Nice vid ! I used to do a lot of backcountry fly fishing myself. It's definitely nice to get out of the city do some hiking and climbing to find good pool. I missed those days. I now just fish 98% on the Bow River. 20mins away from home, and I don't beat up my truck.. or myself.
We sadly didn’t get to fish the bow at all while we were up. I did spend a day solo on the little elbow river right outside of town! Beautiful little stream
I enjoyed the whole 7:45 mins watching your video! We were on the same spot yesterday but the water was low so not too much bull trout but we saw one big one hiding on the hole in the middle part of the falls.
That is dry fly country with bull trout bonus. Fish most of those places every summer. A couple years ago caught a 28 inch bull with a muskrat in his throat back legs and tail sticking out of his mouth. lol
Pulling out big bullies from the falls at 3:06 was worth it after walking through those fields of stinging nettle eh? One of my favorite spots. You can see the bullies from the top of the canyon in those pools sometimes.
Mostly what worked for us was to fish the whitewater at the very front of holes, tight in behind rocks, and in the plunge area below a falls. Usually the closer we’d cast to the rocks, the better the results! Be patient with them! Try a variety of retrieval speeds and flies until you find what works for you
Fishing for bulls gets better near the national parks in terms of numbers, the larger rivers off the eastern slopes produce some monsters but low numbers
Thank you for the kind words! I don’t know enough about the area to know if we were near there or not. We flew into Calgary and finished south of the city a couple of hours. It is incredible up there and I hope to visit again once the borders are open
We were just looking for deeper pools separated by very quick moving plunging falls and riffles. That gradient was found in the canyon section of the rivers. Are you asking because you’re going to try and catch some bulls?
Dang that one bull trout in that fast water was an absolute MONSTER😨
This video is amazing!!!!! I hope you will start doing these more!
Love it!!!! this vid is what fishing is about. get some friends explore and triumph!!! awesome job
Thanks for the vid. We just started a kayak fishing channel in Alberta. Appreciate seeing some more of our area. Subscribed!

Awesome video! Would be cool to see an edit like this fishing your local waters for smallies/trout.
awesome video and great catches!
Hope you guys enjoyed our beautiful landscape and pristine waters. You eventually got on some nice trout. Nice releases
Damn those waterfall spots are bad ass! I haven't been able to find any water like that and I've spent a bit of time down south!
So good, happy to see you in this neck of the woods. Looks like you did well
Thanks buddy! I loved it up there. Hoping to come back soon. I miss the land and those bullies
Great video !!!! you did better than some locals

Holy shit! 😳
Looked like walking "100 miles" was well worth it! Epic trip...how long were you guys there?
We did eight days total. It was incredible! Took about a week to figure it out
Pulling out big bullies from the falls at 3:06 was worth it after walking through those fields of stinging nettle eh? One of my favorite spots. You can see the bullies from the top of the canyon in those pools sometimes.
Definitely worth the walk! Such a cool little section of river! Some nice cutthroat in the mix there also!
Where’s this river in AB ?
Hey guys, great video! Where were some of your favourite spots in Alberta?
We loved the upper oldman river! It was very refreshed to see fish that act like fish
Oldman is fantastic!
I hope you gave the hopper droppers a try on the cutties!
Amazing video I'm going through jasper Alberta any tips for guy ?

Killer footage!
Great footage , where ya from?
Arkansas and New York. Alberta was a blast!
I have just gotten into fly fishing and am from alberta and was wondering if you could send me a private message of where this amazing place is.
Let me know when you're in the province again...i have some honey holes!
Let me know if you're in Calgary, Alberta... ill show you where bullies are.. nice video.
Where you find bullies in yyc?
were you fishing sheep creek
Watch out for the horned bulls
There's some pools I frequent where you will catch a bull and it will get chased and attacked by another bull as you're bringing it in!
Wicked video!! What rivers were you on?
we fished the Oldman, sheep and the highwood mostly. a lot of smaller creeks when we could
DrewLR Shhhhhhh
I know man. I’m sorry! We seriously just googled where to fish
Named the most popular bull streams in the province. Lol not a big deal
Great vid fellas. You’re basically in my back yard...Fished ALOT of that water.
fucking badass
What part of Alberta is this?
We were all over southern alberta. A bunch of different rivers but all in the south
Was any of this shot in the Nordeg area? Also this is a really good channel I just found it and I'm loving it been binge watching all of your videos.
Thank you for the kind words! I don’t know enough about the area to know if we were near there or not. We flew into Calgary and finished south of the city a couple of hours. It is incredible up there and I hope to visit again once the borders are open
And then we found um 🏴☠️
Looks like a great time. Well, except tearing yourself up a bit. It didn't look like the fish were big fighters.
They weren’t really. They mostly just hit hard, dive, and let the current do their dirty work
Define canyon water?
Pretty badass fishing trip 😍

DrewLR yeah possibly, I’m headed up to Alaska next week and have the chance to get into some along with the salmon etc.
Awesome! If you are driving and passing through Alberta area I can give you info on spots
DrewLR I’ll be flying straight to Alaska, but if I’m ever up there I’ll definitely take you up on that offer!
what river
Frenchman's
Say no to coal to save these places! Make your voice heard while you can.
What a fucking shame they are proposing coal mines in those headwaters...all that prime native trout water down the drain
The outcry stopped the mines.
you dont think the carp is worse
