"Jeff's range... it speaks for itself"
    literally, lol

Geoff's range is so amazing. He is incredibly talented, and I don't just mean as a singer.
All the voices of the characters produced by Eli, Earl, J.None and Layne are incredibly performed as well. Cartoonish voices are not easy. Eli also did the voice of Santa as well. His voice work is incredible on its own.

Oh, no; you'll play this and the REST of VoicePlay's Halloween offerings because they are the masters of Halloween. Plus, Geoff has delicious Halloween offerings, topped off by last year's release of Jack's Lament (which is an exquisite portrayal of Jack.)
I am so greatly enjoying what is offered by this channel: pure enjoyment of great music plus knowledge tidbits like highlighting the background vocals and gow they impact the arrangement.

That little cascading bass sound you were asking about at 9:34 is Geoff double-tracked and singing slightly different notes on each one to give it that odd eerie quality. He explained it on one of the Patreon chats because a lot of us wanted to know!

😂 I knew you would love Layne's arrangement on this, the theatrics, Geoff's belting and then 2sec. later dropping into the sub-basement 🤩👍🏻

A bit of a story. My first experience with Voiceplay. I believe, was their cover of "Phantom of The Opera," way back in the days Tony Wakim (co-owner of Pattycake Productions with Layne) was still with the group. I'm something of a snob as a Phan, having been fortunate enough to see Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in PoTO onstage. Not just everyone can cover it. So when I watched a minute or two of Voiceplay's cover, I didn't know it was Acapella and didn't care for it, because it was so different from Crawford and Brightman's version. Sometime later, I came across Voiceplay's "This is Halloween," they've done almost every song from "TNBC." I watched it, liked it, thought the singing was great, costumes were awesome, and that the vampire was super hot. So I watched a few of their videos, casually, and thought they were really good.
    *_THEN THIS ONE CAME OUT!_*
It blew me away. Whooosh! Just gone! The low note at the end was like nothing I'd heard before. I watched it SO many times, shared it with everyone, and was dead on in love with Voiceplay. For many people, it's a gateway video for them to discover this amazing group. I haven't looked back since. And I'm such a happy Voiceplaya! I like some songs, love most of their songs (nothing falls below a "like"), and their guests and lineups. They make me feel better when I'm down. So it's so wonderful watching other people discover them. Thanks for a great reaction.
Oh! And I love their PoTO cover now!
    💙

This is indeed well worth a re-listen near Halloween.
For something to react to near then, consider Geoff's adaptation of _Monster Mash._ It updates the 1962 novelty song by Bobby Pickett, except that instead of just pulling faces and the use of bad voice imitations, Geoff, etc., actually make it really good.

This one was once the gateway to Voiceplay for a lot of people. It not only hits on a lot of Voiceplay’s biggest strengths-the unity of the group, the precision of the staccati, arpeggios and syncopation, Layne’s fantastic perc, and Geoff’s gob-smacking drops.
A couple reactors have noted that bass singers often have fantastic range-something about it being easier to thin out thicker vocal cords than the reverse. Tomi P (you should def check him out) has a nearly 7 octave range (rivals Dimash in that respect, tho he’s a very different kind of singer) and can even do whistle notes.
I’m not really sure what your point was on the “embrace the suck” thing, having to do with the audio engineering. I think that was more of a dub-steppy stylistic thing-Layne especially does a lot of that (breaking up the sound in post) on other songs as well.
I think Layne (or somebody) used a Jabba the Hut laugh track at the end of this. LOL.
    Great reaction!

I love your enthusiastic and informative reactions- thanks! Voice Play are the kings and masters of anything spooky, creepy or Halloween themed. Geoff, his wife Kathy, and other members of Voice Play worked as performers for Universal theme park- the "Beetlejuice Rock&Roll Graveyard Review" and the annual, month long 'Halloween Horror Nights". They have several covers from 'Nightmare Before Christmas' and "Jack's Lament" on Geoff's solo channel is stunning and not to be missed- trust me!

I love VoicePlay and their brand of dumb! 😆😆😆 This is such a fun video. Looking at their catalog, you can appreciate their versatility, talent, and creativity. I don't think I've heard a genre they haven't been able to own.

Nice!!! That was fun. If you want another good group that does a wide range of music try Come little Children (Hocus Pocus) by Hound + Fox. This couple worked with Home Free mostly in videography then launched out as singers. They sing with Home Free members a lot. 🥰💕🎶

I love this song, as sung by Voiceplay. 😋
I also always enjoy your reactions/analysis.
Ps: Don't you have Ghost Love Score, by Nightwish on your "reaction list"?
The lead singer, Floor Jansen, is also a Vocal coach. 😘
The Wacken concert, 2013 version, please.
My fellow "Nightwish Army friends", will "blow up your channel ", if you do.

May I make a suggestion for something to view, since you're a former opera singer and also like bass?
You may wanna check out The Bass Gang's Acapella cover of Hide and Seek, with Lauren Paley. I promise you'll Like it. Operatic, Deeep voices, High notes, and CREEPY AS HECK.

I really don't like that style of movie but I love what VP have done with the songs from it. Sandy Claws is played by Geoff's brother in law but voiced by Eli, who is a also a voice over actor.
