In "one of the safest" countries in Europe where guns are ILLEGAL, the police don't even carry firearms:
My car was broken into with radio and phone stollen.
    I had gotten jumped.
My brother in law was shot to death in broad daylight.
A shoot out happened between "SWAT" and a drunk man.
Since being in the USA, I haven't had any issues...so far.

    • @Modjammit
      @Modjammit Рік тому +295

      Stolen*
And in that shootout, one "SWAT" officer was killed(shot through the front door)and so was the shooter. It would have happened to the police, but they don't carry firearms.
My brother in law was stalked overnight, followed to a store the next morning, while shopping his tire was slashed and he was shot while changing his tire on the side of the road. A witness picked him up and drove him 5 minutes to the nearest help where he died on scene. The shooter drove to a public park 45 minutes away and then shot himself. He illegally acquired the firearm by purchasing it from a farmer in a country where EVERYTHING down to slingshots are illegal.
Stabbings, on the other hand, are about a weekly occurrence there.
If someone REALLY wants to hurt you, they will.

Very sorry to hear about your loss. Horrible. I'm glad you've found freedom in my home country (and that you surely dont seem to be a parasite liberal - vote for those who destroy your country/state and then flee to Conservative areas and do the same.)
I'm a patriot American that unfortunately currently lives in England. For a bit longer.
It is illegal to carry anything on you for the purpose of self-defense.
Pepper spray is even totally illegal.
People have been arrested for defending themselves in their home by using a replica gun to subdue a criminal until police arrived. Or a mother alone and home with her kids at night showed a knife inside her own home to a group of men trying to break in to scare them away. She was arrested.
Some magistrates have suggested every knife have the point rounded off and at least one "Conservative" MP has said every knife should have a GPS tracker.
But, that's what you get when a couple thousand people are arrested each year due to online "hate speech" (aka having opinions which different from the radical Left).

Absolutely. Especially with regards to schools because parents are essentially compelled by law to send their kids there. If citizens are ordered to relinquish their children into the care of the state for 6 or 7 hours per day, the state should be liable whenever they fail to protect them.

Like most leftists, they read up on the emotions around a topic but rarely read the facts. So their foundation in any topic is very shaky because it's not built on solid ground. Doing vids like this may help some people break through their ignorance and realize that there is, in fact, a logical (not emotional) reason behind the 2A.

In America. Lets clarify that. In America.
Look overseas at the stats from countries with gun control or a lack of.
America fails to learn from other countries and continue to push their ideologies on every other country.

    • @meshackin
      @meshackin 8 місяців тому +3

@Cyb3rFck America keeping guns is because we learned from others mistakes. Deaths by gun per capita in America is nowhere near the highest of countries in the world, in fact we are only middle in the world and many countries that have banned guns have much higher per capita gun deaths. Also, we can't find any country that had banned guns where it helped them. They claim it lowered they're suicide by guns but the stats show suicide did not go down but instead change the method. Same with violent crimes and murder... To be fair we should compare violent crimes per capita not just gun crime per capita and then America is one of the safest in the world. In fact the areas of America that's proven to be the most dangerous are the areas that restrict guns to a level makes them useless for normal people. Many countries with higher rape per capita or higher armed crimes per capita or higher murder per capita claim they are better off because the crimes were not with guns.

This argument doesn't work anymore though. Of course I believe in the 2A but law enforcement force their way into homes all the time without probable cause and if you defend yourself. You are done for legally or with your life. So right now, us having guns as protection against the government is not the protection that is needed. We need protection from government protection corporations and profits over the rights and needs of the people.

We used to take our guns to school, had a gun rack in the rear window, had hunter safety courses and general firearms safety as a class and school shootings weren't even a thing. It's strange how the propensity for violence only rears its ugly head once the firearms are removed. This brings forth the truthfulness to the saying 'an armed society is a polite society'. @@Official_Baba_yaga ACTUALLY, I have a sign on my front door that shows a hand pointing a pistol and it says "Forget about the dog, Beware of the owner" so the logic is there, MOST, but not all, gun owners do not have any issues with people KNOWING that there are firearms in thier homes and ready to be used to defend themselves and their property, BUT I have never met, and probably never will find even as many as 1 single anti-gunner who is proud enough to post a sign somewhere on his/her property, any sort of sign that lets everyone know that there are no firearms on the property or in the residence, DO YOU know why they will never do that? because I do, by putting up such a sign lets any criminal element know that your place is a good spot to commit a crime, and why would any sane person do that? but then again, why would any sane person blame guns for gun deaths from bullet wounds? I am still trying to figure that one out, it is sort of like blaming a chain saw for cutting down trees or blaming a baseball bat for hitting a home run, it just does not make any sense to me, everyone knows that guns do not kill people, in the past 1,000 years, (which is about how long guns have existed,) not 1 time has a gun ever shot or killed anyone or anything. And you do not "ERECT" signs you just hang them or post them either on a tree, or a post, or a door.

So one day we were hanging out having a couple beers with the boys and I remembered I had an airsoft pistol in my truck. So I challenged him. He had a stick that we'd pretend was a knife or a baton or some sort of nonlethal weapon. The challenge was that he had to touch me before I could shoot him. 2. They fear what they do not understand and cannot accept not all violence is inherently evil.

I am happy you took my argument and ran with it more widely. The deeper point is that the National Guard is directly controlled by the President due to a Defense Authorization law from the 1980s which eliminated all state militias in direct contravention of the US Constitution. The states are supposed to have an independent military as a check and balance against too much Federal military power. See Federalist Papers.

Once they said fire I readjusted my hand on the grip and put them all center. I think I might have been the only recruit who had any gun training, benefit of growing up on a farm. Once I was put TAD into a MA unit for the last 15 years, I got to qualify with the M14, M16, M4, M9 and the M240. Even though re-qualifying every six months, and not having to pay for the ammo was always a fun weekend, the duty I did for the last eight years was the most Honorable, Respectful and rewarding of my whole career. China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century: 56 million. What you’re doing is wonderful, educating and training the public about gun and self-defense. I went from anti-gun to not anti-gun when I started to understand the value and the cost of freedom. I was naive to think that the government is always protecting its citizens in a civilized democratic peaceful western world. Not so anymore. Now I totally understand why civilians should have the right to bear arms if they choose to do so. We should respect our Constitution.
I’m just afraid to use one or have one at home. It’d take tremendous of self-control, especially when emotion runs wild. Besides, that’s one more item in the house with potential lethal accident to worry about. We did have a home robbery at gun point, but that didn’t prompt us to get a gun or training. We just beefed up our security system and be more aware of our surroundings.
I agree education and training should be more accessible. But then again, if I see so many training places popping up, I’d think we are preparing for a war, like in Israel where even women are carrying guns. My anxiety would go up even more I’m afraid.
Anyway, I’m all for freedom of choice.

They don't seem to grasp the fact that without the 2nd the rest become optional. FYI. I would have died laughing if John would have knocked the coffee cups out of the guys hands after his response.

Oh man, what would the US, which recently came out of a revolutionary war having leased many arms and ships from private peoples, enlisted many voluntary militia, and fought off an infinitely more armed/trained/funded tyrannical gov't would think?

They seem to be under the impression that the people 250 years ago had lesser weaponry to the government at the time or somehow didn't consider the concept of equal arms.

The left is beginning to not support the 1st either… they have begun to view their obedience to government power as virtue.

@@Blue-cq2hlIt's more simple than that. They know the musket fires slowly so they want people to have that instead of binary AR's that might be used to shred their kids. It's a mix of hopium, misinformation and concern about the future. They're more focused on what might be unsafe for their kids instead of civics and rights because the 2A really doesn't impact them (as non gun owners) except as a perceived public threat.
You end up with people too disinterested and militant to learn about 2A or appreciate it, and the politicians and the evening news only make the narrative they know more entrenched.

You can even do it when there is no fire. The problem arises when a reasonable person would believe it and can cause a panic.
Even the arguments about hate speech fall into this. That kind of speech can be limited based on the harm it directly causes. Making racist comments is about different from inciting or advocating for racist violence. We can see it in a liberal direction with that school protest against the female swimmer. The college's dean even praised the students for their peaceful protest. Meanwhile, they filmed themselves chasing and beating this woman through the halls, and then the police had to sequester her in an adjacent room for three hours because the crowd wouldn't let her leave. These people viewed their physical violence as free speech since they consider it the consequences of the young woman's hate speech. Which goes back to the point of who decides what's hate speech. The dean decided the group's actions weren't hate speech, and she faced backlash for condoning a mob.

      Speech should never be limited.
Consensus does not always equal correct.
Just look at when just one man believed the world was round vs everyone else; just one man believed the earth revolved around the sun, and he was correct.

It’s a misquote. It’s to “falsely” yell fire in a crowded theater. If there is a fire, you should yell fire.
