And dangit, am I the only one that wishes at least once in Lion: Son of the Forest when the Lion talked about his sons he would have put a hand on the shoulder or even a pat on the shoulder and hug to his sons at the end of the interaction on the Blood Angel flagship.
Seeing as how Guilliman is on the crusade, wouldn't that mean it's more likely that Guilliman meets El'Jonson before El'Jonson makes it back to Terra? I feel like Roboute might try to have a conversation with the other Primarch before he gets to Terra, just to be prudent. That's the kind of the Guilliman would do.
I wonder if all the returned Primarch's will have reuinions with their father. Guilliman's gave us a glimpse of whats become of the Emperor after becoming almost dead but being forced to hold the Imperial webway shut for the last 10,000 years. Seems to me in a sense he's already met the Emperor or part of him at least and we know the Lion will be just as disgusted if not more so as Guilliman at the state of Terra.
I would love Magnus to be redeemed and meet with Big E. Would never happen though as that would lead to Magnus sitting his ass upon the throne and Big E getting to reincarnate.
I hope Big E doesn't act so insane as he did with Guilliman by just yelling random words. I'm assuming that speaking to Guilliman was the very first time Big E has spoken directly to any mortal, so it took a hell of an effort to collect his vast power into something singular, self-aware and coherent. But now that Big E has become active again, the conversation with the Lion should be a lot more productive.
@@animemanXLK The only one I'm aware of is when the Sisters of Battle had to be convinced they were following a heretic and not the real Emperor, so a Custodes took them directly into the throne room. As was stated in the Genefather, Guilliman is crossing the Rift in a year. When he gets there it will be the next iteration of the Dawn of Fire series and towards the end of that they will meet, then go back to Terra together.
For those who read son of the forest and roboute's return will know they feel incredibly lonely as primarchs. Their meeting will emotional, Lion will censure him for breaking the legions but I think they'll agree on one thing, the ecclesiarchy must be removed from power. They both were sick at hearing about emperor worship. Will be fun to see for once how the inquisition feels when they're being hunted
No, they won’t get rid of the ecclesiarchy it’s too entrenched, and honestly the ecclesiarchy is the only thing holding the imperium together. Although I can see them curbing some of their influence and power.
@@Kaiserboo1871 I don't think they can get rid of the inquisition either but I do think they can reduce their influence to the point where they aren't in command anymore and ordering secret assassinations of space Marines or loyal soldiers who irk them
To be honest, I'd like to see a primarch return who isn't a goody two shoes acting all shocked about what the Imperium became (as if wasn't an entirely predictable outcome of the regime they fought for during the Great Crusade). I dunno who that would be; it feels like most of the true pragmatists sided with Chaos. Maybe Leman Russ? Jaghatai Khan?
My sentiments exactly. Not only that, but these two guys could bring much more pathos to the setting. Jaghatai, the man who always wanted just to roam the open steppes yet he abandoned everything to be true son to his father and Leman, the guy who uses the "brute viking" facade to hide his wits and intelligence. Both of them sentimental, both of them humane (and human!), both of them truly aware of what the Warp could do, even before the seeds of Heresy took place. They could bring a great balance between the "pragmatist" but cold, calculating "bookworm" that Gulliman really is at heart. Instead we get the guy who pretends to be chivalrous whilst hiding the inhuman mistrusting animal he truly is deep inside. All the great stories that could be told, now forever gone.
The Lion and Guilleman will meet, do what brothers do, argue, fight, laugh, hug and then they will form a plan. Guilliman will be the administrator and ruler, and The Lion will be the frontline general. I'm sure GW, as a business, will find at least two more Loyalist Primarchs to come back to the setting. They need to have a equal good vs. evil fight(4vs4). I'm, 100% sure Leman Russ will return, but I'm not sure about the last loyal Primarch to return.
@@Zarozh It's all about having four different style Primarchs. While the Kahn sounds awesome, the White Scars are to much an overlap of Dark Angels-Ravenwing and Space Wolves. so those aspects are covered (yes, I 100% think Leman Russ will return). @@neanderthal- Leman russ and the Khan or Corvus as a covert behind the lines/sabotage. Going back to how Oculus Imperia has reported the outlook and motivations of the 1st Legion under the Lion, I think they'll prioritise duty above all else and will be focused on rebuilding themselves and the various successor chapters. They'll not return to Terra until duty is done. Gulliman will need to seek them out. I think.
I think his meeting with Guilliman will be a nigh-on rerun of his meeting with Zabriel; initially hostile, maybe, but he'll bite his tongue and listen to Gman and no doubt come to an understanding, even if he doesn't agree with everything he's been up to
@@MasterIceyy Vulkan would be an interesting option since his empathy with base humanity is his core aspect and most admirable trait as big papa E himself openly said. Although truth be told I would much rather have Leman return. Or, in a shocking twist of actually smart narrative, have Omegon get his true inner circle and declare for the Emperor, leaving the rest of his legion to follow whatever they see fit. After all, Omegon (along with Alpharius) was made privy to the broader fate of the galaxy after the meeting with the Cabal - and probably is the only one who could communicate with Emperor about this, as undoubtedly papa E should be aware of the Cabal's existence. Comeon GW, shake the setting a bit, make it a bit more cosmic!
@@PhilipAlexanderHassialis I say Vulkan just because he was there when Imperium secundus was happening but sadly was killed off by Konrad. What would be funny is when the Lion get to talk with the Emperor directly on Terra, he would talk in normal full sentences and be heartwarming and grateful. "Oh finally Lion, its you. I am so happy to see you. That tool Guilliman was just here. Dont you just hate that guy. I just gave him the run around so thankfully he left rather quickly"
It's probably not going to be any time soon, but if the Lion went to Terra, I would love him to stay and take up his old mantle of Lord Protector of the Secundus. Leave the rest of the Angels to defend Nihilus, just like Gulliman left Ultramar to Calgar. It would have allowed Azrael to be in control of the Chapter again and also allow some hubris without making the Lion look stupid, but also get the Lion to take part in the major event of the story.
The Lion: Brother, I am not alone. Guilliman: I know brother. I know.... The Lion: Look, I'm here to do what has to be done. Guiliman: Sure. Sure . Sure. Whatever The Lion: Robute. Why do you have a lot of luggages??? Guiliman: Dad. Your eldest is here. You can tell him what to do. I'm taking a damn vacation to The Webway. Chow Terra!!!
A question that needs asking is weather or not The Lion and Guilliman meet before or after The Lion’s return to Terra. If before, then Guilliman might very well give his brother a heads up about what he’d find there, which would lessen the surprise and give him more time to prepare himself.
I think brutally the Lion would prioritise meeting Guilliman over the Emperor. A) It's the main strategic option as Guilliman is Lord Regent and B) The Lion says in son's of the forest basically that no one sees the galaxy like a Primarch other than another Primarch.
I imagine that the high lords would just become increasingly mortified with each newly returned Primarch. And then Russ shows up(potentially with the Lion should that one theory prove true), takes one look, much longer than is comfortable, at the literal library full of their crimes against the Emperor's vision for the Imperium and how each book full of mistakes, sins, and blatant corruption is treated like something to be proud of instead of ashamed of, and just lets out a growl/sigh before straight fucking decapitating each one of them without a second glance and starts walking past. Likely to the mild annoyance of both Gulliman(couldn't he have waited until Gulliman could render them obsolete first?) and the Lion(Couldn't he have saved at least one for him?)
I think the Lion would be more pressed to return to Terra if it wasn't for Gulliman being there, out of all his brothers he does understand Reboutes skill in running things and can depend on him to keep things in order.
I think the Lion will hate it, but maybe understand it after meeting with the Emp or his brother. I honestly can't wait for Russ return he's going to make it known loudly that he thinks the current imperium is complete shit house.
Now they need Leman Russ to join Guilliman and for Jagatai to rejoin Johnson. Russ is the fiercest warrior of all the Primarchs, and Khan is the Primarch best suited - other than Guilliman - to running and expanding an empire.
I don't think the Lion will hide his "dismay" nearly as well. I think he''ll string up some Inquisitors, and blame Guilliman for playing along with the perversion of the Imperial Truth. This will be the start of a rift between the brothers.
I don't think he would mind Big Robby G playing emperor because, he absolutely isn't playing he NEEDS TO BE a palace within the palace? Absolutely necessary he needs to remain there to maintain control of the high lords. Older lion seems absolutely practical and much less hot headed. With dad gone someone needs to rule, Lion doesn't want to and will understand Guilliam doesn't actually want to either he wants to go home to the ultrimar segmentum and take a breather.
I would say the reason the primarchs are so attracted to Earth, besides it being the seat of the empire, Is because it's arguably the only thing you can really say the emperor loves.
“Brother, by the throne, you’re back! It’s more than I could have hoped!” “You listen to me you pompous twit! Play emperor if you like but the first is MINE. You can take your codex and jam up your arse!” “That old thing? I threw that in the bin the second I awoke.” “Oh. Well, in that case, it’s good to see you, brother.”
hello ... you dopnt need a ship to travel to the throne world. You just Forest Walk on the surface of Terra and then make a pilgrimage to the Golden Throne.
Guilliman might be able to mitigate Lion's feelings on the palace by saying that it's not his, it's the Regent's. That he'd rather be in his own quarters like in the old days, then offer to step down for him to be Regent. Lion'd say no and be less aggroed by it with Guilliman also having a moan about how public it is.
Personally, I think the Lion is going to take it better than Gulliman. He definitely won't like it, but he's never struck me as an optimist, and Gulliman was definitely an optimist.
The high lords will cry havoc and let slip the inquisition. They are probably the only group that could deal with the Dark Angels. After all they have use of Ork snipers
If Lion doesn’t see that Bootyman is the best choice for a new emperor we highly overestimate his intelligence. If there is any chance for Imperium to go back to Big E’s dream it’s in Bootyman. I don’t even like the guy and I see that lol
The way Lion's returned persona is, I figure he'll be like "I am gathering up my legion, I am going to dish out some lessons to our enemies, you keep everything together." to Guilliman. Contrary to common belief I don't think they'll be fighting, will definitely argue about the splitting of the legions tho. I expect a "how dare you" or two in that meeting.
@@emirhaneksioglu4503 exactly, its basically gonna be guilliman running the political/logistics side and the lion running the military aspect if im correct
Nope. The Lion has no desire to rule. That much was made perfectly clear. The Lion is a warrior, a hunter. Sitting around a palace ruling is an abysmal fate for one such as him. He also knows he is far more impactful out in the galaxy, curb stomping the enemies of mankind.
@thejammyproject totally possible and would be a good fit I feel like they bring back all the tactical or strategically aligned primarchs but I put russ because I play space wolves so just hopes lol

Some of it won't be as shocking to Lion. He's going to have a lot of time to understand the new Imperium before he arrives. He's already had time to deal with the religious aspect as we saw in the Son of the Forest novel. I also think getting to Terra will be more hopeful than Bobby's trip was. Lion knows Bobby is there. Bobby thought he was alone. So regardless of Terra's state the Lion has more to look forward to. I do want to see the next novel cover his return though. Even just the Rock or Invincible Reason popping out over Terra and Bobby's reaction to it. See if Lion pulls the same like dramatic formations before he did on Macragg. Could be all sorts of fun and seeing if the modern Angels/Ultras pick up on the tensions.
Your hunch is likely correct, because GW is going to milk this dry with another dozen books. Books that are mostly 90% filler and 10% moving the plot forward. The entire Seige of Terra series has been 99% junk filler material
I personally think that the lion would be very angry at what he might see. And Gilman would have to be there to keep him from putting a bolter round through a few people.
The Lion can eat a bag of d's if he rankles at Guilliman's position. G'man is just following his wyrd as the heir to the Emperor's throne. Perhaps the Lion should follow his, which is as the Commander of the Emperor's Armies.

It is making me nervous there is not a peep about upcoming Lion novels....
I agree with you, I think The Lion will stay in Imperium Nihilus for a bit and even with all the DA interactions I want to see more Dante and Lion interactions. I would to see them work together closely, maybe even The Lion sharing his deep feelings over Sanguinius with Dante. And dangit, am I the only one that wishes at least once in Lion: Son of the Forest when the Lion talked about his sons he would have put a hand on the shoulder or even a pat on the shoulder and hug to his sons at the end of the interaction on the Blood Angel flagship.
He did put a hand on their shoulders and much more in arks of omen Lion. Baldermort did a 3 hour read through of the campaign book. Give it a listen.
@@plasmahdtv will do!
@@maxstr I think there's one or two instances. Not sure if their actually cannon anymore.
@@animemanXLK The only one I'm aware of is when the Sisters of Battle had to be convinced they were following a heretic and not the real Emperor, so a Custodes took them directly into the throne room. They came back and killed the false guy, so whatever happened it worked. Unfortunately, nothing else is said about it, so we don't know if they actually spoke to the Emperor or if they simply saw the blinding light of his glory and were convinced.
@@maxstr Yeah there's another from like second edition I think were he allows an inquisitor to see him and says something about the hardships of what's required to rule a galaxy spanning empire. Like I said I'm pretty sure it's no longer cannon since I don't think the idea of the Emperor permanantly wired into the golden throne as a living corpse was quite established yet. Even in third my understanding was it mostly a lifesupport system for him and then later on read the more modern stuff that being in the throne is just neverending torture and requires full concernatration every second of every day no respite ever and I'm like fuck...
it frustrates me that lion or anyone else might think that guilliman wants to play emperor. the G is just tired of everyone's shit and just wants shit to be over. he takes control because he has to, but he doesnt like it and he would do it if he didnt have to. in fact, i bet he would be way more relieved if someone else had the responsibility instead of him
his personaility is just "omg just lets end this. and these ppl are so useless, let me take their position and do it myself so we can end this shit"
I see it as a strange reversal of roles decided by big e he is now the emperors shield, and papa smurf is the sword. The lion won't want to face big e because he feels he is a failure.

@chardeemacdennis357 he will stay in nihilus. If he brings his redeemed sons back, they will have the ordo hereticus and the minotaurs up the ass just for starters.

The fallen might be a well kept secret but kinda hard to keep his forgiven sons a secret.
We need a epic reunion with lord Guilliman and Lord El Johnson
@@Kaiserboo1871 I don't think they can get rid of the inquisition either but I do think they can reduce their influence to the point where they aren't in command anymore and ordering secret assassinations of space Marines or loyal soldiers who irk them
Yeah, I cant wait to see what the Lion does when he get there. Its going to be awesome!
What a time to be a fan, I never thought they'd do so much new stuff.
*a distant sound echoing from the warp towards Terra* Neeeeeerrrrrrddddd!!!
Vulkan
@@Allhailthesithwould be a good choice. Would like to see that miniature!
Also Vulkan is very likeable in some aspects. Ie. Sellable for GW
Would love if the Khan returned, from the webway since he IS alive :P
@@Zarozh It's all about having four different style Primarchs. While the Kahn sounds awesome, the White Scars are to much an overlap of Dark Angels-Ravenwing and Space Wolves. so those aspects are covered (yes, I 100% think Leman Russ will return). It's all about GW catering to a wide array of customers as possible.
@@neanderthal- Leman russ and the Khan or Corvus as a covert behind the lines/sabotage. In that way Corax fits alot better being in the Warp with Gulliman handling the logistics and Lion leading from the front with support from his "now" older and wiser brother Russ, together grinding down the traitors.
When Lion gets to Terra Cypher will show up and give him his sword and walk with him to see BigE.
I so could see the pirmarchs fighting the religion parts as they all come back
I’m looking forward to seeing the Khan and the Wolf return. Especially the interaction between the wolf and Lion.
I think.
I think his meeting with Guilliman will be a nigh-on rerun of his meeting with Zabriel; initially hostile, maybe, but he'll bite his tongue and listen to Gman and no doubt come to an understanding, even if he doesn't agree with everything he's been up to
If Vulcan is a perpetual it seems likely he is the next Primarch to reappear
1. Vulkan.
2. Corax.
3. The Khan.
That's my list of most likely to least likely to be the next to return.
GW have brought back 2/4 primarchs who were in Imperium Secundus and they obviously can't bring back Sanguinius as much as I'd love them too, so Vulkan is a great fit
I think it will depend on the circumstance of the return, will there be time for diplomacy or will it be amist a battle
lion when he arrives at terra: ey yo i just took a nap wtf is this???!!!1
guilliman smoking an ultra cigar: first time?
"Guilliman."
"Lion!"
"GUILLIMAAAN!!!"
"Oh Sugar Honey Ice Tea!!"
It would be funny if Lion just forest walk into the throne room instead of waiting for all the ceremony and such
We get an awful lot of Imperium vs Chaos. I would like to see Lion facing off against a massive waaagh who are smashing apart his protected systems
A very insightful commentary, as always
Sure . Sure. Whatever
The Lion: Robute.
All the primarchs had their own lodgings in the imperial palace- mini palace any way?
A 3rd Primarch will meet The Blue bot and Johnson first.
I always wonder which primarch is ganna hate the current imperium the most
WLR, we need a Leman Ruff update!
Be careful what you ask for...they've butchered the DA on TT...the bastards
The lion is one of the few characters that can’t complain to what has happened to humanity. Because he’s the only one that’s taking a 10,000 year nap.
Coma is a bit different to a nap.
I think he would more be shocked by Lorgan Fanfics.
Lion: what is this?! Look at book.
Guiliman: look who is the author.
Lion:😵💫
“Brother, by the throne, you’re back! It’s more than I could have hoped!”
“You listen to me you pompous twit! Play emperor if you like but the first is MINE. You can take your codex and jam up your arse!”
“That old thing? I threw that in the bin the second I awoke.”
“Oh. Well, in that case, it’s good to see you, brother.”
I want to see The Lion vs Fulgrim.
Hey LEC chek your facts.
Inspired was in EG at MSI 2022 and they went 1:1 which means that he did lose to Faker.
hello ... you dopnt need a ship to travel to the throne world. You just Forest Walk on the surface of Terra and then make a pilgrimage to the Golden Throne.
Man, every time i look at the man of imperium I can just imagine the returned Primarchs smoking the universe longest cigarettes
Is the arks of omen still the most recent addidtion to his narrative?
y
Guilliman might be able to mitigate Lion's feelings on the palace by saying that it's not his, it's the Regent's. That he'd rather be in his own quarters like in the old days, then offer to step down for him to be Regent. Lion'd say no and be less aggroed by it with Guilliman also having a moan about how public it is.
*the door of El'Johnson's ship opens*
The Lion -
"Behold Brother! I too have acquired a big tiddy eldar GF!"
*Guilliman smiles*
Do you have to re-read the same passages again and again. The first time does it for most readers I would think...
1:14 Imperium Nihilus: Hey! Fuq You! We bleeding out here and you do us like this?
Personally, I think the Lion is going to take it better than Gulliman.
He definitely won't like it, but he's never struck me as an optimist, and Gulliman was definitely an optimist.
How do you spell mycinius from 5.25?
The high lords will cry havoc and let slip the inquisition.
They are probably the only group that could deal with the Dark Angels.
After all they have use of Ork snipers
its not the same High Lords, guilliman purged some of his opponents on the council
I think the two will come to blows
Its like when belasarius came back to rome.
I'm hoping the lion gets angry and scrubs terra clean of that "The emperor is a god" crap that has been going on.
I mean the Emperor basically is a god now.
The Emperor protects, brothers.
The lion will arrive under the cover of night with a hood up.
If Lion doesn’t see that Bootyman is the best choice for a new emperor we highly overestimate his intelligence. If there is any chance for Imperium to go back to Big E’s dream it’s in Bootyman. I don’t even like the guy and I see that lol
He will just try to get directives directly from his father
What's the lion reaction seeing the Primaris in his sons?
I hope that when The Lion encounters girlyman he kicks his arse!!
Can you put together a read on the progressive events post Cadia? Lore is all over the place if you're not on top of it.
I know the lion has mellowed in some way but he is still the lion I don't see him searching for his long lost brothers I just don't see it .
So are guilliman and the lion going to split the imperium like the romans did
The way Lion's returned persona is, I figure he'll be like "I am gathering up my legion, I am going to dish out some lessons to our enemies, you keep everything together." to Guilliman.
Guilliam appointed Dante as ruler of Nihlus. Lion is likely to be his Belisarius, leading campaigns against the enemies of mankind.
The Lion currently has no appetite for ruling. His priority right now is redeeming the fallen and kicking ass in Imperium Nihilus.
What’s with the repeated dialogue. 4:00 and 6:50 are the same.

Oh he's going to be pissed

Your hunch is likely correct, because GW is going to milk this dry with another dozen books. Books that are mostly 90% filler and 10% moving the plot forward. The entire Seige of Terra series has been 99% junk filler material
cant he just forrest walk to tera when ever he wants :D... high lords are going to shit the bed LOL
I'll be honest with you all. Lionel El Johnson would be mad as hell over this shit. He would not be happy at all about the state of Terra.
I personally think that the lion would be very angry at what he might see. And Gilman would have to be there to keep him from putting a bolter round through a few people.
Why doesn’t he just forest walk there?

The Lion can eat a bag of d's if he rankles at Guilliman's position. G'man is just following his wyrd as the heir to the Emperor's throne. Perhaps the Lion should follow his, which is as the Commander of the Emperor's Armies.
