It's a show where they get singers and performers from different genres of music, bring them together, get to know each other, and sing songs to the featured person that day which either they wrote or had major influence on them. One such performer on there was a guy named Henk Poort. He, like you, is an opera singer, and played Erik (the Phantom) in the Dutch production of Phantom of the Opera, as well as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables. For the singer that day (a metal/opera singer named Floor Jansen, who is a HUGE fan of Henk), he learned how to sing with distortion so he could sing the Disturbed arrangement of the Sound of Silence. Have a look at that, and react to it. you'd love it.

Avi has the clearest sounding low notes I've ever heard. Most low bass sounds are gritty or rumbley.

I really enjoyed your initial reaction and following analysis. You kept remarking on the "darkness" mode that was used here... I think that they used light & dark to resemble sound & silence where dark is silence and sound is light... when you spoke of a "pinprick of light" in the darkness, it was like a small sound amidst a great silence. I have to mention that my initial reaction was very similar to yours except I was watching the live version from the Conan show... I really encourage you to check that one out. Great Job!

Em uma só música ele trabalha vários elementos da voz. Usa a chamada voz de peito, voz de cabeça, whistle, domina técnica de microfone (manda som mixado com o controle de volume da voz, emitindo sons graves ou agudos, faz o correto distanciamento do microfone, etc). Usa, na sua voz, vibrato (o qual ele domina a intensidade), whisper (domina a produção de ar), usa tons graves (não somente os alcança, porém emite com qualidade), usa tons agudos (alcançando notas altíssimas e com qualidade). Faz riffs e runs incríveis. Canta, ainda, em vários idiomas e em vários estilos musicais. Caso você continue a jornada, verá... Enfim, trabalha cada música de forma complexa, pois acredito que ele estude como vai cantar suas músicas. O que significa ser o melhor?
