Wow, this venue killed a person, and injured a thousand others with 2nd degree burns and severe dehydration, and they blocked off the emergency exits! What kind of psychopath is running that venue?
Taylor’s team should at minimum sue the venue for risking her reputation. Having only just heard about this.. surely there should be someone on the Taylor team that is checking the conditions and doing OH&S checks? As an Australia OH&S checks are everyone’s responsibility… but certainly there’s a communication breakdown between Taylor’s team and the venue.
Even stadium was stopping the Taylor's bodyguard to distribute water bottles. Taylor's own team was doing so much but the stadium's staff was so brutally rude
I recognized it because I have a fainting condition and I do theatre and choir and this is what I do! I felt very worried about her after seeing that clip
Jeez! I would've gotten a nasty sunburn or even died! I thought temperatures in Maine are bad in the summer but apparently they are just a picnic compared to the temperatures in Brazil!
Can’t believe they closed the vents so no one could see in. That is so callous, not to mention blocking the emergency exits. That’s a violation and surprised Brazil didn’t fine T4Fun.
Exactly! But nobody is willing to call Taylor out for that and the girl who died because of this heat.. I don't see that much empathy for her as for Taylor is given here. A girl died because Taylor and her team didn't make the right precautions to prevent someone dying! It shouldn't be a privilege to come out of a concert alive! I want people to give her the same energy we gave Travis Scott for Astroworld. People should put away their favoritism and look and the facts. I mean for crying out loud a girl died because of her! Why is mo one calling her out the way they called out Travis for Astroworld! This is crazy to me.
@@loripatterson7882 Maybe not closed gates. But look at Travis Scott's Astroworld incident. Which was literally satanic and seemingly he offered his fans as a sacrifice. Official reports say "10" people died, but attendees saw so much more people fainted lying on the floor unresponsive for a long time. So maybe not the closed gates, but she still is American no? And Astroworld happened in America too, no closed gates needed.
@@letstrythis4624it’s not Taylor’s ‘’people’’ when one comes to preform a concert, sporting event or any other kind of event it is not their responsibility! It is the arena their having event @ responsibility! The security outside & inside. Also any vendors that they have during events r thru the arena. They get pd a hefty amount of $ to have Taylor swift play @ their arena. & their the ones who r responsible for all that goes on inside & out of their arena! Not Taylor’s or any other performer! They come w their own security. So whatever was done or not done is on them! She postponed one of her days bcuz of the heat. She did what she could do! If u saw the video Taylor herself was having a hard x breathing! & her hair was soaking wet! To close vents were irresponsible for sure & idk if there was ample amount of water available or not! But bfor someone comes to any arena w that amount of people the ones in charge need to make sure all is taken care of & any situation that could occur, all needs should b ready for!! Whomever was in charge & closed them vents r responsible for whatever damage had happened that nite & should b given consequences accordingly! It’s really inexcusable that someone had to die per vents being closed due to overheating!!
Let me add fuel… I’m a Brazilian Swiftie who bought tickets with T4F to attend the Lover Fest that was cancelled due to the pandemic. At the time, when the concert was cancelled, they REFUSED to return the money we had paid for the tickets. They gave us “credit” so we could attend other concerts of theirs in a years time… DURING A PANDEMIC!! Thankfully Taylor decided to bring the eras tour here and we recovered that credit, but otherwise they would’ve kept our money. Don’t forget we’re a relatively poor country and tickets to this concert adds up to a monthly minimum wage… so… that’s greed for you
SHE MOST CERTAINLY COULD DO SOMETHING - STOP THE SHOW BECAUSE OF THE HEAT, AS HER FANS COULD GET SICK - ONE DIED BECAUSE OF THE HEAT AND NO ATER TO DRINK. BRAZIL IS ONE OF THE WORST PLACES FOR ANIMAL FACTORY FARMS WHERE THE ANIMALS LIVE IN FEAR, FRIGHT, SCARED, AND NO LIFE AT ALL JUST SO HUMANS CAN EAT THEM AFTER THEY GO THROUGH THE FRIGHTENING SLAUGHTERING. TAYLOR DIDN'T STOP THE SHOW AND GIVE THE FANS THEIR MONEY BACK, NOR HAS SHE OR ANY OTHER HUMAN STOP EATING MEAT SO ANIMALS COULD LIVE A HAPPY LIFE - YOU DO. WHAT A HORRIBLE WORLD. I SUGGEST PUTTING THE ANIMALS OUTDOORS TO FORAGE AND HAVE A LIFE AND WHEN WEATHER IS BAD ROUND THEM UP TO ENTER CLEAN BARNS. A WHOLE LOT CHEAPER AND PEOPLE WILL EAT LESS MEAT AND BE HEALTHIER AND HAPPIER. THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE IN THE WORLD AND TOO MANY ANIMALS SUFFERING BECAUSE OF CRUEL HUMANS. SOME GOOD HAS TO COME OR WE ALL WILL SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES PRETTY SOON.
@@darlingsapphire1non of that was Taylor’s fault it was on the security there was really nothing she could do and if she did stop the concert it would disappoint the fans and would waste their money and time. Plus Taylor has nothing to do with what Brazil does or has done.
@@darlingsapphire1 many artist have done this before. if it gets dangerous stop the show and wait until the fans stop & calm down. continue when everything is ok again. Unfortunately, TSwift's brainless-deranged-fans can't get the idea that in concerts, the major artist - the biggest star - can control and demand anything and everything because its their concert and they call the shots. But she's sweet and thoughtful cause she threw a bottle of water . How humanitarian of her, I'm in literal tears.
So, I'm Brazilian and let's talk about the victim... Ana Clara Benevides was from other state, not Rio, so the family was trying to get her b0dy back and the organization (T4F) did absolutely NOTHING to help, and this kind of stuff it's expensive. They only offered psychological treament for the parents. Again, THE FANS did a crowdfunding campaign in order to help the parents get their daughter back for a burial, and they got enough money because of the fans. Other things to add: - Her name was never mentioned in all 3 shows in Rio. - Taylor posted a letter saying she was not gonna talk about her because of the grief... - Fans did organized a tribute to Ana Clara Benevides during the last show in Rio, after a song (champagne problems) that it has a little pause (according to what the fans said) so they would use this time to do the tribute, but when the song was over coincidentally was rushed, didn't ocurred the pause as usual and they couldn't make it the tribute. It was like her team kept an eye and knew what the fans were preparing... - In Brazil, a movement began to implement the law Ana Clara Benevides "(...)law which provides for the mandatory provision of free drinking water and adequate structure at festivals, shows and events with gathering people" Note: Not saying AT ALL was Taylor fault, but idk, It looked like they pretended nothing happened wich is such a freaking cold thing to do.
The intentional rushing past the tribute was what really got to me. It was so unnecessary. How would that have hurt Taylor to let them pay their respects to a young woman whose life was cut short over straight up greed? That is evil to me, and the fans who can defend that really need to do some soul searching and develop a sense of humanity. I wouldn't mind Taylor if she was actually held accountable for stuff (dating a racist just a few months ago, her excessive private jet usage, being callous toward a fan who DIED at HER show that SHE refused to end, lying about reaching out to the family, burying the story of said fan with puff pieces about her PR relationship, rereleasing a billion copies of the same albums because her fans are senseless enough to buy them all, not putting an end to unethical ticketing like other artists have, weaponizing her fan base to harass an actress for a line that some writer came up with, etc.) She deserves a bunch of snakes in her comments again. Actually forget snakes. She needs to be spammed with skulls to remind her of the gravity of what took place at her show. Her delusional fans have basically deified her, and it's disgusting.
What about criminal charges against the venue organizer? They deliberately did the things that killed that girl, and led hundreds of other people to the hospital
@@bryanna4548people need to learn that Taylor swift does not care about them. Sad that a young woman lost her life and sounds like no one in Taylor’s camp truly cared.
she did dedicate a song for Ana and was seen spending time with her family (there’s pictures) I don’t think her team allowed her to speak too much about it though she absolutely would if she could, because she’s written Ronan so we know she cares, but ig some people in her team didn’t want her to speak on it
@@bryanna4548she knows the gravity of the situation, people will attack her no matter what, if she had spoken about it and said her name and everything, people would claim she’s using it for “sympathy” because she literally can’t win no matter what. she sang a song for all fans who passed away, she cares deeply for her fans and this is proven by her past actions. she wrote a song for a little boy who died of cancer, but she’s not some miracle worker that can fix all issues
This was one of the most bizarre things I've seen lately... the organizers don't have a shred of humanity, water is not a luxury, water is the right of all living beings
This is why whenever ANY venue tells me no outside drinks I fight it and pull out my health issues. Even if you do not have health issues or medication that require it, FIGHT it. I refuse now and always get allowed to take them in.
Humans quickly die without water. We ALL have a medical condition that requires water-being human! I’m chronically ill & usually mad when people lie about having disabilities, but I am in full support of people saying they have a medical condition that requires they carry water with them. Water access is a human right.
I'm late to all of this but anyway- Outside drinks are a problem tho. They have no way of checking what's in your bottle. For all they know you could be bringing alcohol with you and distributing it to minors, or even acid for an attack. Outside drinks should not be allowed to events like these. But they should have free water for everyone! I personally even think there should be a law for that.
@@KIxYOSHI2077 That is a fair point, and if it was guaranteed that there would be free access to safe water in a venue (without massive lines for drinking fountains, having to go up/down stairs to access it, or risk illness from unclean water), I’d have no problem filling an empty water bottle inside, but until I can count on that, I’m not going to risk my life because they don’t want someone smuggling vodka in AND don’t want to provide free access to safe water. In the meantime, they’re welcome to sniff my water, though 🤷♀️
@@KIxYOSHI2077 You're right, because someone planning to do something illegal or villainous certainly wouldn't take any steps to smuggle things past the gate. It's well known that if you ask a criminal if they have something can't have or are going to do something bad they have to stop. I get it, keeping people safe is a priority, but this kind of fearmongering security theatre doesn't actually have any effect, other than enabling greedy ass companies to force you to pay exorbitant prices on things. I'd be willing to put good money on the fact that I could go to pretty much any concert and score booze and/or narcotics that were smuggled in. Look at the stats on the TSA, how much they actually help security at an airport, it's shockingly low. My partner was in the TSA for awhile, and for a year she was on the team that goes to airports with faux contraband to test their teams. The chance that she'd get flagged the first time were embarrassingly small. One airport she went through FIVE TIMES before being flagged, and she only got caught because she and the team lead at that airport knew each other and knew she was on that team! Even then the team lead had to watch their TSOs pass her through checkpoint before stepping in. I remember a day when venues would let you in with your own beverages, and they had to contend with those same "fears" back in the day. The compromise? Sealed containers only. Seemed to work just fine back then, there was no epidemic of underage alcoholism or mass acid splashings. Evil people will do evil things, and aren't going to abide by rules and laws, but that doesn't mean we should make the lives of average citizens worse under the guise of protecting them.
@@letstrythis4624you blame the wrong person, buddy. What happened behind the scene (backstage) are more complicated than "main stars can do what whatever they want". Main stars are puppet on strings, not the puppeteer themselves.
TO EVERYONE WHO IS SAYING TAYLOR DIDNT CARE ABOUT HER FANS: THEY DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH WATER TO CARRY OUT A WHOLE FREAKING 100,000+ CROWD OF PEOPLE! She didn’t know that the stupid venue would ban any drinks from them and sell the tiny waters for overpriced prices! The venue is to blame, and that’s final. They did NOTHING to help the people. The fact that Taylor and her team had to hand out waters when the actual place should be doing that is SICKENING!
The worse is that the responsible probably could care less, if they don't care about the artist having to do breath exercises on stage to avoid fainting they won't care about a random person dying. Seriously I hope Taylor sued them, she is there to perform not suffocate and then learn that a fan died and having to live with it now.
Oh jesus I almost died at an overcrowded convention I was vending at because they locked the only accessible exit, I got pushed against the door, fell, and stepped on. I got lucky I was spotted by a security guy who knew me and that I was disabled. He took me to the celebrity area to hide out until he could escort me back to my booth. After Astroworld I'm never going to a concert unless it's Britney Spears. Event organizers are some of the most braindead people I have ever met.
honestly, this is why i don't go to super large shows anymore. anything over 10k? absolutely not. and even then, i won't be near that many people unless it's a metal show. Metal shows are the ONLY ones i feel comfortable being on the general admission floor for, because it's just ingrained in the culture that if someone falls down, you pick them back up. you'll see people sharing and passing around water bottles in the mosh pit all the time, (doing that thing where they pour it into their mouth from above so no one actually touches the bottle with their mouth), venue staff is usually really good about passing out water a TON (cuz people need it when they're crowd surfing and moshing like crazy), and people are generally really good to each other and look out for each other. but for any show that's not a metal gig? nope, i'm getting a seat, cuz i don't trust other people to be cool.
She's a Professional, and the show must go on. I'm sure she'll change how things are done after this experience. She'll never let this happen again if she can.
Most entertainers have air ans/air conditioning blowing up at them from the stage were they perform. Some smaller venues don’t have the revenue that rich performers have to provide extra added safety measures for themselves, and have to miserably perform under hot weather conditions while almost hyperventilating/dehydrating!
@@VRIceblast Hi. "She'll never let this happen again if she can". Do you know her personally? "If she can". What if she "can't" like this time around? What if someone dies again at her damn concert? What if this someone is YOU? Please wake uo, stop idolizing these dirty, heartless witches!
A young lady died ana stopped breathing can’t get dressed can’t dance can’t chase around a dude has no life ahead of her. Left her parents without her. But poor Taylor can. The mature Taylor should have stopped the show. The immature and greedy Taylor chose not to.
As someone who was in management for a few years & had to make sure my employees were taken care during blazing summer days and just in general, this REALLY freaking gross from the venue management & safety team, and anyone else responsible. Absolutely repulsive and disgraceful. Every single person responsible should feel directly responsible for all those deaths that happened because of their actions. Or lack of, to be more accurate.
Exactly. It’s doesn’t take a single person to have experience in this and can clearly see it’s all a cash grab on their part. Alright dollar before lives. They’re even portraying Taylor as a r*cist in the media claiming all of these accounts are false and exaggerated and she was looking for an excuse to get out of their bc she “hates” their people. It’s insane.
I dont even know how concerts are in other parts of the world, but here in Brazil I've been going to concerts ever since I was 12 years old (I'm 27 now)... people ALWAYS faint! yes we've been having a terrible heatwave but Brazil is hot most of the time, not just during the summer or spring, and this didn't happen because of the heatwave. even at a normal temperature for us, a concert gets unbearibly hot. i've seen people faint in literally every show in a stadium i've been to. concert goers have been complaining about this monstruous rule of no water bottles allowed for decades, but a young girl had to die in a big pop star show for anyone to start caring about this. she's not the first person to die in a concert because of heat and no water, just the first to become international news !!! now politicians stepped in and ruled that people can get in with their own water and venues need to provide free water. the whole thing is just sick.. other types of events like raves have had free water since for ever, but huge companies that literally bring the world's biggest pop stars to brazil will save money every way they can.
That’s exactly why this disgusts me. I’m in Texas and the temperatures and climate is very much the same. That’s how it’s always been here for years and for most of the year. We don’t have seasons. We have extremely hot and humid and then freezing and wet. There’s no in between. It’s always the two extremes. But our concerts have always had free water placed everywhere that’s constantly full and people still faint and get dehydrated. Even with the dozen of medic tents and endless help, it happens. But this is insane. The greed of the company is obvious and this should have had a death or 2nd degree burns. And the blocked exits?! What have you heard about the gangs waiting outside the venues? Are they called arratas? Or am I spelling that completely wrong? Apologies😢
@@ReeCrowsFray Right! So, you mean arrastão. it's not what a gang's called, it's what we call a mass robbery. It's pretty common in rio, I have no idea if they were waiting outside the venue.. but maybe. The illegal blocking of exits was a desperate attempt to exclude informal vendors and invaders, cause people find a way to get in. This is all just so sad every way you look at it.
I went to a Dreamcatcher concert this past summer. The venue did not allow outside drinks inside. But you can bring an empty water bottle and fill your bottle with water for free. That’s not hard to implement
I like how Disney and Universal Studios did things. Buy a cup with a chip, then you're allowed to fill it at kiosks that recognize the chip for the rest of your visit without further charges and you get a keepsake... I still have our Universal studios cups, they're good quality.
This is why no matter who it is I ain't going to big concerts anymore. Doesn't matter how much tayor or anyone does if the organization doesn't pull through people can die. This has been proven time and time again.
Exactly, better safe than sorry! No artist on earth is worth dying for! Sadly, too many people place entertainment/pleasures/hedonistic lifestyles above common sense/safety/life, even above God the creator of life!
for real! i love taylor but i wont go to the concert because i know someday this thing could happen again and im so glad she made the tour into a movie so i can watch it at home safely
That's amazing of Taylor to do but how disgusting of the venue and the people who made those decisions I hope the venue is sued by everyone hurt and the family of the woman who lost her life.
That may be in a first world country but in Brasil it’s different, I’m not from Brasil but from Latin America and we’ve heard all kind of things from Brasil, the owners pay the government

Yeah, I went to the show in Bonn in Germany during one of the hottest days of the year and they handed out free water bottles there as well. Not everyone could get one from the workers, but a lot of people also showed solidarity and passed the bottles around to people who couldn‘t easily obtain them. Some very kind souls passed me a bottle after I asked for one because I also had my period that day. Probably saved me from passing out ngl
I am a huge swiftie and let me just say this news broke me this whole things was so devistating with Taylor having to throw water off stage to the fans durning the songs is just fucking insane and she was not able to breath at one point and the death of Ana I’m so glad that there’s water tanks and free water bottles and huge fans now
I was not there, but am Brazilian. The medical staff were also treating many women with signs of dehydration and heat exhaustion as cases of hysteria, and giving them medicine for anxiety
What if I told y'all that Rio learned nothing and somebody else (young man this time) died because the venue (fully made of metal) failed to prepare for a lightning storm and then also failed to evacuate properly during the Wannabe Tour (a festival for us, the emos) and the guy got electrocuted? I went to the festival in São Paulo, we had our share of issues, specially related to food and water (it was a 12 hour festival and by the 5th or 6th hour mark both were almost completely gone and they did not have enough for everybody. Simple Plan themselves had to help during their performance), but still
And it is so sad and so frustrating. We love to go to concerts around here, and international artists, that we don't get to see often, get completely sold out so easily, as was the Wannabe Tour, The Eras tour, Bruno Mars and Coldplay added a ton of new dates and they keep selling out... but the organizers keep treating us as pure garbage
@@AnaGarcia-xb7qe this is actually horrific. The greed makes me sick to my stomach, what the actual fuck is wrong with the event planners for these concerts??
The Feb 2023 Harry Styles concert in Melbourne Australia was 36C/ 98F. Officials had banned any fans from camping / queuing prior to 9:00am for the 6:00 show, moved the fans that did queue after 9:00M into a nearby undercover venue, handed out water and provided sunscreen. The Merchandise Store opened early to allow purchase of t-shirts, hats etc. Everyone was happy, healthy and had a lot of fun together! 🎉 Thank you to the organisers of that show. 🇦🇺
I was there, i flew from NY to Brazil and the flight was awful. i knew something was going to happen i just knew. when we got to the venue in was insanely hot, there we’re fans, passing out, getting sick it was awful. when Taylor came on i just couldn’t imagine how hot she was with the extra lighting the heavy outfits just insane.
Not only the attendees she almost fainted herself. She was literally standing there on stage, shoulders back, back straight, looking up to try and get as much air as possible so she DIDNT faint on stage.
I went to a Lana Del Rey concert this summer and we weren’t allowed to bring in our water. It was super hot out and so many people were passing out around me. Water was expensive once you were inside and it was cash only…
I don't know how common it is but the arena I work at in Canada doesn't allow drinks but you can take an empty bottle. We have filtered water stations around the arena and you just fill them up.
That is so smart and venues should be required to do this who cares if they don’t make money from it. Like the Lallapalooza festival in Chicago you can bring any type of water bottle they just make you uncap it and turn it upside down to show it has no liquid. Then they have free water refill stations in different areas for you to fill your bottle.
When you’re in a hot stadium with no access to water and it’s all closed off, then they have to be responsible for you. You kind of become like the child because you can’t care for yourself because you don’t have water you’re not allowed to bring water there is no water at all, so they could at least provide a lot of water for everybody because of how hot it was there and it’s not like it’s their fault there’s literally no water they’re not allowed to bring it. The tour is three hours long heat stroke is more common than you think.
This kind of thing is WAY TOO COMMON. I've work events and have had problems with the staff of the actual venue in the past on multiple occasions. Even attending concerts and events i've seen venues leave NO WAY for people to access free water and it end in multiple people leaving in ambulances but the venues act like it's no big deal. It should be completely illegal to deny water at large events. It can and will get extremely hot even when it's not necessarily hot outside just due to so many people being in close proximity. It makes me so angry that things like this happen. Before I started working events there was a concert I went to in new york during the winter where again ambulances were called for people, and the venue had ONE water fountain available to drink out of that my friend already knew about from being there a previous time, me and her had to really push the staff to be allowed access to that one water fountain because we were both dehydrated but she was so dehydrated she was starting to feel like she was gonna pass out and that was before the show even started. They had the water fountain just slightly past the area that they cut off fans being allowed to go to, obviously intentionally. If no one had spoken up about knowing it was there they probably would have just continued lying to people about there being no free water.
📌I'm Brazilian, I discovered your channel recently but I already love it. I don't follow Taylor but you did some good research. That's exactly what happened. A very famous TV program here in Brazil interviewed the parents of the girl who died and they had no help with the burial. I think it would have been nice if Taylor had helped even though it wasn't her fault.
I’ve been wondering about her family. I have a feeling Taylor’s team just might give something soon. Once she catches wind of it. With all this information it’s a lot to sift through. Is there a way to create a gofundme or web page to start funding for her family? I’d gladly help I wonder what different platforms are used there and who to give it to in her family
The girl who died had caring good parents, and they said they want someone punished for the sudden death of theirr daughter. If they’re offered money as compensation they’ll likely quickly calm down
while money would help at least for the burial. No amount of money will 'calm down' a grieving parent. They shouldn't have lost their daughter, some one apart of the venue made the decisions that led to her death. No amount of money can change what happened or bring their daughter back. No parent should ever have to bury their child. :'(
@@ReeCrowsFray The Brazilian fans opened it and managed to come together and help the family. I read and saw the video of the mother crying and thanking fans for the money. But the mother is devastated.

I'm Brazilian, I'm watching this unfold and it just gets worse. However, it needs to be said, at no point did Taylor even mentioned Ana's name. No tribute, nothing, zero. She's doing everything to erase Ana's death.

Just my honest opinion.
Just imagine someone panicking due to those conditions and when one starts panicking, others will follow panicking as well. With all emergency exits bolted, this could have been a repetition of the Love-Parade tragedy in Germany in 2010, where 21 people where trampled to death. I guess it might have become even worse here. 😥
I also am a chronic concert goer in a variety of places in Texas. I live in on of the most humid and hot part is it. Triple digits temperatures about 104F is average for about 4-8 months and have been in plenty of indoor/outdoor concerts and although none of them allow water, until this past two summers since astroworld in Houston (since I’m only a couple of hours away) they have always have massive water canteens EVERYWHERE, since as long as I can remember. Even theme parks. They’ve always kept them full and clean. I’ve been to and outdoor festival or few during the hottest part of the summer during droughts and records heats and have seen many pass out. But have also seen those people immediately get help from medics. I’ve also heard of concert goers who left early from the heat end up having to run and hide for their lives because arratas (I think I’m spelling that wrong, apologies) who are gangs, were waiting outside the venue to rob people at gun point. May hid in a Burger King and heard shots fired. There was no police or outdoor security and apparently it’s said by the people it seems planned bc the police and government are corrupt and it’s well known by natives. This is heartbreaking. Another astroworld but because of the greed of a country and promoter. The local media and public then started a hate campaign against Taylor saying she’s only “stopping the show bc she’s r*cist and hates their people”. Wtf?!
Our country is VERY poor and no one can afford a water bottle for 10 REAIS, normally it is sold for 1 real, and one time when I was so thirsty I only found a place where they sold a average water bottle for 5 REAIS
I send my heavy condolences to Ana Clara Benevides. Also why was this taken place during a heat wave in Brazil where temperatures at this time are unbearable. Awful conditions and this is why I do not go to indoor gigs because of something like this awful event…
And you know Taylor would’ve paid anything for help for her fans. It’s so heartbreaking. I legit lost it when a Swiftie bought a whole truck full of water. Bless them. I hope Taylor sees this. And I hope she knows it’s not her fault.
Actually, Taylor did not pay for a very important thing that she should have paid for if she really cared. Ana Clara’s body only arrived in her family’s town (where she was gonna get buried) because the fans paid for the transportation. The family couldn’t afford it. I honestly think Taylor should have paid for it seeing that she is a billionaire and supposedly has a lot of empathy. However she did not. Besides, she didn’t sing any song to pay tribute to her, because she never mentioned the girl’s name before or after performing. So people are assuming it was a song dedicated to her but they are literally just guessing. I feel like giving free water is the least she could have done.
@@annaFTValente Maybe it was too difficult to talk about and maybe she wanted them to have a positive experience at a show that was once a tragedy. She made public statements. And SHE didn’t do anything wrong. She was throwing waters and her team bought and gave out so much water despite Brazilian stadium took away everything. She also changed lyrics from “sick of sadness” to “everything I touch is ashes” while crying. It’s probably hard to recover from that while still trying to let others have their show. She does really care. Is she really responsible for anything here? Why is this Taylor’s fault? She wanted to give water out. Don’t blame her for the death of Ana.
@@catnus I definitely did not say Ana Clara’s death was Taylor’s fault and you know it! Her lack of action is disappointing, that’s all. Also, changing the lyrics to “everything I touch turn into ashes” is a good way to make herself look like the victim, when the true victim was Ana.
@@annaFTValente the venue is at fault. her staff bought and gave out water. she stopped the show multiple times. she tried to get the flame effects turned off but the venue proceeded as if it wasn’t a heat wave. why are we putting so much pressure on Taylor? she was just the performer. Put pressure on the VENUE. and this tragic incident caused a MAJOR LAW CHANGE that water is free at venues in Brazil, crediting aid from Taylor and Swifties for sparking change. You’re making it seem like she did nothing. Hold the people accountable who deserve to be held accountable. The lyric change was traumatic because she’s internalized this as if it was her fault because people like you come online and expect her to grow wings and be an Angel that can change what happened. She’s trying. She did so much more than those who were actively responsible for this death. And Taylor made handwritten posts to honor her and she contacted the family. We don’t know what she did behind the scenes. Stop speculating and put the right people towards the flame, please.
I’ve had to stop coming to concerts if it’s only GA because even on cold days the body heat alone was enough to make me pass out, I can’t even imagine being in this situation. free water should be necessary at every concert ever. I’m sending all my love and support to everyone who was at the concert.
Brazilian here. I don't know what went to T4F mind to do what they did in Rio de Janeiro, a place that is known for its high temperature, even though it's just spring. I live in the countryside of the São Paulo State, the border with the Rio de Janeiro State is 3 hours away from my city, my sister and I got so sick because of this heat wave, my sister fainted at school, public schools don't have air-conditioning system, especially a public school in a rural area in a countryside city, that also blocked the windows with metal plates to prevent robbery, and the fans that is a miracle if one of them works, I know that because is the same school that studied from 3° grade until I graduated high school. While I already have low blood pressure and low blood sugar, I was extremely dehydrated and I couldn't eat anything hot, I just didn't went to hospital, because my is a nurse. In my 24 years, I never saw a heat wave this bad. Outside of the stadium was almost 40°C, Taylor's team handled with this situation as they could, they tried to postpone the show, but T4F didn't allowed, Taylor almost fainted, she handed water for the fans. The show yesterday (Sunday) went a lot better, because it rained the whole, so the temperature dropped, but we could see that Taylor was not well, she was in verge of tears almost the whole show, she sang "Dance with our hands tied" because Ana's favourite album was Reputation, and then she sang "Bigger than the whole sky", she even changed the lyric to "Everything I touch, turns into ashes" or something like that, I was to busy crying to pay attention on the lyrics. She is probably blaming herself a lot, and I don't blame her at all for not wanting to talk about that at the show, she might not be ready talk about it yet, but she still have a whole week to do something. Edit: Btw when it's a football (soccer) match, you are allowed to bring food and water from outside, at least in São Paulo is, because my mom and I took a KFC bucket to a match before.
I knew this was bad, but I didn't know any of these insane details. This is actually so baffling and inhumane. I truly don't even understand how this situation is even real. Taylor must've been and must be so heartbroken and infuriated..
Yeah sure. She must be "so heartbroken" , just like how "heartbroken" Travis Scott was after Astroworld. I don't see Taylor posting anything about how heartbroken she is for this poor girl that died because of her damn show? A girl died, because Taylor + her team failed to do precautions!! I want to see you say the exact same words " Taylor must be so heartbroken" when you sister, mom or anybody of your family goes to her concert and dies under these circumstances. I bet you won't say these words. But as long as the person who was taken, wasn't your loved one it's alright isn't it?
@@letstrythis4624 she literally posted about it on her insta story?? it was entirely t4f's fault that this happened anyway, did you even watch the video?
@@letstrythis4624she literally posted about how devastated she felt (she wrote a whole letter) and also posponed the following concert (with deficiencies because they wouldn’t allow her to postpone it) because of what happened in this one. If you should be blaming someone is the venue, no one else had any control of the situation. 🙃
Thanks for making this video and speaking about this tragedy in such an open and respectfull way! Justice be done for Ana Clara Benevides!❤ AlthoughTaylor is not responsible for what happened (for sure the organizer, T4F, is the one to be blamed), Taylor's team probably had to make some sort of contract/agreement prior do the tour, and it was also their responsability to make sure everything would be exactly the way they wanted, because if ANYTHING goes wrong, it is Taylor's reputation that will be affected! That being said, brazilian fans are very disappointed, not because they think Taylor had any responsability, but because of how cold and insensitive Taylor was by not addressing the death of Ana at all! On her first concert after Ana's death, she did not mentioned Ana's name, and it's not clear if the "extra" song she sang on that same concert was a tribute to Ana. But Ana's memory definitely DESERVED MORE RESPECT AND LOVE!!! Today, almost a week later, Taylor is still silent and hasn't even said she feels SORRY for Ana's DEATH! People in Brazil are feeling really sad and confused by her silence, specially giving the fact that it is well known an american fan who fainted at one of Taylor's US concerts received all kinds of support, even from Taylor's mom. As for Ana's family, they didn't even had the money to pay for her body to be sent back from RJ to her city of residence. Brazilian swifties PAYED for that! It would have been nice if the family had received AT LEAST a word of kindess from Taylor's team or Taylor herself. Unfortunately, the U.S. media is doing everything in their power to "clean" Taylor's reputation for the things she didn't do, specially making up stories about a conversation between Taylor and Ana's family, but that never happened! I really hope Taylor don't leave Brazil without saying a single kind word about her fan who FRIED TO DEATH only to see her perform!!!!
Its also because dangerous substances can be easily disguised as water, which can make it easier for teroorist attacks to happen. Same reason why you cant bring your own water on the plane
@@ChristinaGXLI'm pretty sure it's always been that way, I'm not so sure about the history, why you can't bring you're own water. We live in a paranoid world.
As a Brazilian, we were all devastated, the people that organized the concert are veryirresponsible, we are now in summer and here it is normally VERY hot summer, and they should have known it was hot AND giving water bottles and with a lot of people.
What happened to Ana breaks my heart. Not even a Swiftie, this is the first I’ve heard of this. I went on a hike one summer with a friend. I was stupid and decided to wear a fun sparkly jacket and no shirt underneath. Forgot a water bottle too. Ended up badly overheated and dehydrated, in the hospital for a while. It felt absolutely terrible, the worst experience of my life. I can’t even imagine what poor Ana went through. May she rest in peace
I think one thing people are overlooking a bit is that Taylor and her team are counting on any venue they attend to do their part - make sure its safe, clear emergency exits, etc etc and unfortunately, its only after something like this happens that they become aware that not every venue operates with the same integrity. Sucks for everyone all around. The friends and community for losing Ana. Of course, Ana, for being gone too soon. The family for losing their daughter. The fans for enduring such hellish conditions. Taylor and her team for having to deal with making massive decisions like postponing or going on. Taylor and her dancers and backup singers for having to perform in that heat with extra lights and costimes added. Her parents for now having to watch their daughter likely blame herself. And for Taylor herself, who Im sure carries some guilt, but was also helpless in the situation. Our eyes should mostly be turned to the VENUE operators. Closing the vents so people can't see?! Absolutely reckless. Also, apprehending her vehicles was insane. Many celebrities of her caliber have to take those kinds of safety precautions. Even more insane, and uncalled for, was the government "leaking" which hotel she was staying at. Which can also potentially put innocent workers and bystanders at risk! Call me crazy but it definitely looks like the city officials are trying to, not only shift the blame, but hoping to fine/penalize her outside of what is called for.
I still remember feeling so out of breath and effected by the heat of the two BTS concerts i went to because they were just so humid and hot in the summer kinds. One in NJ and one in CA both open stadium but that locked in feel you explained was there. Unimaginable how it must have been here but the pyrotechnics should have known better. I mean they did it at the BTS ones u went to and my asthmatic ass was like DEAR GOD least i have a mask on but fuckin hell, there needs to be some better planning and regulations going on. At the very least making water free would help SM. Both, i remember i barely ate the entire trips just to have enough money for water because it's the only thing that also soothes me when that tense chest thing happens due to anxiety of things or asthma. This i terrible to hear and i really hope things change.
I can't help but think Taylor should have control of the industry, she and the swifties would be the only people keeping such horrid people accountable.. I hope that the organizer is buried under lawsuits
Taylor failed. A girl died at this concert because of the heat. Why are you all overlooking a dead person and praising Taylor as if this girl didn't just die at her show!?
@@letstrythis4624yeah it’s taylor’s fault that the stadium owners closed the vents and didn’t allow water. TAYLOR AND HER TEAM had to pass out water during her show.
If it was up to me I would recommend for artists to avoid bringing arena concerts around October - February specially if there's no designed seats which is, unfortunately, the norm. It's really hot and rains like A LOT. There's a so many thunderstorms around this time. The was one on November 3 in São Paulo that the power was out for over 24 hours (in privileged neighbourhoods). We need changes in how arena concerts happen. We need more shows with designed seats! specially when there's a change of these conditions... Even because when in the crowd standing up like this is, there is a tendency of not wanting to drink as much water as you should because if you go to the restroom, you loose your place and that's it, I know that there were people that even went with dippers there. And this alone is the start of a recipe for disaster! Put on top the heat wave and the restrict access to water... I think that as soon as we get into the venue we should be handed out a water bottle. A 500ml water bottle is sold in the supermarket for around 2 reais, while the 200ml was being sold for 10 reais... and not only that, fans were saying the water was hot, I saw a fan saying the when she drank it was hot and she threw a little bit on herself to cool off and it felt a little more fresh than that, I guess... I cannot imagine how it must have felt inside the stadium... Rio is a really hot city by it's own... with all the conditions there... the limited access to water and the ventilation exits being blocked... that is torture!
This is disgusting - no show or star is more important than a human being's health or air supply. When are we going to stop hyping this BS up and treat stars the way they deserve to be treated? Like a fucking human like the rest of us... It's stupid that there was a heat wave and they were being SO ELITE that they couldn't keep the ventilation open knowing they charge like 10$ per bottle of water. The music is good but it isn't life-changing -p going to a show and getting severely injured like this IS, however. Like people are suffering in the audience....that would ruin the whole experience and tbh this is all just ridiculous. Not Taylor's fault, but this has happened at so many shows and venues with different stars and I am so tired of this kind of stuff (stars and famous people) hyped up and charging 1000K for a ticket and then even having the chance to get injured, pass out and even die in the audience.
Papp Laszlo Budapest Sportarena is the same, I was at a Simple Plan/Sum 41 show last fall. They closed the whole building and there were 3 bands performing (it was like a 5 hour thing) I was at front row but I had to leave the stage after Simple Plan to buy water. You can only buy water at 1 single place inside (!!!) I had to stand in line to buy water (for a stupidly high price) for like half on hour. I missed 7 songs from the Sum 41 setlist to get a freaking bottle of water. I felt so drained and sick that I ended up not even caring about Sum 41's performance as much as I would normally do. They should give out free water in the crowd at shows, it's a neccesity.
Taylor is such a kind human, she provided water to people cause the organisation would never she’s really a good person she cares about her fans a lot!! We love you Taylor 💗🙌😭🫶🏻
No she doesn’t, she did the bare minimum. It’s HER SHOW plus her teams cars were apprehended because their plates were illegal. They literally did some shady shit to get cars for cheap, it’s pathetic. (I know my sources I’m from Brazil and I have friends that got tickets)

I went to a P!nk concert a few months back, and I was so grateful that staff were giving out cups of water. I was super worried after this situation in Brazil and i'm glad that Optus Stadium didn't handle it the way the venue in brazil did
One of the teachers in my school was at the concert on the day the girl died. He said it was very fun, but that he almost passed out several times because of the heat
The emergency exits being closed was just baiting disaster. Liverpool, Sheffield and Nottingham in the UK are still mourning the (preventable) deaths of *97* football fans at Hillsborough when there were people being crushed due to crowd mismanagement and the attendees COULDNT GET OUT because there were too few turnstiles and panicked. Can you imagine if something, ANYTHING, had happened to make people try to leave at these concerts with the fire exits blocked? How many people could have died from being crushed?
One time in a life time thing... I guess you would not remember much when you're laying on the floor fainted, probably people stepping all over you. Or worse.. you end uo dead like this GIRL THAT DIED BECAUSE OF THE HEAT AT TAYLORS DAMN CONCERT, which everyone seems to completely ignore.
im a brazilian, i knew there was the concert but i didnt know that happened. like seriously, depending where it was, it would still be hot. im from rio de janeiro and when its 27C it feels like 30C. they should've be more careful tbh.
137° shit i dont think it's ever gotten over here past 110. omg. thats insane. here in the us we have warped tour and they charge a 20oz water/gatoraid for anywhere 4-10$ they also take your caps so you cant refill it. i really feel water should be free. tickets are expensive enough let alone merchandise. i seen 2 people pass out due to dehydration and one person got really hurt in a mosh pit but who knows there could have been more who got dehydration because there wass 12 stages.
Taylor is so sweet. That place should have just provided damn water in the first place. Ridiculous...water shouldn't be paid for in Brazil especially during a heat wave. This world just keeps getting crazier by day.
The fact that Taylor and her team were helping the fans and doing a lot more than the organizers says lot like TF is wrong with the venue? Also Taylor throwing a water bottle into the coward and doing the best she could. I hope she knows this isn't her fault. As a fan of her, She would do anything for her fans. Ps. Rest in peace Ana
Watching this made me remember how Billie Eilish stopped a her own performance to give fans water and make sure they were okay and only started the concert again when the fan confirmed she was okay.
this has an eerie resemblince to the kiss nightclub catching on fire, lack of care for the customers, greed by the owners... blocking emergency exits...
I'm so happy people are talking about it. It was so heavy and we thought that it would only stay as a national news and no one would care properly and I'm so glad that you talked about it
this is so terrifying.. i can't believe i never ended up hearing anything of this when it happened.. i went to a concert once when i was a teen, and, before the show even started, i had a panic attack and had to leave. this situation caused me to have homebound agoraphobia for the last 4 or so years. hearing that these people were essentially trapped in this venue..... i cant even comprehend what id have done in that situation.. i never even got all the way to my nosebleed seats before i had to leave during my experience.. i feel just horrible for those poor people and most especially the lady who lost her life...... this is a completely stupid and greedy situation and i hope there are lessons learned from this. they shouldnt have had to be learned at all in this way, its a basic necessity to have water and also A WAY TO GET OUT OF A SITUATION, regardless of any sort of heat wave or anything, things can happen at events like this where you just have to get out!!
In 2022 I went to a MCR show when there was a heat wave here in Germany (which ofc is not that extreme like the one in Brasil but it still was extemely hot - about 40°C) and the security handed out free water all the time! It's so easy to prevent such things from happening. There were also people spraying water from a hose so everyone in the crowd could cool down. And the paramedics took everyone seriously when someone did faint from the heat. It's just insane to me how this scandal just went away after a few weeks.
Same thing happened at Woodstock II. I forget the state but the conditions led to people setting fire to concession stands charging too much for water.
I was not aware of this until you popet up. I sometimes think it would be fun to go to a big concert but... eeh... I'll stay relatively safe at home, thanks!
Dehydration is DANGEROUS. Nah it’s just a trashy venue. I hope she sues the crap out of them. Inexcusable, and unacceptable. 60 degree Celsius = 140 degree fahrenheit……….
@@Xxluna_werewolfxX If you get to the point of begging for water that’s how you know. Your body will tell you. Or feel like you’re going to black out, throw up, or pass out.
It used to be at least in metal or rock concerts. A free water fountain was used to distribute water. I've been to a few where they would use special pumps to bring up water from a salt water bay, it would go through desalination, filters, UV, charcoal and you got a little hose spout you could shoot a nice glass of clean, clear purified water in your drink cups. Cool in the bay already, the water was a easy few degrees cooler than the air and sun. Sometimes you would get those advanced ones that would run purified drinking water from a tank, through a cold coil and would give you a ice cold glass. I've also had a few metal concerts where they didn't have this system. It was rare to get it, but it was awesome to have water on the fly like that. I've never been to a pop concert so I'm not sure how it is. But in a metal concert yes water is sold at a premium, but you are allowed 1 sealed bottle with refill stations all around. Bands would pass out or toss water, sometimes spray people down with hoses in the crowd to prevent the heat from cooking everyone. Urging people to drink water and allowing people to get free water if it was absolutely needed by asking. There was also lots of sprayers, misters, cool tents (tents with seating and blowing high powered fans), AC bar trailers you could go in if you felt sick or hot. If that didn't work or you felt heat sick, you could go to the medics tent and get a free water, a ice pack and allowed to cool yourself by sitting in front of a fan. If you needed to lay down they did have cots with those doctor paper mats they would change out. I've been to over 50 rock and metal concerts since I was 16. Out of all of them, I want to say around 18~ didn't have some of these facilities. Usually the bare minimum or none at all. These were venues that were small in nature and didn't have much to go on facilities. I know that with pop concerts it's a single headliner, so there is not much in way of a show, while metal or rock have multiple headliners and it's mostly festival style with a whole days worth of activities and fun. Its a damn shame this happened to that young lady. This was all in 100 F heat in sub tropical Florida, with Brazil being very similar, I can see things going south really fast.
This is terrible. I’ve had a second degree burn before and they’re so painful and horrible to recover from. My scar is very visible and will likely always be that way (I don’t mind it I think it looks cool, but many others do not feel the same and that is completely valid). I would never wish a burn and the recovery hell on anyone, so seeing that people get these burns because of negligence is so sad to me. They did nothing wrong all they wanted was to see Taylor Swift :(
Wow, this venue killed a person, and injured a thousand others with 2nd degree burns and severe dehydration, and they blocked off the emergency exits! What kind of psychopath is running that venue?
In the US this would be $100M+ in lawsuits
Taylor’s team should at minimum sue the venue for risking her reputation.
Other things to add:
- Her name was never mentioned in all 3 shows in Rio.
- In Brazil, a movement began to implement the law Ana Clara Benevides "(...)law which provides for the mandatory provision of free drinking water and adequate structure at festivals, shows and events with gathering people"
Note: Not saying AT ALL was Taylor fault, but idk, It looked like they pretended nothing happened wich is such a freaking cold thing to do.

Humans quickly die without water. We ALL have a medical condition that requires water-being human! I’m chronically ill & usually mad when people lie about having disabilities, but I am in full support of people saying they have a medical condition that requires they carry water with them. Water access is a human right.
I'm late to all of this but anyway-
Outside drinks are a problem tho.
Evil people will do evil things, and aren't going to abide by rules and laws, but that doesn't mean we should make the lives of average citizens worse under the guise of protecting them.

and even then, i won't be near that many people unless it's a metal show.

If no one had spoken up about knowing it was there they probably would have just continued lying to people about there being no free water.

while money would help at least for the burial. No amount of money will 'calm down' a grieving parent.

Also Ana’s family asked her not to talk about i think - plus she released a statement on Instagram
did u hear the police took taylors vehicles. they said it was because the license plates were not being shown. they also told the name of taylors hotel she was staying in.
what that’s horrible
In Brazil you're not allowed to drive a car with no license plate, that's a literal crime
You need license plate to drive friend
Them telling people the hotel Taylor was that is life threatening to her because something bad could happen and they know
@@louisagrainger9312 she had A LOT of security, and she could just go to another hotel, there's more than one five star hotel in Brazil. Besides, nothing bad happened with her, but with her fan, you know, the girl who literally just went to her concert to die?
It’s Taylor Swift you would think the concert team who’s in charge would b like oh crap we have Taylor performing here we better make sure it’s safe for everybody
it was the venue who didnt let them bring water in
This is Brazil, people in charge prefer money over safety. Brazil is a wild land, where you can commit literal crimes but if you are rich you can get away with it
@@lexipeanut1674 yeah I totally understand if people don’t like Taylor but to leave all this hate comments is strange behaviour to me it’s like high school all over again
I knew this was bad, but I didn't know any of these insane details. This is actually so baffling and inhumane. I truly don't even understand how this situation is even real. Taylor must've been and must be so heartbroken and infuriated..
Did she stop the concert NO she was aware of the heat

Why do they not let fans bring water bottles? Asking as someone who's never been to a concert.
@@letstrythis4624 OK, thanks
Its also because dangerous substances can be easily disguised as water, which can make it easier for teroorist attacks to happen. Same reason why you cant bring your own water on the plane

Because we have to live in a world where every single person is 100% definitely a terrorist unless proven otherwise. It's fucked.
Not me thinking this was a funky frog bait video from the title
The industry is too big. She’s lucky to have an amazing team though. Teamwork makes the dream work.
Taylor failed. A girl died at this concert because of the heat. Why are you all overlooking a dead person and praising Taylor as if this girl didn't just die at her show!?
@@letstrythis4624 So are you saying it's entirely Taylor's Fault when the odds were against her?
@@letstrythis4624yeah it’s taylor’s fault that the stadium owners closed the vents and didn’t allow water. TAYLOR AND HER TEAM had to pass out water during her show.
An American singer can’t go boss Brazil around and tell them to smarten up because she said so. She doesn’t have the authority to do that
If it was up to me I would recommend for artists to avoid bringing arena concerts around October - February specially if there's no designed seats which is, unfortunately, the norm.
I stayed up for this. It’s 4:42am, I haven’t gone to bed. I’m wild…I love Hayley’s hair ❤

One of the teachers in my school was at the concert on the day the girl died. He said it was very fun, but that he almost passed out several times because of the heat
props to the person at 7:16 who provided the best water needed like it was the cartel

Im sorry but all them people should have got a refund and they should have exited immediately
Taylor swifts concert are insane there have been a lot of people who fainted like it’s insane it is a one time in a life Time though

A friend of mine actually went, she had to travel to Brazil, we are from a neighbouring country, and she fainted from the heat
Taylor is so sweet. That place should have just provided damn water in the first place. Ridiculous...water shouldn't be paid for in Brazil especially during a heat wave. This world just keeps getting crazier by day.
T4F should be charged for negligence
The fact that Taylor and her team were helping the fans and doing a lot more than the organizers says lot like TF is wrong with the venue? Also Taylor throwing a water bottle into the coward and doing the best she could. I hope she knows this isn't her fault. As a fan of her, She would do anything for her fans. Ps. Rest in peace Ana
It's very important that you are bringing true details of this absurd and criminal tragedy to the english speaking public. Hugs from Brazil.
It was so heavy and we thought that it would only stay as a national news and no one would care properly and I'm so glad that you talked about it
Thank you for this passionate video - this really puts things in perspective and I hope it helps to make for change.
I thought it couldn’t get any worse then the stage FLAMES 😂 omfg. No. Just no. Stage Tech shouldn’t have done that and give the people free water tbh.
Water needs to be included in the ticket prices at all events, globally. It's not a luxury, it's a necessity.
this is so terrifying.. i can't believe i never ended up hearing anything of this when it happened.. i went to a concert once when i was a teen, and, before the show even started, i had a panic attack and had to leave. this situation caused me to have homebound agoraphobia for the last 4 or so years. hearing that these people were essentially trapped in this venue..... i cant even comprehend what id have done in that situation.. i never even got all the way to my nosebleed seats before i had to leave during my experience.. i feel just horrible for those poor people and most especially the lady who lost her life...... this is a completely stupid and greedy situation and i hope there are lessons learned from this. they shouldnt have had to be learned at all in this way, its a basic necessity to have water and also A WAY TO GET OUT OF A SITUATION, regardless of any sort of heat wave or anything, things can happen at events like this where you just have to get out!!
GREED PERIOD
Taylor should finally another venue in that area the next time she plans to tour there. T4F should be ashamed.
Same thing happened at Woodstock II. I forget the state but the conditions led to people setting fire to concession stands charging too much for water.

@@Xxluna_werewolfxX If you get to the point of begging for water that’s how you know. Your body will tell you. Or feel like you’re going to black out, throw up, or pass out.
as a brazilian i could easily be this girl. i'm terrified of concerts because of the crowd.
