They should have released this under beta or something, even if they never finished it. Give a warning about corrupting saves, or hide it behind a menu, just make it accessible because it's complete enough to be fun

I find it very interesting that split screen isn’t an option. Nowadays more and more homes have larger screens that would make split screen couch co-op even more enjoyable having more field of view per split. Back when my friends and I would play Halo 3 couch co-op on the weekends on small tube TVs we never complained. Hopefully split screen can be finished and enabled in a future update as it would be fun to now play with my kids.
It has to do with performance issue. Dual screen requires rendering twice the amount of object, and if devs want to maintain the same smoothness theyd have to run the game in lower settings, and to have better optimised games. Needless to say one makes the game ugly and other requires time and effort.

3 of my biggest asks for Infinite campaign are: 1-Open World Scarabs walking the map to take down, surrounded by a bunch of tanks and banshees and whatnot, maybe a few Banished captains as well? 2- Splitscreen 3- In co-op i wish the Marines would act like everyone is Chief. Since Launch i always wanted to take some big convoy of Marines in 4 big Razorbacks and drive around the map, give some of those classic halo vibes where you were rushing as part of a larger force.
I hear after Co-op split-screen beta get done, some people ask 343 fix marines ai because they only follow the host of the game not the second player and since that was the only news for split-screen before it’s getting cut out the campaign.

I am curious with how well this seems to work whether it was scrapped, either because something must be so incredibly bugged or why they can’t just have a few people working on this. Like even with the staff shortage sure they could spare like 5-10 people to work on it cause the only reason I can see why they wouldn’t is cause something must be incredibly wrong with it.

Me and my brothers had to use xcloud on our phones in order to play this and h5 together, which sucked. The input delay is really bad when streaming, so we took turns to try to even it out.

As someone who's played a good bit of split screen on this game, it kind of baffles me that it still pillarboxes the screen, the experience would be much better if hud and screen sizes were tailored better for the difference in splitscreen
I recently saw one of the trailers, the one with the marines and the animals and tbh, i am sad. They really promised a LOT and they didn't give any of that..
They literally lied to their consumers. Tons of people bought the game and a series x because 343 said that Infinite would have splitscreen on launch. Then, they said it would be later in the year. Then, they cancelled it completely. That one decision is why I will never trust them again.

Honestly I hated split screen. I love playing multiplayer and having my whole screen to myself. And it wasn't because of the screen-looking, it was because I had very little screen space to myself on those old 480p tv's lol. I will admit though, I still feel like they should have continued work on this just simply because more options is never bad, even if i'm personally not going to use them
my guess is that last 10% is based on hardware limitations and they cant code there way out of it.. and they tried.. and they cant say anything because it would come off like Series X is underpowered.

It's a bug that's been in the game since multiplayer co-op released. It's literally always been possible to do this using that bug, but 343 refuses to make it official.
