Thank you for your video. Regarding 0:40, the chemical formula for Potassium Cyanide is KCN. Caution must be used whenever handling cyanide, because cyanide could be fatally poisonous if it is ingested, inhaled or absorbed through bare skin. Regarding 2:25, combining 1 part nitric acid + 3 parts hydrochloric acid produces nitrohydrochloric acid, which is also known as Aqua Regia. Regarding 7:43 gold electroplating solution, if pure gold is used on the anode instead of stainless steel, then the gold electroplating solution will last much longer. This is because the gold cations in the electroplating solution will not become depleted since they will be replenished from the gold anode.
Is potassium cyanide mandatory for the proper functioning of the plating? Is it possible to replace it with another chemical element that is easier to find?

Some say the best is to have chrome. On Amazon they sell gold electrolyte that is supposedly abrasion resistant. How is this achieved? Abrasion-resistant gold plating?
@RahulPatel-kk1ci if you don't use nickel, the silver will tarnish under it and slowly discolor the gold. Most gold plated things are a very thin coating of gold. You can however go thicker to say 2.5 microns and it's a much better protection but also significantly more costly to do. Often they will use rhodium as a base layer over silver if they don't use nickel

it can be used untill there is no gold left in solution, it will probably slow down on lower concentrations. if you put in 1 gram of gold into your solution you will very likely get 0.99 grams back. how much you use per jewel depends on how strong the electricty is you use, the surface area and the time you plate it for.

For the addition of other metals besides gold, of course you can't sir, this method is only for 99% pure gold which is dissolved, the environment mixed with other metals such as alloys will certainly damage the solution, but if you want to make the coating more durable you can use a nickel solution whose video I will for coming 🙏

For 1 grams of gold you need about 6 ml of HCL and 2 ml of HNO3

When you did the gold plated bit can you use a gold plated strip instead of a stainless steal one to get the same effect
