I'm sitting on quite a few intakes that I've used for my PI swapped 98 GT, including a rare HPS Hardballer and original FRPP SVO w/the matching SVO heads. That difference in performance and quality vary more than most realize. The coolant port towards the back has broken on at least 2 of my OE PI intakes. Personally I found this VERY interesting! @@davidduker4441 It looks like the coolant port for this new one is a two piece design and apparently the coolant port for this new intake is made out of metal. A nice upgrade in that aspect for sure.
This was expected. Better than the dorman. And, really, except for the power loss, better than the oem pi intake in reliability with the improved crossover and the heater port. It is what it is.
Obviously selling this as a “Ford Performance” part is misleading, bordering on fraud, but one thing I see in the video that makes me happy is that the aluminum crossover FINALLY seals directly to the heads! Since almost every PI manifold fails where the plastic manifold and aluminum crossover meet, this new design should mean never having to replace the manifold again! I still wouldn’t use it on a car where performance is a concern, but for the countless panther cars and daily driver SN95s, it could be a decent option.

You cant. You can either install P.I heads on your car. OR you can go see the ChrisFix video where he installs a P.I intake on his NPI Mustang 4.6 (1998). He rigs it so that it works but thats the risk you will be taking.
Thanks for the comment. Honestly, it could be that you just stick to a non-pi intake for simplicity. I've never personally installed a PI intake onto a non-PI cylinder head. Like someone else mentioned, dig around on the Internet and see what you can find. -Landan
Speed master adapter plates 4.6 npi to 4.6 pi intake.
@@akkmdk sweet! sure beats rtv
@@akkmdk What the..why have I never come across this before in all my searching. Have you tried these plates? Also, thank you!
Looks like I’m just going to go twin screw once my 4 year “old” PI intake cracks. That was the plan anyway lol.
There’s still options, there’s a bullit intake on EBay right now for $1200 which I would gladly buy instead of this replacement piece of junk, it may be expensive but it’s one and done..
@@NewEdgeDesigns I agree staying N/A or going turbo/centrifugal the bullitt intake is the way to go. Why spend the $$$ buying the plastic intake 3 or 4 times over the life of the car instead of just a one and done bullitt (or trick flow) intake. As they say buy once cry once lol.
Can Anyone tell me if this intake will fit a 2007 f150 4.6 2v. Mine is leaking and Ford has Discontinued the factory intake for the f150s. The Dorman has mixed reviews and I would like to use a Ford part as i believe it will last longer i do not care about hp gains or losses just longevity. Any thoughts or advise would be much appreciated Thanks!
No. Although it will physically bolt up, there were other attaching pieces that were specific to the F-150 intake manifold. -Landan
@latemodelrestoration Thank you for your Response!
Can you replace that intake with a Ecoboost mustang 😮
Man to the people complaining you should appreciate that they stepped up and made this after having a list of 1000+ people on back order, regardless its a welcomed manifold in my eyes...in a market where all parts seem to be disappearing this is candy 🍬.
I keep hearing “2V bros”… where is the love for the “4V guys” 😔 I just wanna build my Mark 8 🤭
The new intake looks nice tho!!!!
Got to try to find a Trick Flow or Bullit intake
Can find them just the $1000 price tag doesn’t justify buying it
Will this fit a 2010 Crown victoria?
Yes
Yes
You al made the Video ! Sucks the intakebmanifols makes less power.
I plastic weld repair the PI intakes from the junkyard whenever I need one. Its a PITA but I save a little bit of cash
Can I use this manifold on my Grand Marquis 😂?
Yes. -Landan
5:44 😂
Old PI intake is the best but you honestly can barely feel that much power loss. 4.6 at the end of the day needs a blower and you will never look back
What am I missing? My 2010 LTC already makes 239 HP and 287 fp of torque. The 2010 PI Crown Vic has 250 HP and 297 torque. This would be less HP and torque than my LTC.
Those ratings are at the engine's flywheel. It takes power to turn the drivetrain (transmission, driveshafts, axles, wheels). The horsepower and torque shown in the video is at the rear wheels. Think of rear wheel horsepower and torque as your take home pay after taxes are taken out. Let me know if you have any questions. -Landan
@@latemodelrestoration Thanks for that answer. I always thought the company specs were at the rear wheels. What is the crank HP and torque of the PI manifold engine or what is the rear wheel rating for a stock 2010 LTC?
@@altg5708 I don't know the rear wheel horsepower and torque numbers of a Lincoln Town car since I've never dyno'd one. I have dyno'd a Crown Vic. I'll leave a link below. -Landan

Any coupon codes floating around? 👀 Have to re-order MMR solid steering rack bushings that I bought from you last year because I lost them 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Hey there. Thanks for the comment. We appreciate you considering us for your parts and sorry to hear that your misplaced some parts. At this time, we don't have any coupon codes. Thanks! -Landan
@latemodelrestoration Alright, thanks for the reply. I already ordered last night anyway 👍
@@sategllib2191 Thank you for your business! We really appreciate it! -Landan
Used old style PI intakes will now go for 500+
So what I took from this is I'm just better off pulling a used one from a Junkyard panther platform car or finding an old style one for sale on ebay that was never taken out of its box like I did back in 2021 for my own crown vic
Lowkey disappointed. The hunt for a NOS old PI intake begins.
Lowkey good luck
Just fine in aluminum typhoon intake and do a little porting work on it and you're good to go
@@neilbrown82 Have you seen how much those are used? $1,500 no thanks.
@@TheNightmare692009 lol you can definitely find them for under $1,000 if you look good thing my vic already has one
You won't find one
lol I over bought two back in 2021 now I got two spare pi intakes in storage
Let me buy one
Disappointing but thanks for the great information and the time.
You don’t need this if you own a 99+ right?
Fits 99-04 if u got PI heads
I mean if your current intake cracks or something, you'll need it
*Edit* I forgot that Mustangs got PI starting with the first year of New Edge. Trucks and Crown Vics got PI in 01, hence the confusion.
@yeanah2571 mustangs got the pi treatment in 99
Speaking on behalf of Mustangs since that is what we do, the PI (Power Improved) cylinder heads were used on all 1999-2004 Mustang GTs. This intake would serve as a replacement if you need one. Thanks! -Landan
Basically, a direct fit replacement for the original one that you can now buy directly from Ford.
Lame af. You guys should start making copies of the old pi intake.
For a whopping 10HP difference? Really?
@@RyTrapp0yes
eBay has off brand OG PI intakes, anyone try them yet??
Man, what a bummer. Ford has the intelligent folks and the manufacturing capability to literally just copy the old PI intake, and they chose not to.
Ford should of used the original design, plain simple. Just like the new design, has better material and heater port. I would of bought two of them, an extra one for the long run.
I'm sure these aftermarket companies are going to start making a killing ie trick flow specifically lol
So why buy this if its worse?
What else are you going to buy for the 2V 4.6?
@@MustangFord nothing car got sold
@@reggeckmann3993 Well thats your fault not mine. Youre the one who asked the question pal 🤣
I can’t believe they made an intake that makes less power than the original.
Blows my mind that your losing power from the original intake. What is ford thinking with messing with runner length... its not a coyote motor.
It’s ridiculous and truly disappointing
@@NewEdgeDesigns agreed 👍
@@marine0331inf There are off brand OG PI intakes on EBay, I actually have one on this Sonic Blue GT that I’m flipping, but it’s not on the road so I can’t really test it.. I wonder if these EBay intakes are the best option??
Hey Landan. I’ll take that oem intake manifold in the video for 1k
Thanks for the offer, but it isn't for sale. -Landan
@@latemodelrestoration😂 It was worth a shot 🤷🏼♂️ I found one from a parts store in Mexico for $960 shipped after 3 months of searching every night.
