- In this quick lesson we will talk about Trace Sets which allow you to individually control which objects receive reflections and refractions.
In part 2 we will walk though the lighting setup of the coverpage.

Great quick tutorial with loads of helpful tips! Thanks
You’re welcome, thank you for the support!
Very useful! Subscribed 👍
Great tute!
Thank you! 🤜🤛
I found a way to remove the reflection in the mirror @7:51. you can duplicate the statue and reverse the options in the redshift object visibility tag
Supercool!!!
Thank you 🙂
idk what is up with the UA-cam algorithm but I didn't see your video in my subscription feed :/ found about it from the shorts 😂
🤷♂️🤦😂 Well, glad you found it!
How did you manage to make the waves so smooth and beautiful? And... moving? I copied your settings, but can't get these wonderful horizontal waves...
Send me an email and I’ll pass you them 🙃
how to remove the reflection of the statue on the water, which is reflected in the mirror?
That is unfortunately not possible. I do talk about it in the video. Hopefully soon!
Hey, I'm trying to figure out how to reflect a video I shot into a sphere, made out of mirror material. I have an hdri background that reflects into my sphere but I can't figure out how to get a video to reflect in it. I also sent you a dm on Instagram. Thanks!
Send us a link to the file and we can have a look. You can email us at www.youme.academy 🙂
not ideal but i suppose you could always just duplicate your water plane, exclude the statue reflection from it and then reflect that into the mirror instead of the original.
If there’s a will, there’s a way!
thanks its help a lot
You’re welcome ☺️
cant you remove the light from the reflection using the project tab on the light? rather than using redshift object tag
Was gonna say this should have been mentioned at least.
@@stemfourvisual That will for sure work, but you will remove ALL the light attributes. Suppose you still want the light to illuminate the object, but not be seen by reflections... this is where the project exclusions has it's limitations it will competely turn off the light to that object rather than just the reflections.
@willstuartbrown thank you for the good thought! That will for sure work, but you will remove ALL the light attributes. Suppose you still want the light to illuminate the object, but not be seen by reflections... this is where the project exclusions has it's limitations it will competely turn off the light to that object rather than just the reflections.
Yeah, understood, just meant its an option that I felt should have been covered in this video. Thanks for all your work by the way! @@YouAndMeAcademy
