- This video is of an amazing day of bull trout fishing with my friend Frank on a west central Foothill’s river near my home in Hinton Alberta. It was a stunning fall day with temperatures in the low 20s (C), not a cloud in the sky, and no wind. And the fishing was spectacular.

Hey Aaron, another well done video. I haven't ever targeted bull trout nor have I fished much in the foothills. Would definitely be something I should try some day. Fly fishing in general is on my to-do list. Wonderful video buddy!
Thanks! I appreciate the kind comments. Once you start getting some success at fly fishing, its pretty tough to go back to spin casting. It's so much fun. But it's an expensive hobby, especially when you start tying your own flies 🙂 (and you will)...

Awesome video Aaron! I am local to Alberta (born and raised). Can you tell me if this river is north or south of the Yellowhead? The reason I ask is, I bought a watermaster Kodiak inflatable raft and would love to float a smaller river (without too much shallow water walking). I am fairly inexperienced at river floating, so floating big rivers are a little scary to me. I had been dreaming about the lower section of the Blackstone, but watched your video and realised how skinny the water gets (too much walking the boat). Anyway, thanks for taking the time to film these videos. New subscriber here!

It doesn’t have a brand name. We bought six of them directly from the manufacturer in China. Got a good deal that way. This is same manufacturer that makes the Kokipelli rafts.

@@flyfish-bowhunt-alberta I live in Camrose south of Edmonton. Make day trips out there lots in aug to end of sept. Camp in cadomin and quad one or two trips in the spring
Nice! We're working right now with the GoA on a huge upgrade and relocation of the quad trail that goes up MacKenzie Creek. I look after the rec program for the company i work for (West Fraser), so manage 20 campgrounds and 8 trail systems all around Hinton down to Chunga Creek. 🙂
