Alpha lipoic Acid
Thanks for the video. You truly are a fountain of knowledge in our lives, Dr. Greger!
Would it be safe to take Mucuna the same day you took benzodiazepines or alcohol or would it be risky?
Thanks
I am so glad I met you in Toronto at Veg Fest over a decade a go (Apple a Day lecture). Your dedication to your work is impressive and inspiring. I would be grateful if you did a series on ADHD and it's dopamine issue, as this has me wondering if eating faba beans would help those of us with ADHD.
Amazing. God really did give us everything we need to survive and thrive in plants
Does wonders for those in a very stressful work environment, aka me. Really helped me. Just make sure you cycle on and off. Would love the doctor to give us hints on the safety of it for normal folks.
Plants are pure magic.
Omg.....the patient's before and after results were like night and day!
20 seconds in and I subscribed.. this lad is adorable
I have been diagnosed with early onset PD primarily with bradykinesia and I have been taking mucuna extract powder from Amazon for about a week now and it has done wonders. I no longer have symptoms associated with bradykinesia, more energized, and more focused. It's like I am back to my old self again. My question is, does prolonged use of mucuna lower the effectiveness over time to treat symptoms?
I'm pretty sure you need to take breaks from what I've seen from people's anecdotal experiences. A few days in a couple days off type thing and so forth.
Vitamin B1 is very effective in treating Parkinson's.
I heard this helps with depression/anxiety is that right?
I have a bottle of Mucuna Pruriens after reading glowing reviews about it for depression, however i'm now disheartened to learn there may be a risk of permanent involuntary movements on it, what is your opinion on this?
Would you take amphetamines for your depression? Meth? Research drugs? If the answer is no, then you shouldn't be touching mucuna either. All dopamine agonists, PAMs et al will inevitably lead to some degree of tolerance and side effects regardless of how "natural" they are.
You look so great Dr.G! Thank you and bless you beloved! 💐🙏🌱🌍🌱🙏💐
Thanks again for all your great work, Doctor.
Also treating ulcers and biofilm possibly causing it?
Yes Fava beans helps I think that's why normal people feel happy after having a broad beans meal lol
learned myself, its been used in ayurved for thousands of years. Including
1. Ashwaganda
2. Bacopa Moneari (Brahmi)
3. Muccuna Puriens
4. Malkangni
and so many more.
the more I learn, the more I appreciate Indian Ayurved and the many geniuses lost to the past
How do we find the part 2 for this? Really helpful info...

AM ABOUT TO TEACH PLANT CONSUMPTION....
Plans like Velvet bean or fava beans ( mucun) were not designed to be consumed largely like...The restrictions is all over it..... When is this plant touched without stings, is it when it tender? I bet you that the best time to consime it is when touching it isnot ichy naturally, not after u cook or alter it in a way
Thank you!
Did anyone track down the mucuna pruriens supplement manufacturers that passed the label claim tests? I pulled up the study referenced in the video but it didn’t list the names of the manufacturers.
Fascinating!
Indeed..

I posted a comment with a question yesterday and it is now gone. Are comments normally deleted when the question is noted, or is this just general moderation?
Should I ask my questions somewhere else?
yeah, my comments disappear if I put a link to frontiers research papers in them. WTF lol?
Question for you, Dr. Greger. I found some research that seems to imply no relationship between vegetable consumption and heart disease in an extremely large sample (400k adults). I didn't find any strange incentives in play, but i couldn't make sense of why the results would be so. Could you comment on what I might have missed. Paper "Raw and Cooked Vegetable Consumption and Risk of Cardiovascular Disease: A Study of 400,000 Adults in UK Biobank"
Amazing
Where I can to buy the best Mucuns Pruriens ? Very good explication of you.
Interesting. Since problems with ADHD stem from a lack of dopamine, would this possibly help with that as well?
Great video !
My friend Vicente Banegas from Honduras he cure with that herb and Also he took Boron capsules .
Wondering if this would also be good for Alzheimer's?
💕
The background music is distracting and adds nothing to the content or “entertainment “ value..
Love your channel and appreciate the info anyway!
👏 bravo
What the hell! That is cow each it will scratch you to death, its dangerous.
What are you talking about pal ?
I'm guessing the next video will steer clear of recommending eating liver with fava beans and a nice Chianti. 🤤👹
This plant is evil! If it takes over your yard you will be sorry!!
What are you talking about folk ?
Homeopathy

I wonder if these magic beans would help with ADHD.
Ptaah: "92. Glutamate is probably a taste enhancer, but at the same time it is also a nerve poison that can cause certain types of cancer, visual disorders, memory disorders, various allergies, metabolic disorders and Alzheimer's and various nervous diseases.
93. Parkinson's syndrome is also a common manifestation of glutamate, along with various other conditions.
94. The number of human beings suffering from glutamate could drop rapidly if this seasoning salt were to be withdrawn from the market or used only in minimal quantities.
95. However, glutamate can also be used in a special form as a medical drug to promote concentration and for therapeutic purposes, e.g. to increase the ability to perform at a high level of consciousness.
96. In principle, however, glutamate must be classified as a drug-like product that should be banned from foodstuffs.
97. It should be banned in purchased foods and should only be used to a very small extent in home-produced food.
Billy:
So this stuff is not harmless at all, and yet it is used irresponsibly to enhance flavour in countless foods, as well as in prepared foods specifically. E-substances are also often saturated with glutamate, as I know. But there is also glutamic acid, what is wrong with it?
Ptaah:
98. The pure form of glutamic acid stands out as an amino acid in many protein-containing foods, whereby it plays a very important role in the metabolism of the cells, especially in the brain.
Billy:
Aha. Thanks for the explanation."

@@auberjean6873 You have to look for Billy Eduard Albert Meier.
If I had Parkinson’s I’d be eating bowls and bowls of this stuff everyday. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
I take full capsules of it several times a day. I do in fact have Parkinson's disease
@@higherstateofmynd I really hope it’s working for you! I wish you peace friend
@@higherstateofmynd How is it going there ? My aunt has parkinson, I would like to recommend this velvet beans to her, but I need to find more information and reviews from people that already have used them.
Any similar research on familial shakes?
My Mum's eyes were like saucers on mucuna, she acted like she was on cocaine.
Sounds fun
Fantastic stuff, Dr. Greger!

@@phoebegraveyard7225 Or it could be they dont have it ready yet. People have to have everything now! Now damnit! Or you must be purposely holding out!
@@phoebegraveyard7225 It's called a series for a reason. This channel has been uploading like this for years. People are less likely to watch a 45 minute video... So large topics are broken down into segments.
Im wondering how many calories dr.Greger consumes and recommends?
Very informative
Within schizophrenia could this help their quality of life after taking dopamine suppressor's
I wish we had a national investment from the NIH to do deep research into herbal medicines.
I love this channel ... and at the time of publishing this video 923K people agree with me. One million soon!

Wowww
Iam a schizophrenia patient. But suffering frm cognitive distinction too can i take mucuna pruriens
Look up niacin and schizophrenia and b complex I forget the original doctor but I'm pretty sure Dr Berg has a video about it

Highly highly informational and practical on this topic. I had feared naturally treating my symptoms of Early Onset Parkinson's Disease for many years! There was so little information readily available to me on the naturopathic or homeopathic doseage and useage. I presently take this supplement every day several times a day & add moringa to my capsules for choline. I had COMPLETELY forgotten about implementing FAVA beans into my diet. I'd researched they could be highly beneficial for PWP. (People with Parkinson's) Thank you, so much! & WOW, that video demo illustrating it's use in a PWP!
