My brother gave me one of these for Christmas yesterday. I love it! I'm so impressed with the feel of quality Craftmanship that it has. I can't stop fiddling with it, lol. It will make me feel more comfortable as I motorcycle commute knowing that I have a few tools always at the ready.
Just bought myself one of this, personalized at Leatherman website. Amazing multitool. My first Leatherman was a coyote Rebar, then rhe Skeletool kbx and the Skeletool Topo. They all look amazing. You forgot to mention the hammer and the two box wrenches!
That's near Portland, where Leatherman is based. Dave Ulmer was the first person to practice geocaching, and did so at those coordinates. Also 420 is a stainless steel.....and not the best ...maybe needs a nail clipper too😅😅😅😅
I’ve used so many multitools like the Wave and the new Free P4, but I always come back to the Signal because of its survivalist aspect. The Leatherman Signal is a true survival multitool for both urban and outdoor situations. 🤘🏽
I can tell you I find it hard to live without my leatherman. I used it almost daily here in Australia. Mostly pliers screwdrivers and saw. All the best. 👍
I just got my signal today, I have the surge but wanted something different for backcountry canoe tripping. I can’t wait to take the signal on a trip with me.
Bought this as a fatwood gathering and lighting device all in one. The sharpener is a nice addition as is the can opener. Yes the ferro rod is tiny, but it isn't for many uses. This is solely a survival tool for me. I built a cabin deep in the woods and I hunt a lot, so seemed like a no brainer really. I went with "Guava" kind of a pinky orange. It isn't a fashion show, it is just the brightest colour they have. If you've ever misplaced your knife in the woods, hakfway through gutting a bear, on a hot spring day... and couldn't find it stuck in a log 10 feet away from you for a half an hour while you panick about flies on your kill... you'll never buy a low-viz knife ever again 😂
Got a fracture all the way through the metal at the thumb opener for knife blade. Sent it back but this is the second time I’ve had a leather man fail in the past ten years. First time an awl snapped in half on a Juice and this time don’t know what happen to this signal cause I’ve not used it hard at all. Sent it back for warranty but I believe Leatherman’s heat treat is going down hill. I still use them but each time I have a failure I lose a little trust in the company.
I don't like that I can't close the tool to get good leverage when using the bit driver. I wonder if I'm the only one who finds that annoying with the Signal. That's my only gripe right now.
Got a wave + but can’t use it on my belt as such because it’s not uk legal and don’t need the potential hassle of caught in my possession.stays in my bag till needed 😟
Have one and really love it! Just think it would be great if they could have some tweezers (you know, to remove splinters... you mention you used the pliers?!? They had to be sticking out a lot, no?)... Thinking about modding some and try to store them inside the whistle...
Tweezers would be super handy on the Signal and modifying the whistle to store some sounds like it could work pretty well! You'll have to let me know how you get on Jose! Thanks for your comment sir!
Great video as always. I recently bought my first ever Leatherman but went for the Bond as I live in the UK. I’m intrigued by the ferro rod, do you think it would be possible to replace when it gets too small, do Leatherman do a replacement if you lose it? I personally would like to see Leatherman make a molle attachment so you can strap it to the outside of a rucksack. Keep up your videos they are a joy to watch, entertaining and informative.
They do indeed sell replacement ferro rods/ whistles, if I remember correctly they sell for around £7/£8. A molle attachment would be nice! Thanks for your comment sir, very much appreciated 👍
When one end of the ferro rod wears down, I heard a guy say, "You take the whistle apart in half & flip the ferro rod around. Use any standard pistol mag case with molle for carrying. You can get a double one to carry a flashlight along with the tool.
@@williamyoung369 thank you I will have a look at one of these. I’m thinking I just want the single one but will now have to consider if the double would be better for me
Hi buddy! I have a question about hungarian zeltbahn. Im hesitating between hungarian Shelter and Bundeswehr german poncho tent, dis u have the occasion to compared them??
I am no lawyer but as the blade locks I will say no mate you will have to have a very good reason so carry in public under UK law, ok you will have to find a very “snotty copper” to nick you for it but if there looking for a reason you just handed them one on a plate. How do I know this you ask? ….Because I looked into the UK knife law for the very reason above.
The screwdriver is not that good to use because you can’t close the pliers while it out and if its open the other “handle” keeps flying around and making it harder to tighten/loosen anything. That’s the only downside I see so far when using it for a couple of years.
Wish they’d offer a version with a full straight edge instead of partial serration. Also wish they had options to replace the tiny ferro/whistle combo with something else. I find those to be gimmicky rather than useful.
Hey brother! It's a little embarrassing really, I had a little incident with a lighter and singed the beard pretty bad 😂 now the very long process of the grow back! 👊
@@ManDogWild ouch just about to watch your 3 night camp Keep up the fantastic work mate hope the family are all good .when you getting your brothers back out . The beard will soon come back 🤘☠️🤘

@@ManDogWild Merry Christmas and Happy new year! Thank you for the lovely content and all your hard work. ☺️🎄🌌🎉
I recently bought one and love it. I never really loved the price on Leatherman. But I love the quality and the functionality

It's roughly Mt. Hood national forest
Great review. Got mine today. First Leatherman. Hopefully it will serve me for many years because it wasn't cheap up here in Sweden 😂.

@@ManDogWild I just recently bought a carbide glass breaker bit for my Signal that will allow this multitool to function as a rescue tool.
Where did you get the carbide breaker?
@@petertensuda1192 Leatherman website under accessories.

That is snazzy with the shapener and ferro rod! The attachments on mine are just screwdriver bits... not so useful in the woods.
I really don't wear a belt that often, so I am really happy using the built-in pocket clip. Great information about a very capable multi tool 🔧
When I was in the Signal Corps we used Gerber still use mine over 25 years old. Good multi tools are definitely useful. Have fun stay safe.

How well does the awl work as a reamer? I don't think I saw the scooping edge like you see on the victorinox awls.

I feel your pain Steve! It's a ridiculous law, like it prevents these people from going in their mums kitchen and grabbing a knife. Crazy!
Not a bad shout, nice one,!

i had it, have to say, better get a wave, sharpener and firesteel is redundant , rather pack a good sharpener and firesteel.

Hey Allium! Personally I would opt for the German Poncho Tent, less finicky to set up and more room inside 👍
@@ManDogWild yeah, and more possibilities to create new shelters. thank you for your answer! greetings from france!
Tjose coordinates are near poland where the creator went to Geocaching for the first time i Guess Or something like that.
Did the Coyote tan version rusts? In the picture you show it seems it got rusty!
Hey my friend, the rust was my fault, it got introduced to a bit of salt water and I didn't clean it up soon enough 👍
NICE KNIFE. IS IT LEGAL TO CARRY IN UK?

It's a shame you have no rights in the UK.
Wonder why LM provides a sheath for this MT when you already have carabiner and clip features on it 🤔
Because at that price….it would be crappy not to 😮
