- This is the ultra rare recording of "You're The One" sung by Tom Sullivan & Helen Reddy, from the 1982 film "If You Could See What I Hear". The film, about the life of blind actor, singer, composer, and author Tom Sullivan (played i the film by "Beastmaster" star Marc Sionger), plays out in clips along with the song. This incredibly beautiful duet is probably one of the best songs you may (or may not), have never heard. Except for an ultra, ultra, ultra rare promo 45rpm single that never got officially released, the song remains totally obscure....until now! It's really a head scratcher as to why with all the talent involved here, that this song (especially considering the beloved Ms Helen Reddy sang it with Sullivan), did not get any play. The film although very popular with those of us who were around when the film came out, has yet to be released on DVD. Check out the 10 minute tribute of the film that is available on my channel.

The movie and the song are so under-rated! I'm in my late 50's and always was a big Helen Reddy fan...this song should have gotten serious air-time.....too bad because there is so much worthless songs out there now. A great movie, great cast....and a true story!
Helen’s voice is the sweetest and her singing technique is unique!
You're the one. You're the time. You're the rose and you are mine. All the things it takes to make me strong. You're the one who loves. You're the part. You're the place where I run if I'm chased. And the good I have comes off of you. You're the one who loves. You're the one....
What is it that I can say to you.. I haven't said before. Like I need you? And I want you so? I'll keep on telling you...
You're the heart. Youre the sun. Youre the light when it's dark. And if I should hide behind my words. Theres one thing you should know. I'm the one who loves you. You're the one.
I saw the film in the theater as well. Such a great story and motivation from Tom Sullivan's character (Marc Singer) kept this wonderful song in my head all these years!
This is awesome! I have the VHS of this movie and it took me a while to find it. I so wish that whoever has the rights to the film would let it be released on DVD!
I wish the studio would release this movie on dvd. I think it's the best piece of work marc singer has ever done.
Saw this 4 times at the theater on its original release. LOVED LOVED LOVED IT
I was 21 when I watched this movie and heard this song. I thought it was the most beautiful song I'd ever heard!
FOREVER in my top 5 songs of ALL Time!
Haven’t heard this I ages. It’s not on any of her albums. Great song, they sound awesome together. RIP Helen Reddy
I saw this movie when I was in my early teens and fell in love with this song. Throughout the years, I've hummed a few bars on memory. I always wondered if I'd ever hear this song again. Thank you for sharing this one.
This is a Beatiful duet! I remember the first time I heard it and instantly recognized Helen's beautiful vocals. Pure class😇

RIP HELEN REDDY
precious !
Beautiful song! I wish they would have had some pictures of Tom, the singer, in here. He's who the movie's after, anyway. I wish he would have played himself in it.
True, I remember this movie in the theater so many years ago. I think Tom should have had a least a guest appearance for He is an phenomenal singer. Maybe he did for I haven’t seen it in a long long time and it was sensational.😎🌅🎇💕🎆
"If You Can Se What I Hear" is one of those great movies that has, surprisingly, not been released to dvd and very hard to find on VHS. For it's rarity the VHS is very pricey online. www.amazon.com/dp/B0002XQWB6
I've never found it in print.
I'm looking for the lyrics for my girlfriend. Can anybody help me out. Thanks
I haven't heard this song in 25 years. yikes!
