops but when it works the camera quality is fantastic.
Its good for people with 3 or more cameras but if you got 2 cameras then its too expensive
They finally did the new plan. Having 20 cameras sucked.
My new best camera is a beast. And it’s also Fcking intimidating “my neighbor” lol
Which camera did you pick up?
Amazon echoes can detect smoke alarm & glass breaking for free but google has a plan for it 👁️👄👁️
I'm pleased to see the new pricing scheme. I was hoping this video might touch on compatibility and software requirements for Apple folks. Apparently, after about three hours of searching on the Internet, I have no idea.
It's nice if u own multiple cameras but kind of screwing over ppl who want just the doorbell with 24/7 recording
Switching to the new plan is optional so that’s a good thing.
@Ash Moe Yes, i believe that's correct. New customers will only have the new options.
In some ways it's good but it kind of puts a spanner in Arlo's works with it's 'updated' plans which cost more for less. Arlo is £7.99 for Arlo Smart for only 5 devices and 30 days events recording but now Nest is so much cheaper with more devices and twice the amount of days. Arlo really needs a re-think on its plans again because they will lose people to Nest now.
I think Arlo's argument would be that their plans record in 2k and 4k quality, where Nest and Ring only record to the cloud in 1080p. But i agree, Arlo keeps loosing more and more ground to the competition.
Steve DOES I’m really disappointed in Arlo, I have the ultra and it seems like things are getting more expensive over time.
Google nest plan $6 for doorbell cam and 2 outdoor camera a month for a year or forever?
That's some expensive cameras to only need a wifi scrambler to kill. Why no poe and ethernet connection I wonder?
Update: Nest aware is gone and the cameras i.e. Nest Aware IQ cameras are now bricks.
Im dropping my Ring, which died and I pay for the Ring floodlight camera which costs me 6 dollars. I'm going google nest now.
Honestly I need good cameras? Stalked/ hacked for years now. Ya cops involved. Are they in my network?, is that possible? Or just my Wi-Fi? Cuz I did have period where it was ok just switched boxes. I don’t get it, I’m not that special, it just makes no sense. Recent wanting to kill…. I bought a blink system and since a lot of action second I unplug module other stuff stats working properly. Honestly I just want caught. I now trust no one!! Including people I trusted my life w. It’s that bad!! Is there Wi-Fi secure

i have clicked every link on google that claims i can cancel nest aware and it won't let me. It then offered to have someone call me in one minute and no one has called in an hour. What I am learning it the only way to get out of paying google is i'll have to cancel that credit card. eff google mfers!
Nest just doubled my Nest Aware plan from $80 to $160. Nest sucks. I cancelled yesterday. Feb 16/24 the same day they emailed me if doubling the price. I will never again buy a GOGGLE or NEST product. All… do yourself a favour and never buy these products.
How do you cancel ur subscription?
I’m horrified I just put it out there like that but something gotta give!! J fbi k skin obviously cuz I’m still here 5 yrs I know of….. oh u gotta laugh at it!
