Mucuna pruriens is a renowned Ayurvedic herb, or rather legume, used extensively in one of the oldest health care systems in the world, the traditional Indian medical system of Ayurveda. As a highly cherished Rasayana and rejuvenating powder, it is known to be especially supportive to the nervous system functions, especially for its influence as a nervine tonic helpful for calming anxiety-related tension.
Commonly utilized in powdered form, it is believed to contain a particular compound that potentially acts as a precursor to certain mood-uplifting neurotransmitters. Powders are often used as a dietary supplement added in small amounts to teas or blended drinks.

I mix this with GABA and Zinc and take it right before bed. It gives me the most vivid and colorful dreams ever! Not only that, that combo is known to boost human growth hormone production, which is restorative, so I find myself sleeping only 5-6 and feeling complete restored the day after when I normally need about 8 hours without it. Lastly, yes I feel hornier when I take it!

depends on the straighten or percentage of the powder, I presume. Start with a low dose, and work your way up to a 'comfortable' amount. HINT: if your stomach rejects a certain amount/high dose, consume a lesser amount.

This plant grows like a weed and yet it's so good for you. I'm amazed everyone isn't growing this plant. And there is a variety with much smaller bristles on the beans - these are the main problem with growing it however because the smaller bristle variety is much safer - people should grow it. I had 11 beans, put them in some succulent / cacti potting mix (for the drainage as I live in the tropics with wet season) - 100% success rate. All legumes contain Lectins and that is the plant's defense against predation. Humans are resistant to some lectins but not most. Lectins attach to your stomach lining and cause inflammation. So if I hear someone has been eating beans and suffered intestinal upsets - they should try pressure cooking the beans as this will destroy the lectins. Not sure if that destroys the medication but pressure cooking is one known way to destroy lectins. Otherwise you can try eating something like Okra or fish oil before you eat the beans and this should protect your stomach lining from the lectins.

My body forgot how to breathe when I took this. I was driving and realized I wasnt breathing. Then I had to tell myself to breathe basically each breath for the next hour. REALLY scary because it felt llike I was getting no air. Eventually turned to panic. I think the adrenaline helped my breathing go back to normal. Thought maybe it was just my body being weird to a new supplement. Turns out "disturbed breathing" is a damn side effect. I am afraid to take it now :/

It wasn’t panic until I realized I had absolutely no control over my breathing. The side effect from a study done said some participants had disturbed breathing. Anything messing with the neurotransmitters in the brain can effect breathing signals. I take new supplements regularly, I’m not afraid of them, and I never get panic attacks. I legitimately noticed my breathing was not working right, before I knew of this side effect, found out after when searching.

Your body adapts to the substance just like anything else used habitually. I wouldnt use macuna for any long period of time. It has the potential to downregulate not only dopamine receptors, but an enzyme responsible for converting amino acids into dopamine. Once that enzyme downregulates it's very stubborn to function normally again and can take a really long time to get back to normal. I personally wouldnt consume it more than two days in a row and spread the doses far apart. two weeks apart at least would be ideal and one absolute minimum.
