I paid 300 bucks per ticket for me and my 10 yr old daughter to see her. She's loved Melanie since she was 6 ( she actually introduced me to her!) And I have no regrets. Our seats were great and she really brought it here in MI!!! The crowd was insane too, very full of energy & sang every lyric. She was on stage for a little over an hr & it was amazing. I'm really glad I didn't buy the VIP package though 😢 I feel bad for the people who spent that much for a crappy AI picture!!

I don't think melanie even has a break. This is just like the time Olivia Rodrigo has been blamed for her marketing team. Melanie creates they're own music videos, they're own costumes designs, their own production. Plus the script and the movie will take a lot of work, i am not surprised by how people think she separate themselves from the fans, i mean she has work to do. I am just glad we get to see the movie for free.

As someone who was at the Austin show, I was singing my heart out and I had the most amazing time. But Melanie was not irritated she was just trying to pick up the energy. In our defense, it was like 100 degrees out there and we were all sweating and exhausted. But she only called us out for one song. Also, the cameras can’t pick up everything the crowd does. Why are people even so worried about the crowd? I thought you would wanna hear Melanie more. That’s what I paid for. I didn’t come over there to hear y’all’s ass.

I feel like the reason she's not doing meet&greets during this particular tour is because of the character costume. it looks like she can barely see out of the prosthetics and plus, even if she were to take them off- after performing on stage with the lights shining on her and dancing, if she were to do a regular meet&greet as herself, she probably figures she'd keep fans waiting too long by having to remove the prosthetics and washing up and applying make-up and hair...it'd take too long. plus this character seems really important for her to play, at least during the Portals tour. not excusing the computerized photobooth with avatar Melanie costing being apart of the VIP tickets...like that should have been free or at least cheap in price, since its kinda like just taking a pic with a Melanie filter lol. BUT I understand why she couldn't herself. that's just my guess.
plus artists want you to be energetic in the crowd and actually seem like you like the music, otherwise its not fun and its awkward for the performer. so I can understand her feeling like giving up, if the fans in that crowd aren't seeming like they even like the music she's performing.
i think another reason might be because a fan got her sick at the meet and greet she had back in april and she cant be sick while shes in the middle of her tour

3:15 - 3:48 i actually WENT to the concert, and tbh.. that concert was creaming and singing. the whole thing, (it was in australia) and i have a feeling it’s because media has consumed us all to the point we take videos and don’t actually BE in the concert. like it’s good to take videos and everything, but i barely took any because i was SO excited?! At billie eilish's tour there was a plain black long sleeve shirt with "happier than ever" on the front and "billie eilish" on the back. I bought that for forty bucks. Her hoodies were 100 dollars. Other shirts were 50 to 80 so let's not hold her to a standard if we don't hold others to that same one. But I do agree with other comments

With this controversy over Mel’s tour most of this stuff is out of her control. It was mainly Atlantic records that helped mel set up this tour and so the blame should go to them. I think Melanie is great artist. I’m sure that she wouldn’t want to do this to her fans but she had to since the recording company she works for is forcing her to do this stuff.
I feel like Melanie is just kinda on a low budget considering that she is trying to make a lot more music videos and a movie (they cost a lot and it might turn out to be a good chunck of a million) and she’s only worth abt 6 million dollars. She hasn’t even started filming her movie yet due to the fact she doesn’t have the funds for it yet. I think that her team is also just lacking in the hard work I don’t think that Melanie would have wanted such low quality ai considering how imaginative and creative and realistic visuals she is. Also I feel like I wouldn’t really do a meet in greet as much if I danced and sang for a hour in a full body suit with a mask and clothes on top of that. But the amount of issues for the vip is unfortunate. But I don’t think she’s losing touch with her fans I think she just might be a hell of a lot tired and stressed out cause she has a long list of things to do

I believe that Melanie does care about her fans, but I honestly think it’s her teams fault and not hers.
I thought Melanie was rested, but nobody knows how hard she worked on this new album. She is stressed, it is noticeable that she is dealing with terrible anxiety, at the shows you can even see it, in the interaction with the fans and that is why she is not interacting that much I guess. Maybe she's not as well as we think, but who knows?
And she is also getting a lot of hate on her directed without anyone considering anything else like the company and stuff who manages her items.

I love melanie martinez, have since the beginning of crybaby. But something about this Era is off. I went to the K12 tour in Wisconsin and had VIP tickets. There wasn't a meet and greet either but there was a cool merch pack and signed poster, and finally props from her K12 movie. This to me for the K12 tour all made since The price of the ticket was about 120 including fees. Now I'm going to see the portals tour, and I can't help but feel underwhelmed with this tour in particular. It's not that there's anything wrong, particularly. Yet, the pricing for the early VIP admission was 150 including fees. Now remember how I said earlier that the K12 tour was only 120, including fees, but I also got a cool merch pack and a signed poster. Now for the portals tour it's a 3rd of the price more and I don't get half of the stuff I did with the K12 tour, the only way I would was if I paided 500 for the portals experience. I think If I where melanie martinez I would offer signed posters to both of the VIP packages, not just the 500 portals VIP experience. I understand why she doesn't want to do meet and greets, that is totally okay. Nothing wrong with that, but 500 dollars for a AI picture some lousy vip looking merch, and to write a letter Is just underwhelming for the price of 500 dollars. Also I would be absolutely pissed If I paid that much and didn't get what I was told to get, either it be 150 or the 500 dollar bundle.
Melanie's voice on the other hand is phenomenal but something about her performance for the portals tour seems off as well. I can't put my figure on it but I'm worried about her, metal and physical health more importantly. I love melanie and im still excited to attend a show and lucky enough to get tickets. I will still enjoy the show, but I just feel weary about the future for Melanie's touring.

i'm so confused with this ticket prices. i got my early access tickets for 90$? the early access VIP's (floor) were like 150$. that honestly might have just been me since i was a top 2,000 listener on her spotify and got really early access to the tickets, but i think your talking about resellers and tickets that were being sold later on. idk, but i got my tickets for 90$ for being able to enter the concert hall early. if i remember correctly, regular balcony tickets were 40$
@@melxlemonade yeah depends on venue and location, but the consensus (and my own tickets when I was still a fan), were way high ticket prices. Was on the discord when tickets dropped, and it was about 200-150 for regular floor tickets and 300-400 for front rows/vip package.

The meet and greet was not promised, however her merch has been awful - my vinyl looked nothing like the photo and i ordered the death 2 in 1 shirt and after the shirt sold out they changed the photo to what it actually looked like which was not what it was before it was sold out...

some people just dont get the amount of time melanie has to do this kind of stuff, let alone barely having any control for prices, dates of when things come out, and what goes through and in their shipping processes. her team decides all of that for her. not only that, shes making a whole movie for her fans, which means that she needs to write scripts, ideas, and possibly have them approved by someone. then on top of that, people complain about her wearing a mask throughout the concert and not seeing her face all that much. but even if she was just out there not wearing a mask for her character, her fans would be disappointed that she didnt because of the fact that her character is a whole different person than what her past character is. also, she has to take off the outfit, the mask, and the skin suit for it all. she has to catch planes/drive all the way to different states. she also has the tunnel vision music video to film (seen by a comment somewhere) and she has to take care of herself throughout the process. she wants to leave the crybaby era in the past by ending it with a trilogy, so she can make new music for herself and her fans. she really wants to make her fans happy, but with the prices that her fans are complaining about, shes getting backlash for it. all the money these people are wasting for concerts, vips, merch, and the ai meet and greets are most likely going to the funds for her movie and music videos. its pricey, but shes doing it to make her fans happy. mind you she has no control over it. its her team you should be criticizing in my opinion.

I love melanie so much, shes helped m through some very serious things, but some of these things that are happening right now with them is crazy, i think ill always be a melanie lover because of how her music has helped me, but the portals perfume prices, the ai photo, the curser in said photo is a little crazy. im going to her trilogy tour in june and im so excited but i am hoping and praying that she isnt miserable and overall bored like in the one clip, because i have wanted nothing more in my life to see a Melanie preformce in real life, i went to the virtual one in 2020 and it was good considering it was virtual,, but i really hope she turns this all around before she goes down the path of getting cancelled for good this time, shes delt with backlash before, she im sure it didnt sit right with her, but she is DEFINITELY dealing with a lot of it right now.
People have to realize that Melanie is busy and she can’t do meet and greet before the tour. Also she’s probably getting all the stuff on getting ready for the concert (the whole nymph outfit takes almost 10 hours!)
Adding to the vid that said that Mel wasn’t giving her all on tour, one was correct, two, fans were waiting outside in the blistering heat for HOURS. It was really over packed, and some people had to leave early because of the lack of water, and sun poisoning (they also wore sunscreen but it wore off before the concert started). At the concert I went to, you had to throw out your water that you brought and I think there was only two water fountains in the ENTIRE stage.
This is also something that I was a little disappointed by, but I bought my tickets the minute they were first available, and were supposed to get the forth row for the GA, but I probably got like the 30th row. To be fair, I was right on time for the concert, but I literally couldn’t get there any earlier cause of a mandatory event that would’ve been detrimental if I missed it. However, I thought the GA seats were going to sectioned off, but it was first come first serve, which kinda sucked since I paid more to get my tickets early.
Ok, Ik that was a lot of shade dropped, but Im also a MEGA fan like how this UA-camr is. I still love Mel, but it was disappointing to say the least
Yk, I agree she’s losing touch with her fans, I wanna post a video about it but to put it, I believe it started with the Timothy heller situation when there was a shift with her and her fans, I think i remember seeings (not sure) that after her statement she made, her PR took over her social media accounts, and that’s when the interactions with her fans got less and less, she use to post so much and interact with her fans on tumblr and other socials.

You can't give any criticism without fans bashing you. They act like you have to dick-ride your favorite artist or you aren't a "true fan/or [insert insult here]". I don't get why they are so defiant when it comes to critiquing her when its warranted. You cannot defend these problems forever. These problems continued happening because fans with parasocial relationships kept letting it happen. Her music videos for Portals gain way less views in an hour than both her Crybaby and K-12 era; they racked millions of views within an hour, and she can't even break a million in one. Even when she released her new album she had the same issue. This is not her best era whatsoever. It feels like a giant cash-grab.
The fanbase is getting worse everyday as well. The amount of hate they spread while promoting a kind of tenderness is two-faced. Death threats, bashing sexual assault victims (who are also and also not Mel fans), harassing small creators who don't hype her up/fall in love/or "understand" her. It gives me solace that I left it all once the allegations dropped. I met really nice people when I was still following her, but the majority of fans in recent years have turned sour.
Tbh most of her fans are tiktok kids and their brains aren’t fully developed yet so they can’t comprehend that you can condemn an artists actions even if you consider yourself a “fan”. You don’t have to worship the ground they walk on

One, the meet and greet was never a meet and greet, fans are actively reading VIP packages wrong, 2 the one show where she seems frustrated was also apparently very hot (it was her Texas show) so that’s likely why her and the crowd weren’t doing so great, a lot of this is the labels doing please remember that, please also remember that Melanie is actively touring and she is still a human, she’s gonna get burned out, especially since shes wearing a very easily overstimulating outfit in very overstimulating settings, I’m not saying you can criticize her, there is definitely some concerning things she’s done but please take this into consideration

The whole thing with the alien makeup and whatnot is what ruined this era. The reason she couldn't meet and greet her fans is probably because that makeup must take hours to put on and must be very delicate. This was ridiculous and I hope she leaves it behind for something less extravagant.

Got two shirts as well. Had so much fun and don’t understand why other venues are different. :/
Some venues are just horrible. I had an awful experience at a kpop concert because of the venue poorly managing the VIP event and even the group was confused and uncomfortable when we had to do the meet and greet in the dark.

I love how Mel is trying to branch out. I was excited. But the album to me mostly was a flop. Both of their previous albums and ep’s had 0 skips for me. Portals has mostly skips. Feels like it was overhyped for just low quality material. I understand a lot of her stuff was leaked.
