    Great video set. I really, truly appreciate the mentions of everything that went wrong with the install. Too many videos just show installs too easily like everything goes as planned. Thanks for the insight on frustration and rewards of owning a Foxbody Mustang.

    Landan good to see you figured out that problem. Im still figuring out what ignition problem my foxbodies having. I really think that coupe could make more power since American Muscles project foxbody made around 465 power and 455 torque. Thats just with a Ford Racing top end. In other words, GT40X 64CC heads, E303 cam and Cobra intake on the same supercharger kit. LMR coupe vs American Muscle project foxbody dyno result.

    I went through similar issues trying to get mine tune after installing the same kit from having to ditch the T-Rex because it was restrictive on my 255 in tank and getting rid of the fuel management and going with a tune and 42lb injectors with a matching Pro M mass air but that butt connector in the s hose was a doozy. Well worth the trouble though with the close to 500 hp that I achieved when it was all said and done

    Nice job guys. Just one thing. You knew it was a feeling problem from the start, why not drop the tank and remove the setup from inside the tank. It was a no brainer from my stand point. Not knocking your work but it is what I would have done. I know finding a butt connector in there was a real ordeal but it would have been found first. Keep up the good things you guys do!!!

  • @Sonicaceman

    Sounds like a typical foxbody head shaker, it took me years to figure out a misfire at part throttle.... I tried everything, plugs wires, distributor, timing, fuel pressure regulator and low and behold I did The simplest thing that fixed it, just took the maf out and cleaned it with Maf cleaner and a q-tip carefully, it was carbon black and chunks came off it, after doing this all the misfires and backfires were gone, amazing how the simplest and strangest things plague these cars but I love them anyway 😛

    Lmao! A butt connector! When I got my 86 I found the return like was plugged on my fuel pump hanger. Found this when I dropped the tank to upgrade the pump. Someone had replaced it and forgot to uncap it. This caused it to run rich. Like yours mine had a dicey history(many unknown POs).

      No, it isn't. Coyotes are putting down pretty similar numbers in stock form. All while weighing about 500lbs more. You're likely comparing the advertised flywheel horsepower of the coyote to the actual rear wheel horsepower shown here.

  • @afri1414
    @afri1414 6 років тому +1

    Great video. I have to get baseline numbers for my '88 GT before I decide what to do. I've heard I can be in the 370 hp to the wheels range, naturally aspirated with the 302 sbf. 400+ hp with a coyote swap. Decisions, Decisions...lol.

      +Late Model Restoration this may be a dumb question, but I swear you guys were running two fuel pumps for most of these videos? How can you have the stock one in the gas tank, and then have a much bigger one in line ahead of it?

    • @brandontraugher
      @brandontraugher 6 років тому

      M Goldun pumps run in series will add pressure, pump in tank may produce 70, pump to may produce 100, total of 170psi in fuel line then the diaphragm type fuel pressure regulator adjusts it to the required pressure for the fuel rail. Numbers are random btw. As long as the pressure doesn't exceed the rating of the fuel lines and the regulator is working properly it won't cause issue
