Patek discontinued it because they caught on it was becoming too popular. Patek is probably the best at managing their brand and perceived exclusivity. When other brands hit a home run they try to sell more of it. When Patek hits a home run they make a few runs then discontinue it to cultivate mystery, exclusivity, and hype around making it unobtainable. Patek is really good at this.
I thiink that the name Nautilus is one of key facts of sucess of this watch, and I am sure that it is the most "I have this watch so I am better than other people"-watch. That quote is taken from one U-tuber video about Cartier Tank.
Anyone could own one ? Yeah that’s how it was alwyas even nautilus was not popular and you can buy it in the shop .. just because you’ve just enter red the game doesn’t mean you know something …
But Patek hasn't discontinued the Nautilus, it only discontinued the SS model and the reason is obvious the RRP on the gold one is way higher than the SS , so Patek was getting a smaller portion of the profits made in the secondary market and they wanted to change that.

Non of this is true .. just bal bla stolen from other videos. Nautilus was discontinued because it was up to date. Terrible movement pinclocks and many other aspects ..
