Ehhh metal is huge right now and while it's not the king of MTV like it used to be it's still popular and nowhere near niche. Besides, there are other dark genres of music out there that have nothing to do with metal.

@@aleksanderolbrych9157 Metal was never the king of MTV. MTV was invented in the context of pop music. Today it has little to nothing in common with music, only with celebrities. Metal was and it will always be a niche, because it´s music made by, and for, real music lovers, which are not the majority of people.
As for dark genres of music that have nothing to do with Metal, what are you referring to?
You know what is funny? Metalheads are most open-minded people when it comes to listening music. My top bands are Manowar, Iced Earth, Nightwish, Ayreon and everything from Snowy Shaw... but I love Behemoth, Amon Amarth, Rough Silk, Celesty, Dark At Dawn, Theocracy or another hundreds of bands... But I have no problem to listen to Dimash, because he is amazing. In my phone I have Beethoven as well...or Toby Keith (american country :D) ... I have no problem to listen good stuff... when/if its good. How many "radio" listeners can say the same... they thing that metal is about satan... that's it :D
My phone has thousands of songs and I always listen to whole album, 95per is metal, all genres but I am capable of appreciating good music

Absolute masterpiece. It’s rare it really is with the millions of bands out there and the ones that make it don’t always make it for the right reasons but this band unlike almost any other I’ve ever heard combine heaviness melody emotion power virtuoso lyrics and visuals Simply better than any other band alive on this planet at this moment

This song is SO beautiful! The harmonics, the lyrics, the powerful guitars, the solos... Every song of Insomnium touches my heart. They can make me cry only with their music. I can't describe how much I love this Band!
As good as "Gods Elements".
And people still say that metal doesn't have emotion, it's only brutal and evil, when there's so much beauty in this type of music, like in almost all types of music.

I think if there is one band that can properly portray on an emotional level the nostalgia inherent to the North, it is Insomnium. With Swallow the Sun as a close second. Intense and beautiful.
This is insane. I didn't think Insomnium could ever top themselves even more, they proved me wrong. This is so melodically rich with no apparent redundancy for the sake of making a longer track. Insomnium, was, is, and will be, my favourite band of all time. For now, I'm hoping for a project or an album. Don't even stop what you doing guys you are the best ever. Greeting from Morocco.

I am glad and honored to have met them in Cleveland, Ohio while they was on tour to support their Winter's Gate album (I'm going to refer to it as an album) I told their singer my story of how I discovered Insomnium and how their music really helped me through a difficult time in my life. Their singer Niilo literally bowed to me in thanks. I shook it off and said it should be me bowing man lol they are such humble dudes. I asked them to please never give up on Insomnium, that the music scene needs bands like theirs now more than ever. He comforted me in saying they had no plans of disbanding in the foreseeable future, and then their album Heart Like A Grave was released around my birthday. I love a ton of bands, and Insomnium is my favorite. I am greatful to have discovered them.

This song is unbelievable. Everytime I think Insomnium topped themself they just release another, even better song. The only thing this track is missing from pure perfection is a part with violin.
Pff, this is outstanding. Melodic Death has to be one of the best metal subgenres ever, and Insomnium one of its best exponents.

I love this song already. I started listening to Insomnium right back when they had just released their first album. To me this song reminds me a lot of the older stuff, nicely mixed with the newer material. Keep on at it, and good luck Sleeping.
Exactly my thoughts (and history) as well. It's a good callback to older stylings that caught us older fans in the first place, but with elements of their stylistic evolution in the mix as well so it is a newer song for them, and not just playing on nostalgia.
@@AzraelBlackstar Definitely agree with that! Some of their newer stuff has left me feeling like something was missing. I guess it's because I had a big gap between enjoying their first two albums and the later on material and they had developed into a bigger band, and their style had slightly changed. I'm really digging this new stuff, it also certainly helps being there when it's just been released and feeling that new buzz. =)

Make every song sound identifiably insomnium, without it ever sounding like a rehash.
I mean, no other band sounds like this. And insomnium never sounds like anything else. They're basically an entire subgenre unto themselves.
Dear Insominum, I got into your music in autumn 2020. Now I got all your releases on CD/vinyl and wear your 'Winter's Gate' zipper with pride.
