This song proves that metal is not just mental or metal is not just noise. Beautiful song....this song is also a evidence that metal songs can be emotional too. And After hearing some metal music I think metal is holy music genre than other genres.
Non ci sono altre parole... "VI AMO"... siete meravigliosi... e ringrazierò sempre l' umilissima utilissima radio rock 106.60 perchè se non fosse stato per loro non vi avrei conosciuti! Knowing that you're not coming back. Putting this video and start tearing and you telling me "don't cry cause this is not our song". As you walked away when the winter came. And now even I try to look for you in this dark, you won't turn back. Love you, Oliver. And I damn the day you loved me.
Ok , this is pretty damn good. I typically listen to Draconian . Saturnus , Swallow The Sun ....... this is a welcomed (new to me) addition to my favs 👍🏼
Insomnium has never, EVER failed to deliver, and to slowly improve their music with every single album. Though i get the feeling the recent Winters Gate may be their peak. it is deserving of it. :)
@@elkyrjamalaininen4445 Not in my book. Heart like a Grave is as excellent a song as any by Insomnium. But i stand by what i said even now. Winter's Gate is their best work yet.
@@davecrupel2817 Dave Crupel i missed your point. i understood your post in the context of creative arc. all bands hit their creative apogee and never return. i was commenting on that. I do not think current insomnium has reached their apogee. especially with the addition of vanhala. he has definitely brought a new complexion to the sound, somewhat similar to omnium gatherum. I call it the isaac delahayes'-ing of a band. like isaac did for epica i think vanhala did for insomnium. making it more commercially presentable, and i do not say that with a negative connotation. there is definitely more focused vanhala leads and clean vocals since he came along. all good in my estimation. So to compare the insomnium of one for sorrow with the ville twins and the wintergate duo of ville and markus is hard. It is even more daunting now at heart like a grave with the markus, ville and jani trifecta. The recognizable, underlying and unique sound of friman and sevanen is the constant. We shall see. To be sure, wintergate is their finest song to date. It has 4/5 major themes that are phrased 3/4 different ways each. Pretty simple right? Yet so complex, for sure? But that is the rub, Wintergate is a single song whereas heart like a grave is a 12 song work. So that is a discussion for another day. be well elkyr
The lyrics of this song are so powerful and touching. "Two to crush dreams and wonders One to lose everything All once beautiful and sacred Nothing but in vain"
Some of the finest melodic death metal out there. I love this band, and they currently rank as a co-equal favorite band of mine along with U2 and Metallica. And getting hooked is an apt description. I got hooked on them with their Shadows of the Dying Sun release. All it took was hearing the very first track off that album and I became a fan.

Wow...so it comes right to the heart...beautiful song, the 2 voices together are very good
Best song ever
Andrea Payn While we sleep.
This song proves that metal is not just mental or metal is not just noise. Beautiful song....this song is also a evidence that metal songs can be emotional too. And After hearing some metal music I think metal is holy music genre than other genres.
The band that makes its own music genre..
If I had never heard their songs my life would be less...just less
Okay, I listened to this song when I was 11 and I accepted it like a piece of art. Now I'm 20 and It's still a pleasant surprise every time.
this aint music, this is art.
Well, music is also a form of art xD
Non ci sono altre parole... "VI AMO"... siete meravigliosi... e ringrazierò sempre l' umilissima utilissima radio rock 106.60 perchè se non fosse stato per loro non vi avrei conosciuti! Io vi adoro... siete misto Sergio Leone western e musica classica!!! Grazie di esistere! Vi amo con tutto il cuore!
Best band from Finland😊 Kiitos pojat!
The majesty and beauty of Insomnium 💖💖💖
нет слов ...одни эмоции ....хочу на их концерт
Insomnium is seriously the best band there is. There's just no comparison to that level of depth and emotion
My bf is going back to his country and this song will be playing on repeat until we meet again . I love you, Oli.
Knowing that you're not coming back. Putting this video and start tearing and you telling me "don't cry cause this is not our song". As you walked away when the winter came. And now even I try to look for you in this dark, you won't turn back. Love you, Oliver. And I damn the day you loved me.
This feels like my soul is crushed, then pulled back to life again... Sad and filled with life, what a powerful band!
Right deep in the feels.
One of the best songs ever written
Ok , this is pretty damn good.
I typically listen to Draconian . Saturnus , Swallow The Sun .......
this is a welcomed (new to me) addition to my favs 👍🏼
this is not just metal for me. its kind of a lullaby... man its so peacefull....
Best Band Ever !!
The Lyrics are the utmost beautiful words alltogether i have ever heard in my Life..
Niilo keep sharing the pain..
\m/
Well, these lyrics weren't written by Niilo Sevanen, it was by Friman. It surprised me. o.o It says that on their official website though. :p
Insomnium has never, EVER failed to deliver, and to slowly improve their music with every single album. Though i get the feeling the recent Winters Gate may be their peak. it is deserving of it. :)
guess you got that wrong. heart like a grave.
@@elkyrjamalaininen4445 Not in my book.
Heart like a Grave is as excellent a song as any by Insomnium. But i stand by what i said even now.
Winter's Gate is their best work yet.

i missed your point. i understood your post in the context of creative arc. all bands hit their creative apogee and never return. i was commenting on that.
So that is a discussion for another day.
be well

@@elkyrjamalaininen4445 appreciate the clarification. And very well said too :)
Cheers
Magic exists - we just call it music. Insomnium are true magicians of melodic extreme metal!
I wish they'd do more slower songs like this one, they are damn good at it.
The lyrics of this song are so powerful and touching.
"Two to crush dreams and wonders
One to lose everything
All once beautiful and sacred
Nothing but in vain"
I can't spend a day without listening to them, pure addiction.
I don't usually get hooked on a band while listening to just one song from them. What sorcery has befallen upon me? 😍
I am the last
The one who holds on past
Clinging on something we used to have
I am the last
The one who chose this path
To walk among the world of shadows
Always one for sorrow
Never one for love
Two souls destined to failure
Right from the start
It was always one for sorrow
Never one for love
Two souls set for departure
Before the nightfall
And here I stand
Devoid of faith, bereft of hope
Unable to break the walls around me
And here I stand
Shell of a man from past
Condemned to world of resentment
It took two to summon the thunder
One to bring down the rain
Two to torn all asunder
One to suffer the pain
Two to crush dreams and wonders
One to lose everything
All once beautiful and sacred
Nothing but in vain
I finally found this song! 🥲
This entire album was pure, undeniable art.
"It took two to summon the thunder
One to bring down the rain
Two to torn all asunder
One to suffer the pain
Two to crush dreams and wonders
One to lose everything
All once beautiful and sacred
Nothing but in vain"
makes me sigh...
Can' wait to finally see them live again next year! Insomium is and will most likely always be one of my favourite bands.
This song is a work of art. I love this
This is what it sounds like when you make songs from pain and despair... excruciating beauty.
Such a stunning song, you can feel it.
